Salvos Stores reviews
23On Friday 15th September, my intellectually disabled daughter went into this store with her carer. She had her 7yo service dog with her. Immediately, a lady pounced on my daughter telling her to GET OUT of the store with a dog. Terrified, my daughter was almost in tears immediately, her carer explaining that it is discrimination to not allow a service dog in a store and proceeded to get her card out to show them. This woman became so abusive that the carer had to take my daughter to safety out of the store before they could even produce her ID. Her ID has a QR code linking to the $10,000 fine if you do not abide by Australian laws such as this woman did. We intend on following through with this discrimination and hope that this woman is also reprimanded for her arrogance and inappropriate behaviour towards customers, especially young adults with significant disabilities.
This store is super stingy and overpriced. The store manager wouldn’t lower a price on a top that apparently was “just put on the rack” that smelled strongly of BO. Another dress I tried on smelled literally of old lady. THEY DO NOT WASH THE CLOTHES BEFORE PUTTING THEM ON THE RACKS. THE STORE MANAGER ADVISED ME OF THIS HIMSELF. He said I would have to wash clothes if I bought them from a regular store and I said yes but they don’t normally smell of BO and these clothes are donated so there’s a huge difference. Visit another store don’t go here.
It was a good experience. Large range of clothes to choose from. Prices could be reduced as it is at other Salvos stores.
Honestly if you wanna buy cheap electronics just save up to get a brand new one because I just spend 3 days going back and forth to this place to exchange a $12 heater that wasn't working to another heater of the same price that seemed like it was working but after 1 minute it was turning off and turning back on every 20 minutes and after all that they just told me they can't do refunds. I can use my hair blow drier to warm up my room better than the ones they have. P. S just an advice, if anything you get from there doesn't work, just get a refund straight away because if you ask for an exchange they won't let you get a refund after that.
Shopped here many many times, with a plethora of mates. Large selection of menswear, which is unusual for opp shops
Dear beautiful people of Adelaide. Great news st Luke's church op shop is open again. Yaaay. It's up the road from salvos on the left. Opening hours 9.30 - 1 pm. Monday to Thursday. It's a small op shop at the back of the church. For one item at salvos you will get 5 to 6 items at st Luke's. All the people at the church are kind compassionate and could really use your business to keep their church up and running. I am on a low income and I make a small donation on top of my purchases and the staff are so happy. Why support the salvos they masquerade as a charity but they are the only so called charity in the world that turn a massive profit every year. Please help st Luke's they could really use your business. They now have EFTPOS. Don't be put off they have no price tags on their items but a $40 item at salvos will be $6-$7 at st Luke's.also at the back of the op shop they have brand new woollen blend blankets. God bless to all in Adelaide City. Please help st Luke's.
They don't actually give low prices for students, I remember struggling to pay for a button up shirt for interviews here 6 years ago, the lady didn't believe I was a student and she said some gaslighting comments. Better off buying brand new and supporting the commercial industry rather than this 'Charity'
Great Experience, Great Range of items, though not a thrift store as such. The prices have risen, I paid $17 for a plain jumper just to stay warm. Though there are definitely those hidden gems to look for as always!
Brilliant! Lots of great stuff!
Must be nice locals supporting and helping out by donating quality stuff!
Thank you Salvos & thank you to all your lovely staff too
Dear community of Adelaide. Instead of paying the exorbitant prices at salvation army. Just up the road in the square. There is a beautiful church on the left. Their opening hours are 9-12 Tuesday to Thursday. For $30 I got 9 army issue blankets. A sleeping bag. Another blanket and unbelievably an authentic single bed size lambs wool cover for $2. They could really use the communities support. The stock on mens and women's apparel is of a very high quality. Please help this church. They are struggling and can use your support.
I love these op shops. Their workers are always so friendly and its great scoring a bargain. The clothes here are priced reasonably and are affordable for anyone who may not have the money to shop at other stores.
First time in that shop for twenty years quite impressed - had what I wanted but showed me something more suitable plus other things
Well organised large op shop with plenty of furniture, clothing and bric a brac. Staff were very helpful.
This is my local op shop and I absolutely love it. Lovely people and great bargains! I can't stay away from quirky finds to great fashion!
The salvo stores are ok but the down side about there stores some of there second hand stuff are bit over priced. I've been told by a little birdie they are NO longer known as a op shop they are now registered as a multimillion dollar business.
Very Pricey!
Lots of clothes and some chunky furniture. Very helpful service and some good bargains to be found. However, some of the plus sizes were very pricey eg a pair of Best and Less worn jeans were $12 when they retail for this or less on special. Some TS clothes were $29 and $20! I bought a pair of TS jeans from Vinnies last week for only $7.
I'm only rating 3 as I've never found anything at this salvos that I wanted. It's a little small but in a good location
I love op shopping, I don't even bother paying full price for clothes when I can find unique clothes which are more stylish & for a fraction of the price. The Salvos do so much good charitable work for people in need & Im happy to continue to support them.
Large salvos with mainly clothes. Limited parking out the front but always great variety and friendly volunteers.
Spacious store, with a large range of every thing from clothing to furniture. We call in quite often and every time we visit, most of the range keeps changing. So you never know what you might find. Staff are helpful, good to visit.
