Serafino Wines & Cellar Door reviews
110Got to love it when ur room next door are a bunch of noisy international tourists two nights straight two separate bookings … 1/31 2for2, so 2 strikes ur out.
We had a lovely dinner here. The service was friendly and impeccable, really adding to the entire experience. We enjoyed the food and the portions were generous. The steak and the duck were really well cooked. The wines we had with dinner matched perfectly.
Ricardo was exceptional. He was very very knowledgeable about the wines we tasted. Gave us some good examples. He is definitely an asset
I didn't try the wine but the accommodation was enough. The room and in particular the bathroom was old and in average condition at best. The toilet was probably 30 years old and well past its use by date. There was no shower curtain so water goes everywhere, there was no shelving in the bathroom to put anything. Might want to think about at least changing the washes so less dripping. Location was good.
Went to Serafino for a wine tasting.
The wines we tasted were great. Ricardo was a wonderful host. His knowledge of Serafino wines, of the McLaren Vale area and his general knowledge of wine was fantastic.
Well done Serafin, very well done Ricardo.
Great wine tasting this afternoon - 4 of us really enjoyed informative discussion with our very hospitable server. Thankyou
A beautiful place to spend the day and night, first-class service, the best wines I have ever had, I recommend the Cabernet Sauvignon 20210
Spacious room with a lovely outlook.
A small tv, no microwave and Woolworths home brand crisps ($5 from the mini bar) brought the standard down.
Had an amazing experience here. Gian was so welcoming and friendly. Location was stunning and the wines, well lets just say they certainly stack up to some of the best wines that I have tried!
Thanks again Serafino!
I booked and was reassured that the room was suitable for a disabled person. It was not, was appalling. The toilet was unusable and the only consideration was a shower chair. It was dreadfully disappointing and so bad we only stayed for one night even though we paid for two.
We started our chefs table with a tasting in the wine tasty area … three small amounts in our glass and we were told “ if you have any more you will have to pay extra “
Chefs table at $95 per head, 8 of us
Seriously it was meant to be some amazing gourmet experience
Sorry very average food!
The wait staff Tyson was the only great thing about our experience!
Sorry but nothing like it was 3 years ago and I’m embarrassed that I spoke so highly of the place to interstate guests and had such an average experience.
No wonder the place was almost empty on a Saturday.
Sorry but you need to lift your game lots for the money you are charging.
Would not recommend!
Marty served us last minute and we had our best experience of the day. Most enjoyable tasting of all the wineries we visited and amazing wine to go with it!:)
Booked through wotif - no mention of having to pre book with restaurant if staying when booking accommodation. I honestly thought a staying guest (especially during the week would be able to eat in the restaurant). No mention of reservation being requied at check in however was told about wine tasting times etc. My reason for staying was to eat at the restaurant - explained this and said we are happy to eat in our room but told there was no was the kitchen could accommodate our meals - oh and it would have been only 2 meals as only my daughter and I. I had planned on booking a night here again next week but will never set foot on the grounds again. My apologies for the F bomb at the reception (the other staff member at recpetion smirking did not help matters) but you really did ruin our night away and surely any kitchen can accomodate 2 more meals for a person staying at premises.
Booked the restaurant on Sunday for an early valentines treat and sat outside on the terrace. I can honestly say this was the best customer service I have received since arriving in Oz 13 years ago. The waiters were so attentive without being intrusive, and the food was excellent.
The best part of the place is the entrance to the estate! It's downhill from there! The accommodation is very average and the restaurant is woeful! The food was overpriced and my seafood meal tasted off. When I told the waiter he said" it's crab and it's a strong flavour" and walked off. They served us a wine that was not the vintage we ordered without us knowing and the waiter said " we ran out of that vintage - this from a winery? To top it all they added a $90 bottle of wine that we didn't have to the bill. No apologies from anyone. The breakfast included 1 piece of bread per person, an apple that was rotten and an out of date yoghurt! Don't go there!
which is a strong flavour" and walked off
Very disappointing. Booked 7 people for dinner on NYE, as we're all staying there. Found out 2 weeks before that they're not open for dinner! Only found out because we looked at the website. Absolutely no communication from them. When we rang to ask about it, we were told they didn't have us booked in. The whole reason for staying there was to celebrate NYE on site and the booking was made quite a few months before. An apology would have been nice.
The Cellar Door experience was superb, great staff, beautiful facilities and outstanding Wines.
I was specifically chasing Serafino Award winning Reserve Grenache and fell in love with their Barbera.
Also loved the Serafino regional hero Cab Sav, 2017 on Aroma and 2020 on the Palate.
Very happy with my mixed 6 pack purchase and a generous cheese platter.
Big variety of wines and grape varieties. Many excellent quality wines. Staff was professional and knowledgeable.
The grounds are large and beautiful. Accomodation on premises as well as a restaurant. There is affordable bike hire. It was lovely to explore the natural beauty of Serafino.
Unfortunately had a very bad experience with very poor service. The staff made very rude and passive aggressive remarks to a friend of mine. I was disgusted with the way they handled our situation and would definitely not recommend anyone to waste your money here.
Please show some respect to your customers. Thanks.
Our group visited serafino on Saturday just gone to do a tasting. It was brilliant and the highlight of our trip! The wines were excellent and Cain was so knowledgeable and passionate about all things vino! (We did a mixture of premium and standard tastings for our group). Great host, great wines equals cracking time. Must do in McLaren Vale. Thanks Cain and team!
