Shedley Theatre reviews
28They have some amazing shows here that are not expensive and you don't have to pay for parking either.
Not a bad place but the seating is awful. Hard and the seat base tilts forward more than it should so gets painful on back and legs after a while.
I went to see The Jersey Boys concert here recently. It's a great venue and the show was great.
Good size stage. Seating area quite steep. Disabled seating is on both sides of seating up high so can't get close to performances. Plenty of parking in shopping centre. Signage is bad, hard to find theatre.
Excellent both to visit and to hire. Very supportive and knowledgeable tech managers. Great venue to see or perform a show, especially with the new renovations!
Great place to grab a coffee and breakfast.friendly staff and great service and great place to chill with friends and family, or go see a show Def coming back for more
Great location in Elizabeth CBD by the Prince George Plaza. See shows and hire the stage for your gig. Library next door as convenient.
Seating not conducive for long shows or people with mobility issues. Apart from that, quite good
Very outdated. The chairs are very uncomfortable. Hard to enjoy a 2hr performance when your back and bottom are sore.
Allows for a good size audience thou.
Great place for small theatre productions our play by Thomas More Annie was fantastic great work kids and teachers.
I am performing there and came for a technical rehearsal. I would say it has nice dressing rooms, reasonably sized stage and pit and decent bathrooms. I like it's location because it's near a Cafe, Fasta Pasta, A library and Elizabeth shopping centre. It doesn't have much seating bit the chairs are comfortable. Backstage is fun. The entrance is a bit hard to access and not much parking. I would recommend. I will give it a four. Because I enjoyed the experience and liked it, others may only find it ok.
I had the pleasure of attend the 'Paris Underground' cabaret show last night. One of the best cabaret shows I've seen.could have easily been sitting in London's Westend! Congratulations to the amazing Mr Andrew Russo for bringing such a classy act to Adelaide!
Seats are ancient and extremely uncomfortable to watch performances. Foyer done up, shame stage etc not fixed upu
This theatre has served the Northern theatre & performance community for decades. It is most definitely time that it was upgraded.
Although well equipped, the changerooms backstage were far too small & there was only one toilet (that I found). It was far too hot & the noise could be heard by the audience.
The stage floor could use some work, especially for ballet, as could the audience seating.
There was also insufficient signage for the entrance & for many it was difficult to determine where the library ended & the theatre began.
There is some work going on, on the building & I am hoping this is a significant upgrade. The area certainly needs it.
Seen my son dance with Avant Ballet for the first time and it was amazing. They also took safety measures due to covid. Very clean and professional
Visited and seen a lot of changes over the years, good venue, plenty of comfy seating, a case for disabled, plenty of parking
I have seen 3 different shows here. There is a small cafe in the foyer where you can buy drinks, snacks etc. However, they haven't been serving coffee when I have gone to shows but there is also vending machines where you can buy coffee. There are always ushers at the doors to direct you to your seat. It is very easy to see the stage from all the seats as it is a small theatre that only seats around 300 people. There is always plenty of parking across the road at the Elizabeth shopping centre.
I saw the Adelaide Symphony Orchestra Christmas Favourites at the Shedley Theatre last night. The performance was fantastic. Acoustics were good and sound system was without fault. I thoroughly enjoyed it.
The promenade was good and shows care has been taken to make it accessible to all. The theatre itself is doing OK considering it's age and the popularity of the venue.
Dare I say it's the jewel of Elizabeth.
Excellent, with good parking options via the shopping Centre opposite + has bus stops very close to theatre. More hand support 4 better & safer balance would B useful at the ends of some isle seats & would be appreciated. There is a handrail on the wall for far end row, folk, wheelchair access & several toilets, which are all good + cafe.
Great set up, comfortable seats.and really enjoyed the show "strictly ballroom " will definitely come again here
