Secrets by the Sea reviews
72 LOCATION: Great spot just south of Busy Henley Square. Easier to get parking.
BOOKINGS: Would recommend. Apparently you can book the lobster?
MENU: Quite a few options. Plenty of seafood and even some veg options.
STAFF/SERVICE: General wait staff, not really engaging, I’d say uni students doing a job.
FOOD: Food was good. Just missing some WOW factor.
DRINKS: Great stocked bar with plenty of beer wine and cocktails.
AMENITIES: Great
EXPERIENCE: Generally pleasant experience, but nothing to really rave about to freind s.
WILL I BE BACK: Not unless we see some WOW.
MY SUGGESTIONS: Add some more WOW.
We have great experience date night with Nonna. She loved her special oysters salt and pepper squid I had a steak way so big and cook well as I requested for medium rare.
Great food, lovely place overlooking the beach. Service was good, but meals were served a little too fast for my liking.
Scotch Fillet surf n turf, salt n pepper squid, prawn skewers, Morton Bay bugs, oyster kilpatrick.
Enjoyed the whole meal. 1st time dining here and definitely returning.
Excellent spot overlooking the sea & sunset, that would have been imprived if the outside of the windows were washed
I was very optimistic about trying Secrets by the Sea due to it's diverse menu and prime location. The service was great and the restaurant had a nice ambience. Unfortunately, I think the place is a little confused about what it aims to be. It is, as many others have previously suggested, a glorified bistro providing pub quality food as opposed to what you would expect from a restaurant at this price point.
Definitely a 5/5 experience! Great atmosphere with a beautiful view of the ocean; food was reasonably priced, tasted amazing and came out very quickly. Also a special shout out to our waiter, Nick! He provided excellent service:)
Great service from a young crew. You don't need to be a seafood lover to go here. Give it a go. Very reasonably priced wine list
We did catch up with a group of 12 people here.
Food is fine but but nothing amazing, steak came done asked medium rare. The dish were generous.
In the and haven't asked as for last round of beverage but opened the door and while they start to clean up around us make it ouvies that they want us to leave.
Very accomodating as had to change my booking a couple of times. Staff were great on suggestions for wine. Food was delicious and prices were really reasonable. Would come back again!
Wow.what an elite spread.the freshest and most delicious seafood I’ve ever eaten, we will DEFINITELY be back.super tasty, super fresh, super quality, a true dining experience.
Churs.
Brought very good friends to celebrate their up and coming wedding. Food was impeccable and the waiting staff very friendly and helpful. We would recommend this restaurant for a celebration or business meeting.
Glad we booked ahead. A few walk-ins missed out. Lovely evening with very generous servings.
Last minute dinner stop from the reviews already on Google. Great little find with the scallops a fabulous dish, I could have eaten nothing but that for dinner if they would offer that. Whiting entree also nicely done. Decent serves for the meals with the calamari being delicately done instead of over fried. Flathead was good as was the crab linguini. Definitely a nice place to eat.
Partner and I love coming here for special occassions. Our highlights are the Morton bay bag, Seafood Pasta, Oysters and Garlic Prawns (My favourite). Drinks were great too. Had a perfect ocean view on new years eve ️
Had a lovely sunset dinner at Secrets by the Sea. Thoroughly enjoyed the food, the portions were very generous. Had the calamari, garlic prawns, grilled Flounder & scotch fillet. Everything was cooked nicely and the views were amazing. Unfortunately the staff did forget our drinks order and I would have preferred to have gotten our drinks prior to starting our mains but it’s not the end of the world & we still enjoyed our time & the food. Staff were all lovely and gracious and were very apologetic about the drinks situation. If the Coorong Mullet is back on the menu I would love to be back to try that! The flounder was lovely and buttery, the calamari and prawns all tasted fresh & I was very happy with the steam.
Oysters 10/10, Kingfish Sashimi 10/10, White Bait 8/10, Mussel Pot 11/10, Turing the aircon off on a warm night with a 1/4 room of diners at 9pm 0/10 sadly this tainted the end of what was a fine dining experience
Wow if you want delicious seafood come to "Secrets by the Sea" at Henley Beach! Hubby and I were visiting from New Zealand and got a table without booking. The staff were super friendly too! For entree I had creamy garlic prawns and hubby had the scallops. Then the massive Seafood Platter for 2 came out. Everything was absolutely delicious! Thank you for making our first Adelaide seafood meal a great one! I've already recommended our Kiwi mates to come here when they visit Adelaide!
Great night out with friends last Saturday. Fantastic venue, quality seafood and steak with great service from attentive staff. The food is awesome, fresh with generous servings, we did not leave hungry! Also reasonably priced. Our second time here and we plan on many more! If you have a sweet tooth do try the Panna Cotta, superb!

Nice local seafood place. Servings are massive, and service was very good. Shared entree would have fed my entire family and was beautifully cooked. Wine by the glass is limited but ok. Worst was the grilled snapper which was quite over cooked - which was a shame as the flavour was very good. Suggest investing in a meat thermometer (50 deg is cooked fish!). Would have given 5 star otherwise!
