Sandwich Chefs - Arndale

A very nice and affordable place. I go there for lunch quite often. Always love the chicken schnitzel sandwiches, pork cracklings and the juice:)

The sandwiches are so good, they have a very consistent taste and affordable price. I also like to get the juices as well

We used to regular this place when I worked nearby. Always had great service and the food was excellent.
Been a few times recently and it's really gone down hill. This visit the young staff members were quiet rude, we stood at the counter for 3-4 mins before one stopped what she was doing to take our order, I understand you have deliverys go get out but physical customers should take priority or they end up walking away. At least acknowledge they are there. I ordered a chicken schnitzel roll with cheese and salad. 3 times I asked for cheese and still did not get it added to the order. The roll was also quite stale. All said and done it came to $14.70 for a stale roll, dry overcooked peice of chicken a few strands of lettuce and no cheese.
Unfortunately it only takes 1 bad experience to not return. Or maybe we shouldn't expect much on a Sunday morning?

Huge disappointment, again. Not ordering from this business anymore.

I actually stopped ordering food from Arndale Sandwich Chefs about a year ago because the quality of the food wasn’t acceptable.

One bad experience in the past, I had a chicken and coleslaw sandwich with off/spoiled chicken that my mother had ordered from here on her way to my house. I could smell that the chicken was really bad and I knew immediately that the chicken wasn’t any good.
My mother took it back immediately and told the staff that the chicken wasn’t fresh and was rank.

The other reason why I stopped ordering from here was their consistently horrible undercooked vegetables in the roast meals, terrible quality.

Today I thought I would give this place one more chance since it’s been probably a year now, just to see if the quality had vastly improved. Hoping that it would be good.
I was thinking perhaps they’ll have better cooks now who know what quality control is all about. But unfortunately, No it hasn’t improved at all. Just as bad as my last experience.
Such a let down again.
Pumpkin, carrots and potatoes very undercooked. I’ve had much better quality roast meals from a pub.
Roast potatoes when they’re properly cooked, are supposed to be soft and fluffy centre’s with a nice crisp outside. The potatoes here aren’t even roasted, they’re just boiled or steamed in their skins. I don’t think the pumpkin is roasted either because that tasted like it’s steamed.

Crunchy barely cooked vegetables might be acceptable in a Stir Fry. But this is a roast meal not a stir fry.
The only vegetables that were properly cooked through, was the peas.

For some reason the people here don’t seem to be able to cook vegetables properly.

To add further disappointment, the food last time and today was barely warm, almost completely cold.
Today was an Uber Delivery, and it was delivered in a brown paper lunch bag! You know the type of small bag you get cut lunches or a pie/pasty in? Paper bag was wet and greasy around the edges with spillage!
Where’s the proper Uber Eats delivery bag?
I’m thinking the Uber driver probably wasn’t impressed by getting spilled food in his car and on his hands.
I know I wasn’t happy about it.

This franchise really needs to hire a qualified cook or chef.
Then I think the quality will dramatically improve.
Otherwise I really don’t think this business will survive much for much longer if they don’t make huge improvement in the quality of food. They’re going to lose a lot of customers over time.

Amazingly quality and decent pricing, the best place to eat at Arndale. The carvery (the roast beef & pork with scalloped potatoes, veg & gravy is heavenly)

Ordered a Roast Pork Roll takeaway. When I picked it up, I asked for confirmation of Roast Pork. Got home.and it's NOT what I ordered.
I was given a Roast Beef Roll.
The roll is also a little tough/stale

$14.60 for this meal. First to try, probably the last. Not a fan. Too much potato and 3 thin slices of roast pork with a bit of cracking that wasn’t even crispy.

Not happy at all. They completely got an order wrong. Argued the point with me. Denied making a mistake. I twice repeated the order so it was clear. I will never be returning to eat there ever again. They were rude & disrespectful towards me! Not only have they lost my customer but also my husbands & when I spread this over social media I hope many more.

I would like the manager who owns & runs this business at Arndale to please contact me as I was charged $22.50 for a roast pork roll & a large mocha that my husband had ordered. I was never offended a refund for one of your employees mistake so I was definitely charged for what I had ordered but ever received nor was it offered for them to make another free of charge. The person who served me knew that they had made a mistake, i could tell by the look on their face when I spoke to them about the situation.
I am not impressed at all & would like action to be taken regarding this matter ASAP.
I would like to met with them or a representative at the venue so I can identify the employee responsible for such an awful & dreadful experience. I have been most upset that an employee was very so rude & disrespectful towards me. I was angry and felt intimidated by their response towards me.

I love the food here, especially the Dip'n Sip special they have occasionally (Pho soup with a meat roll to dip!). Winnie and her team always greet you with a smile and leave you feeling special, and of course full in the belly!

This is the best sandwich bar in SA. The pork crackle is unbelievable. They need to open their own restaurant.

Remarkable food. Had a lovely woman named Aida serve me my food very quickly without any problems. Would definitely come back here again!

Coffee is delicious, service is impeccable, super fast and super efficient, plus they're so bubbly and happy. Go the extra mile to check in, you're enjoying your meal. Uncle and I both had a gourmet bahnmi roll and my goodness it was insane delicious.

I came for the coffee and stayed for the crackle.

Such a pretty good choice for enjoying Saturday. Everything is just lovely as their food. Compliment to Mommy chef as usual

If you're at Subway your doing it wrong, turn around and get a real sandwich, delicious, if i could give it 6 stars i would great work team

I regularly have a chicken and salad baguette or sandwich with a cappuccino. Delicious. A bit expensive though. When toasting a sandwich though, the girls don't really toast it enough! So, only 4 stars.

Stunning food! Absolutely delicious. Just a tad more pricy than surrounding shops but you definitely pay for quality and there’s no other place I could have such yummy Chicken Schnitzel Sandwich. Might just the best I’ve ever had

Sandwich chefs Arndale are so good! The roast meat is delicious and so tender. My only criticism is that they are too far away from my house lovely service also!

Whenever I order from here, I find the staff are kind and courteous to all their customers including me.
