Food is mediocre way over priced for what you get. But Ripping off a 14 year old over lego in hes free time is disgraceful!

This food was fantastic, we had the sampler, a mix of beef, pork, chicken and sausage, so good!

Where have you moved to. Went to have a coffee today after a long walk on the beach. I knew you were moving but didn't know when or where you have gone to.

Very good quality fish & chips! I v got the crumble one. Its been looong time I didn’t have a good one like this. Highly recommend

We have seen their upbeat posts on social media and received mix feedback from colleagues and friends. We thought why not try them out and decide for ourselves.
I always say reviewing food is tricky. As everyones tastebud is different what's good for me is not necessarily good for someone else.
We went to the Whyalla Beach Bar on the Mothers day.
The location is perfect. And the perfection ends there, with the location.
We ordered 3 items at 1.21pm. I remember the time as I was asking one of the girls behind the counter that we booked at 1.30 but a few minutes early.
We got served at 2.37pm. One hour and 16 minutes wait. Despite being Mothers Day the place wasn't that busy and there are plenty of tables around. We thought the wait was somewhat ridiculous!
Now the food. Schnitzel itself was nice, but chips are were tasteless. I like chunky fat chips. But these ones you find in the cheap corner delis.
Supermarket coleslaw has more flavour than what we got there with our Fish and Chips. Fish itself was less than average, definitely don't worth that price.
Nacho was presented really well, but tasted pretty poor.
All in all super long wait and average food. In my view it's not a good value for money. I give two stars purely for the location.

Great place for a lunch with the sisters. Pitty its closing down, Whyalla council are idiots. Get in while you can. This comment was made when it was the Beach Cafe.

Coming from Adelaide not what I expected, very highly overpriced for what it is.
As we thought it was a fish and chip shop on the fore shore front.

As we left spoke to a local police officer asked wheres the best fish and chip shop in town as we thoughts that's what it was, He said it use to be a fish and chip shop and used to be really good untill they changed hands and new owners and management. Best fish and chips is bottle and Bird chips.

Food quality has gone cheap and prices have increased. Today we got a tiny little chicken schnitzel, a little bit of basic coleslaw, was supposed to come with pickles and they didn’t even give any of those and terrible undercooked chips. If I’m honest the chips were the one thing that was consistently great about the whole menu, they were thinner and crispier and just yummy… Now we get fat, soggy, gross chips, they bulk the whole meal up with these and then slug ya for $22.95. Basically paying $23 for very average chips and some substandard coleslaw and a mouthful of schnitzel.it’s definitely not good value or quality, If the food stays like this I won’t be returning to eat. If you want to charge this much, then you need to stick to the same quality and give customers more meat and less chips and slaw.
Can go to a local pub and get much better schnitzel and chips for a fraction of the $$$!

Service was a bit slow even though they weren't busy. The brisket and chicken wings we're average, honestly from pros I expected more flavour on the meat. Macncheese was good and the beans we're amazing!

Thoroughly enjoyed our fish and chips. Well cooked and presented. Friendly service with great views of the foreshore. Recommend a visit anytime.

Ridiculous wait without any apology. If it’s going to take 40 minutes for chips and gravy please tell me before I pay.

Smokey’s uppercuts provided patrons with a Valentine’s Day event which I couldn’t hold back from reviewing how good the chicken option was on the night. I can whole heartedly say that I don’t think in my life that I’ve ever tried chicken so perfectly cooked to the point of the consistency being smooth throughout the whole sized portion provided to the very level of how juicy it was aswell.have to take my hat off to Dylan and the team for such an amazing job well done guys

What’s not to love about Smokey Uppercuts beach bar and cafe? Not only do you get a mouth watering meal smack bang on the beach front but you will receive service from a team of lovely staff who are always happy to accomodate to your needs. Very family friendly, We love taking our little dude along with us for a beautiful morning out, a playground directly behind will come in handy once he starts running. You can take away, dine in, be seated outside or even picnic outside on the beautiful lawns with provided cushions and blankets! The quality of the food is (in my opinion) some of the best you will find on the EP! And there’s always something for everyone as well as something new to try most weeks. Highly recommend giving Smokey’s a go and once you do I bet you’ll be back

"Big Breakfast" Asked for eggs scramnled. "We don't do scrambled eggs"! Really? How hard can it be? Does the cook only have one arm? Settled for only option of eggs fried as I was hungry. Bad move. Breakfast items served piled up in a CARDBOARD BOX, soggy eggs at the bottom and everything cold! Some sort of inedible dried-up mixed beans stodge amongst it in a small cardboard cup! Coffee weak and tasted like cat p#ss and served in a cardboard cup! (What's with all the cardboard?)
Young girls behind the counter completely uninterested.

Overpriced, flavourless. Definitely not getting the "smoked meat" experience. They have changed a lot of product since moving from the van into the store front. Cheap horrible hot chips, upped the price and lowered the quantity and quality by a lot. Older Staff seem very rude, the very young staff come across lost and overwhelmed. Meals take excessively long to come out not worth the wait or the cost.

Food is ok, a bit slow for the service. The only thing disappointed me was my coffee. I ordered a large mocca, came out with a not even warm coffee extra + chocolate powder which made me felt like eating dessert.

Visited for the first time since the kiosk has reopened. Wow what a difference. Good selection of meals on the menu, food was fabulous, fantastic coffee and the staff were just so friendly and welcoming. Even our dogs were offered treats. Thank you, we will be back the next time we visit Whyalla.
