Salvos Stores Salisbury

My father brought a whole trolly full of furnitures salvos team watched as my dad took down everything (because his a black man they didn’t wanna proceed to help) They then proceeded to assist another white person with heavy equipment and left him. This absolutely appalling and disgusting service and this should not be occurring in the new year, it just shows that racism is still prevalent within this place. My dad just went to drop off a bed set with heavy frames and boards, when he arrived no one assisted him and they all stared instead of assisting. They then proceeded to assist another white person with heavy equipment and left him. One of a few Salvos I choose to shop at. Walking distance from Salisbury Station, or carparking at the rear & entrance from front and back. A "boutique" section at the John st entrance consisting of mostly women's clothing, priced higher than the rest of the store and cherry picked for their label (but not necessarily their quality). Large range of women's clothes, accessories and plus-size clothing. Usually they have a range of furniture too, as well as media, books and children's toys. Less desirably, a very small range of men's clothes and a jumble of dusty brick-a-brak along the wall. As with all Salvos, the staff are a mix of volunteers and work-the-the-dole so you never know if you'll get a good day with friendly and helpful staff, or impatient volunteers, or rude staff who would rather be anywhere else. Prices have increased in all Salvos stores over the last 10 years, and the volume of rubbish that gets donated has increased, but that's a complaint for Salvos as an organisation (and society, for the latter), not the individual store. I do rate Salisbury Salvos as one of the best in the area, for its variety and range of women's clothes alone.

A decent sized store, with lots of variety.
Good price point and lots to choose from.
Friendly staff and the store was down and tidy.

Expensive on some items I found it untidy today, and wish they would count their jigsaw puzzles and not sell as is

There were a great range of clothes. Everything was labelled well and easy to find.
The staff were so friendly.
Today a witness a young girl helping an elderly gentleman and his daughter who's English was not their first language. She was so patient and respectful while trying to help them. It was great to see.

Large variety of different items, good store layout and friendly service. Have left with a few good finds each time I've come here.

Have been going here for 5yrs and have only recently had to deal with unpleasant service from one person! All the other times I have been in there which is once a week I have found the service quick and friendly! The store is always full mostly of good stock and is always clean and tidy! Has great parking right out front

Good range. Boutique section. One colour is $2 On Mondays and one colour is half price all week. Baskets available. Friendly staff.

Love this store. Its clean, staff are helpful and friendly and the stock is continually turning over. Large store near all sorts of shops and the library.

Clean and not smelly like some second hand stores. Some items are expensive so be careful. This is mainly their new items like nappy wipes and shampoo. Some of the clothes are great but some many would be better off in a rag bag. Stitching undo, out of shape and terribly faded.

Terrible customer service and they treat their volunteers very unkindly. Would not recommend to anyone. Very disrespectful bunch of people.

Wish management would stop pricing certain items from looking on eBay though. Gives the less fortunate less of a chance and it makes no sense?

I'm not a great one for these kind of shops, but very impressed with this store. I was immediately struck by the excellent staff, happy to help, serve & accommodate. As I walked up & down rows of clothing, staff with smiles on their faces would approach to see if I needed any help. Other staff were busy replentishing & pricing stock. The prices were very good & shocked to find many items on special for a mere $2. To my surprise, I left with several purchases & very pleased with the items I acquired. I even purchased my first, Levi's, skinny jeans, lol. I either had a very good day or the people that rated one star the opposite, I would definitely recommend this shop, I felt comfortable & there was a good atmosphere, I'll come back. Cheers.

You put out the grossest clothes dirty smelly and full of pilling and rip customers off. Rude staff at times. Do you keep the good donated goods for yourself? Most of the $2 clothing you sell are car rags. Overpriced ones before the $2 price put on. You're meant to help out the unfortunate but you rip them off. You may have a few browsers but not a lot of sales. And it's the female staff that are rude not the male staff. Won't shop at this place ever.

Love this store, apprsred morr space thisbtime. Racks sprrsd out more. Clean, stafg friendly. Never leave empty handed, even though i vow to every timr.

Great service to those, like me, who can't afford to pay for new clothes or household items
Took my brother in there for a stool. He said why don't you buy a new one. Told him couldn't afford it. While looking he spotted a shower chair. I got the 2 for $11.75 instead of $200+.
Also got my dining room suite there plus more furniture over the years. The suite consisted of an extention table and 6 chairs for $150.
What's more I had a decorative candle holder on the wall with light olive green candles and my vertical curtains are light olive green as well. You may be asking why mention this.well.the chairs of the suite are covered in light olive green vinyl.

I can highly recommend you to buy good quality furniture and clothes here. It's saved me hundreds of dollars.

I've just got share just how amazing I find it that what's so spectacular that the colours matched.

For about three month I was thinking about buying a dining room suite. Every time I went past I said no to myself. I cant afford it this week. This was every Wednesday after I went to Seniors. Then this particular day I said to myself I can afford it this week. Even then I argued the point with myself. I walked in to the shop and turned the corner and there was this suite, an oval table and (I was looking for a round) it was of a light wood and an extention table. I fell in love with it. Right time right place. As I'm a Christian I believe God's provision.

I love op shopping found some great bargains however I found some really overpriced items also therefore 3 stars
