23Love the Semaphore Workerss Club so much. Awesome venue filled with good people and excellent bands.
Such a good night.relaxed atmosphere.great musos.nice cheap snacks and drinks.full house.get there early for shows.
Great venue with lots of culture and character. Reasonably priced, and a perfect place to see a local band. A true independent run by passion and camaraderie, check it out.
I use a wheelchair for mobility and attended Lazy Eye on 11th August. The club is old but there is a ramp at the front door. A staff member opened the door and I was placed in a great position to enjoy the music with friends. I was offered a coffee by the manager and he asked a few questions to ensure my visit was great. Well done to the staff at the club.
We went there for a mate's memorial gathering, amongst other's who know.
For us we got to catch up with people we hadn't seen in a while, from the music industry, as our mate was part of.
The staff were polite & respectful when serving us.
They had live bands playing, which spoilt it for me personally, as we were there to remember this muso, & talk with people, but with the band's playing, we couldn't share a conversation properly, so we spent a lot of time outside, at the front, so we could talk with each other.
These type of occasion's are to reminess about times gone by, & catch up with people from those times, as we all grow older, our appearances change, so we don't always resemble how we once looked, or how we may be fairing as time marches on.
Some of us don't see too well, or hear so good, so shouting becomes part of talking with each other, a live band spoils that ability.
We don't go to this club, this is the 3rd time in 50 or more years, since being there.
It was a blues oriented club back then, & isn't any different today.
They do need to present more variety of music at this venue, so more people can attend, but having all their eggs in one basket, segregates people into smaller groups.
For me personally, I prefer a variety of music, this is perhaps the main reason for us not to go there.
As it was a special event for a very special person, it was great catching up with a lot of people we haven't seen in a long while.
What a great place to celebrate my sister in laws 60th birthday, lovely staff, very helpful and attentive, I would highly recommend this place
Came across this bar after being on the beach. Lovely place with a great old school feel. They play blues which isn't my immediate first choice genre, but it ended being a brilliant evening. Highly recommend.
Iconic home of The CPA, overlooking Semaphore Beach, fantastic Live Music Venue, showcasing the best Adelaide Bands, available for private functions. Friendly staff who work hard behind the scenes! Cheers! Marisa
I used to really enjoy the atmosphere and music at this venue. Unfortunately, the management have decided to go down the path of medical aparthied, by refusing entry to those not double vaxxed. I probably should have expected a communist organisation to behave this way but thought the management had better moral standards. My grandmother was a member of the Communist Party and helped establish this club. She would be turning in her grave right now. I'll be waiting until a group of covid positive, fully vaxxed patrons attend this venue, infect everyone, and see what the reaction is. Discrimination of any kind is never ok. I will NEVER EVER give this venue any of my money again.
Semaphore Workers Club is the best live music venue in SA! Just enjoyed Dr Pocket, fabulous blue!
Saw Andrea Dawson sing last night, was amazing, small and cozy place, wheelchair accessible, cheap drinks, all and all was a great night out.
Just saw Chris Finnen live and it was bloody great, the band and the venue was warm and welcoming as usual, very recommended.
Great place for an intamate music show. Not sure about the communist memorabilia. I just ignored it.
This club has live bands on the weekend. Mostly blues and political. Its an amazing club. Has a lot of history of the workers, and their struggles over time.
Great place, staff, great music, fantastic atmosphere, good place for people a little older that still like to listen to live music and party.
I visited there for the first time. First impression was after 5mins changed after the eyes adjusted to the dim light.
Wonderful old paintings and historic scenes on the walls, Che Guevara posters, a billiards table, bar, stage where high class life music was offered.
Staff: lovely and flexible to serve their guests even unusual drink combinations.
Prices: very affordable
Visit there again: for sure
Great place, good vibes interesting artwork on walls some may even say quirky, This old property has some amazing woodwork. Drink prices were great, staff quick and friendly and the crowd friendly. Huge pool tables a good set up and venue would be great to hold functions in.
Went to catch up with family have a bite to eat and watch a local band. It was wonderful to see community support local Adelaide artists, Tin Can Alley and Holler & The Bones band who are representing South Australia in Memphis for the International Blues competition.
An awesome place to listen to live music whilst having a couple of drinks and catching up with fellow comrades. A great atmosphere and a supporter of up and coming bands.
Great music as always but Atmosphere not as friendly anymore.some familiar friendly faces missing
Great venue, laid back and comfortable atmosphere great staff. You can see some really good bands here.
