The older blonde lady was very, very rude. I attended the store to purchase bread buns. When I selected a packet of hamburger buns from the store's bread stand I noted there was a receipt attached. The receipt stated it was for croissants and totalled $18.70.
Concerned the store had inadvertently left a wholesaler's invoice attached to the product, I proceeded to the counter to attempt to query the situation. The aforementioned woman approached me, snatched the buns from my hands and stated "they're sold". I started to explain but the woman cut me off, thrusting the receipt towards me and stating "Can't you read, they're sold". I mumbled something like "I don't think it says that" but she walked past me, grabbed the last remaining packet of buns from the stand and repeated "they're sold", before retreating to the office immediately behind the counter.
If the buns were sold, why were they left in the public area?
The store's response to this complaint stated I made a comment regarding ham and cheese. I have no idea what that comment means as there was no mention of ham OR cheese during the conversation! Not did I ever suggest to sell the items 'out from under' another. Another puzzling aspect of the owner's response relates to the comment regarding the way I left the store. After the incident I didn't leave the store immediately. I went to the checkout and paid for another grocery item. At this point I stated to the checkout operator that the lady had been very rude. I then left the store.
I was appalled at the woman's attitude and I had done nothing to warrant such rudeness. My plans are to remain in the town for some time but I will never return to the store.
P. S. The proprietorship for the local caravan park appears to be the same as the store. For the record, the level of service provided by the manager at the park was excellent ️

One stop shop, if they haven't got it, they'll get it in for you. AMAZING service, friendly helpful staff & owners, highly recommended

Everything you could think of is in this store, from ice cream to chook feed through to groceries and safety equipment and clothes

Stayed in Wilmington (caravan park) for a week. This store has all you need, reasonably priced and the fuel is cheap! The staff where real characters even when under pressure)
Would not hesitate in recommending this place and we will return.

Great local store to get anything you need without having to travel to pt Augusta just for a thing or two, fuel is cheap and we have found it lasts longer for us than other petrol stations (better quality fuel). Delicious fresh local produce and groceries too, it's even a hardware store aswell

This place sells petrol and diesel and many other lines at Wilmington. Including hardware and also groceries newspapers, gas cylinders. Fuel prices are very competitive if not lower than most. Call and find out for yourself.

Well putting things all a side, I was very sick and needed to rest, they have a, water refill and toilets plus a cute little swing set and etc.so for 3 nights they allowed me to recover, as my funds where very limited and could not afford the caravan park. THANK you SJ and JA wild. I love your little town called Wilmington, but the hotel needs updating and lower prices.to tell you the truth, I would love to have rented something, but the so called locals, where very unhelpful, in less you where paying them etc.after spending good money at the hotel, after putting up with sly remarks from so called locals at the hotel. SORRY and never think that I would point the finger at SJ &JA WILD. AS THEY WHERE MY ONLY HELP. I LOVE YOU AND YOUR NICE MECHANICAL SERVICE'S YOU OFFER TO WILMINGTON AND THE PEOPLE THAT TRAVEL THIS COUNTRY. (AUSTRALIA) ALWAYS. PLEASE NEVER CHANGE, NO MATTER WHAT THEY SAY.

Great country store come service station. Fuel including fast flow diesel, small supermarket, food to go, hardware rural supplies including fodder/food.

Stayed at Wilmington with friends and went to Melrose show. The Wilmington garage are super friendly i will give them my money for fuel etc over anyone else who.
