I don't really know how but I encountered the book sale at the church this weekend. As a young person with limited exposure to churches, stepping inside was like crossing into a realm of unparalleled welcome. The atmosphere was amidst of warm smiles and the selection catered to a wide range of interests, including us teenagers. My exact words to my father as i left was "Never have I encountered such genuine kindness from a group of people. " While I have never written a review before, I felt that the laughter and kindness within this church deserved to be recognised.
I attended this venue as part of the Marion Art Group which meets there on Monday mornings while our regular hall at Marino is being rebuilt.
Good flexibility with the buildings but limited car parking.
Bought some books from the book sale, it was a bit disappointing. No recent authors for teenagers. Lots of very outdated books. The guy at the door didn't give me my free book that was posted on Weekend website nor would he bargain. The knitting and the ladies though, were joyous and their baking pretty darn good.
It’s ok, I was hoping for black gospel singers but apparently they don’t do that here.
