Royal Copenhagen Glenelg

The attendant gave me an extra cup for our couple scoop cone after I asked to pay for an extra cup, free of charge. I thought that was very kind.

Ice creams are always great. Love that there are vegan options.
Store layout is terrible. People that have been waiting for ages are left waiting while people that just walk in are served straight away all because there is no line or system for serving customers. You can walk in any door and stand around the counter and just hope someone serves you or be rude by pushing in front of people to get staffs attention. I walked out with my family today without buying anything because I kept getting ignored by staff and could see other people getting just as annoyed. The store at Henley Beach is much better. There is a line system. If you are lined up outside the store they have a menu you can see of all the flavours to keep the line moving quickly. I won’t be returning to the Glenelg store unless they change the way they serve customers.

Ice cream was great, group of us had the donuts and ice cream and I’ve had their shakes before. All great and love it. Only problem was how bloody slow the staff is. It took a staff member several minutes to get one scoop of ice cream, the donuts didn’t even get started despite the girl by the area not doing anything and the staff were slow with the till. The staff were all younger and I can appreciate nerves but a sense of urgency would be appreciated when it takes more than 5 minutes to make only two servings of ice cream. You don’t need 5 staff on in the same area, you need a staff who know when to actually move. Pre annoyed cause the staff were lovely and everything else was great.

I was in a hurry in Manly, Sydney, so I missed these guys, but luckily bumped into them in Glenelg, Adelaide, and got my second chance! The banana fudge flavor was basically sold out, but I didn't give up (cause banana is my favorite ice cream flavor) since I saw that there is a tiny bit left on the edges of the container and managed indeed to get a kids cup filled xD It was plenty for me in the end. They had a toppings bar where you can add chocolate sprinkles and chocolate sauce on your ice cream and I surely did, but apparently didn't quite know how to use the sprinkle machine as most of the sprinkles dropped on the floor, sorry about that. Also, I prefer soft sprinkles and these were hard (as they usually are), so I wouldn't necessary add them next time. When will my next time come, though - I am not sure since I'm sad to learn that Royal Copenhagen is not located in Melbourne CBD which is the most convenient location for me: (Anyway, try their banana ice cream and fall in love! Banana with added chocolate seems to be a typical ice cream flavor in Denmark as I haven't seen it in any other ice cream bar in Australia (except that other Danish ice cream company with their chocolate chip banana) and I've surely tried many of them.

Good ice cream. I prefer the scones. Waffle seems not to be freshly cooked so it is not my favorite

Hot cinnamon donuts are always great. Mocha is a tad on the too sweet side for me, but, if you've got a real sweet tooth you'll enjoy it. Staff friendly.
