Salvos Store / The Salvation Army Thrift Shop reviews
18Drove all the way here only to be told there's no appointments available. Wasn't even 9am when I walked in. Absolutely disgusting behaviour from these women who are meant to work at this organisation. Won't be returning ever again. Avoid this place and go elsewhere.
Best thing is the shed outside where everything is $1 or less.
The main store is mostly overpriced, you can find the rare thing thats truly worth the price theyve put. Ive seen many, many Big W or Kmart (anko etc.) brands in there for $5-15.more than they would be brand new from the original store, it makes no sense.
Half the time I only go in the main store to pay for the shed stuff or because the shed is closed, its barely worth the effort looking through everything in the main store anymore.
A great place to go if your in financial difficulty.
I was treated with respect to which I was elated.
After the counceling I was given a $30.00 Coles food voucher and 4 visits to the food bin. Highly recommended this place if your in need of help.
I buy everything I need for myself; my family and friends; from this wonderful op shop! Great; friendly staff; and great prices!
Only 1 star because of the shed outside.
Have barely gone in the main shop for YEARS because it's way too expensive and the staff can be quite rude in there.
Then have way too many staff and I genuinely hope none of them get paid with salvos money, they don't deserve it with the service they provide.
I've had to stand there and listen to them turn down MANY MANY people who clearly need help, some were homeless.
I don't understand why they can't give out free food stamps or free clothes when the Salvos themselves get that stuff FOR FREE and has plenty of DONATED GOODS that they put no money into.
Even if they truly couldn't help with things it's free to be compassionate and nice.
Looking at other low rated reviews, it's clear to see this Salvos staff sdiscriminate on poor/disabled people. Disgusting to see.
Such great things here.donations gratefully accepted and a huge selection of used goods and clothes for sale at.very.reasonable prices.love it!
Nicely set out in store. Parking no problem. Handbags shoes crockery necklaces books etc. Don't think it has furniture but may know where you can get some.
A smaller salvos but a great range! They have a ton of clothes and books (among other things of course) theyll sell some books for 20c each and often have sales going with certain items, most of the staff are kind and have a smile on their face!
Because there is a amazing culture of family and community, a place where you are welcomed without judgement
Caring wonderful and encouraging people. Friendly. God's word is preached according to the Bible and with love and care towards all attending.
It's not a postcard weekday mornings, with the people lining up for assistance, but the staff are superb!
You would think they would care about someone sleeping on the floor with two mattresses and having a disability I end so sick all the time they supposed to be caring people but they dont't. What are your thoughts?
Really appreciated all the help i recieved, i entered 10 mins before close.and picked up a whole plate/bowl set. They wrapped every single item in paper and we walked out 20 or so mins after close. Amazing prices and amazing service.
Over joyed with the inter action with the sincere womens assistance i had they bent backwards to do what ever i needed for me to get back on my toes.i thank them to the bottom of my heart i could not have been where i am today with.out them and their perseverance.
CR is a 12step based program, in my opinion it would close all inpatient psychiatric, if people come and give it a go.
Good second hand shop.
Church services.
Music.
Counselling.
Food assistance.
Plus many other functions.
Because I volunteer there, it's a great shop to discover what item you can find at a fantastic price.
Good stuff, but why are salvos so expensive now? This store offers sales regularly though- unlike some of the others.
