Scope Global

Scope Global is a scam, a completely unethical organisation. They managed the government research scholarship I was on whilst I was in Australia. They constantly look for ways to cut your income, and limit your mobility domestically and overseas, which can place a huge amount of pressure on those with overseas family commitments and fieldwork. Others whose postgraduate Australian government scholarship was also managed by scope global had similar experiences, which in my view constitute a form of financial abuse - the constant monitoring and threat that your finances will be reduced. Their staff are not really competent in providing any kind of support, and their main job seems to be to try and cut people’s monthly income, basically your salary/scholarship. I am presuming there is some sort of bonus/monetary gain which Scope Global receive, written into their contacts, when they take away students and researchers’ incomes, a KPI of some sort. Anyway, if you are considering an Australian government scholarship managed by them I would decline it. I am not sure why the Commonwealth Government outsource to them. They do nothing to support the quality of research being funded with public money, and their ways of working are actually damaging to it.

Bullying and micromanagement workplace culture. Beware. Good cause as a business overall but unhealthy workplace environment.
