Overall, quite an average experience. A group of 9 of us had a high tea on Saturday morning.

Most of the staff were far from hospitable. We felt largely ignored by staff members and were left waiting far too long to even order drinks. At one point it felt as if they were purposefully ignoring our table.

In terms of food, the sweets and scones were great, but the savoury options were mostly bland and underwhelming- especially for the price. And to top it off we noticed small ants in our food! The staff member we notified sent out fresh food but we were all slightly put off eating at this point.

Also, the 9 of us were unable to split the bill (we could only split 5 ways). This needs to be communicated far better- especially for larger bookings.

Unfortunately (despite some nice staff members and great sweets) we won’t be returning or recommending a high tea here.

It was our friends birthday breakfast celebration at Riverside restaurant. My sister booked for about 25 or more people, I was quite impressed with the service especially with Chef Vivien Lee and Chief Annaya they try to get out of there way to make sure we are all satisfied and happy. They were very attentive and the food was delicious and fresh. Definitely love to come back at Riverside restaurant.

When you order a $65 risotto you would expect it would be a traditionally made risotto. But what we got was an over cooked porridge like rice swimming in cream. The chef should stick to dishes he/she can cook.

We only had pre dinner drinks before going elsewhere for dinner. Also had after dinner cocktails which were delicious. Would look to dine there next time we stay.

Went to the riverside restaurant last night for dinner and was so let down. Ordered the eye fillet steak with mash and broccoli and was so let down on how small the portion was as it said eye fillet streak and got three measly pieces instead. Also ordered the south Australian blue swimmer crab linguine and was also dry and the crab did not taste fresh at all. Was so let down that it was such a nice looking restaurant with such poor food

We went for the high tea last Saturday. We were truly impressed by their first class customer service that made us feel so welcomed. It reminds me of my best experience in the air and also at the Intercontinental Hotel back in Hong Kong. They were very attentive to our need, gave us eye-contact as we were talking. I recall receiving the same training when I was just a casual at DKNY many years ago. It made us feel so special. The front of house manager Joan was filling in to help out and serve us as we arrived. Lauren the beveridge manager at the restaurant led a great team including but not limited to Noel.

The musician has been playing the grand piano at the hotel for 4 years now. His live music just added so much to the whole experience.
Thank you great team. I surely will be back next time I come back to Adelaide.

Visited the Riverside Restaurant for breakfast this morning, 25min wait for undrinkable coffee in damaged and chipped cups (cold long black. Cold, burnt soy latte). There was almost an hour wait for food. The benedict was served with way too much hollandaise and the egg was undercooked. Would not recommend.

Experienced the High Tea and now the High Coffee. Such a lovely setting, views of the river would be more beautiful when the renovations finish & the construction fences come down.
The restaurant staff were lovely but weren’t too attentive as you would expect at such a restaurant.

Had a terrific experience last week. Very friendly staff Yuki and Tim made us feel at home. Had the three course meal with all three courses being above expectations. Very tasty. The signature coconut moose is to die for. Will go back. The wine Tim suggested was perfect as well.

Spacious and modern restaurant that’s seldom crowded, but still the food takes a long time to come. Staff is pretty friendly. Food was good. I had Lobster Parpadelle which was delicious! The oysters gave me a slight tummy ache later on in the night though.

Food was appalling overpriced, undercòoked slimy flounder swimming in too much melted butter. How could you make such a mess of such a great fish? Drinks were overpriced $21.80 for 2 Coronas your kidding that's half a slab. Yep.wont be back.

We greeted by a polite waiter Malo and walked us to our table and she explained the menu to us and offered her recommendations. We started off with Crispy Tofu with daikon, eggplants and mushroom as a entree to share, everything on the plate marriage well. Then its followed by Pan Fry Salmon (perfect crispy skin on the salmon) and Lamb Shoulders (lamb was very well cooked, onions works well compliment the lamb dish), served by the Chef itself, Vivian. She was very polite and seeking for feedback for the new menu. Last but not least, the cheesecake with stewed apricots and sorbet inside. Cheesecake, sorbet were sweet but fresh strawberries compliments the sweetness of it, not sure about the apricots syrups as it is too sweet for me. Overall dining experience was great experience.

Food was good. Service non existent terrible for the standard if an International hotel. Sure it was a public holiday but it was not very busy.

Went for first time for friends birthday celebrations. We went so she could experience "fine" dinning. This restaurant disappoints, there was no table cloths on tables & our tables were at different hights the cutlery clearly was not polished to even pub standards, the food was.ok nothing to write home about as was the service. I felt cold the whole night even after asking for the heat to be turned up.
I wouldn't bother going back.

My wife and I have dined at the Riverside Restaurant at the InterContinental on many occasions. Everything from the menu, food and waiting staff, make an enjoyable dining experience. We highly recommend dining at the Riverside.

Very impressive, great value!

Had the best time celebrating my sister's 40th today with high tea. Our waitress Lauren was welcoming and interacted with us well.

We selected the standard package and there was an abundance of food, a good variety of sweet and savoury. Even the gluten free option was very impressive, and did not make me feel like I was missing out on anything. This even included a couple pastries!

One downside was the gluten free bread. You can get really soft gluten free bread these days but this one was not enjoyable.

Towards the end of our high tea we did feel a little 'forgotten'. No one came to ask how we enjoyed ourselves or anything that would generally be asked towards the end of a meal.

Would definitely recommend however. Looking forward to visiting again sometime.

Breakfast buffet is really good. They have a variety of croissants and pastries. The staff is really friendly.

I was very disappointed with the lack of service received for my hens/bridal shower this weekend. No one greeted us when we arrived - did not receive our ‘champagne upon arrival’ - went to the counter several times to say guest were all here.had to ask for service many times. No one explained the menu and how it all works.kept having to ask for our drinks. I was the guest of honour was offered 1 cup of coffee the whole time.then there was no milk.which got dumped on the table eventually. No one was attending our table of 15 people properly. Most of the desert food seemed dry and not fresh. As I said - very disappointed and would not recommend a high tea here for a special event based on the lack of service. Also our table was setup outside of the actual restaurant.basically in a walkway.online information says ‘unlimited tea and coffee’ - definitely wasn’t unlimited - quite the opposite - bare minimal.
