54Great Publicans at this Pub. A group of 15 lobbed without reservations for lunch on our way back from the Coorong. They already had a large group booked but they went out of their way to look after us and followed up after we had eaten to make sure everything was ok. Great food and service!
Can't comment on rooms as didn't stay. The meals arrive quickly and were OK. The staff were excellent and friendly. The dining room has a bit of an odour.
The Shitnzel was over cooked. Being charged $5 for pepper gravy and not being informed it was at that price to me was a bit rude. I would not brag about this place.
So I had tea at said hotel. I decided to order the “riverside grill thrill”. It mainly cosists of beef pattie bacon pickles and “secret sauce” the patty was only half cooked and the bacon was pretty well non existent and the pickles were cut too thick for it to be enjoyable. I also asked one of the staff for two dead lizards. She had no clue. I thought to myself oh she must be new or inexperienced until I heard that she had been working here for a while from a regular customer. Our table also received multiple dirty looks through the night. Over all would recommend somewhere else
Stayed one night en route to Melbourne. Staff were lovely and very friendly. Great service and meal. Room was clean and comfortable. Had the ensuite room and very reasonable price. Better than most pub hotels and would stay again.
Had the family room, only one with ensuite. Heater didn't work. Light had blown. Tiny ensuite.comfortable bed. Staff didn't care about broken heater. No off street parking. Hotel meal was delicious, staff friendly. Would not recommend the accommodation. Most expensive night too.
Very good for a highway side pub and small town, give the parmi an 8/10. Decent portion, delicious Nap sauce and great veg selection on the side. Big fan of the chips/onion rings mix, unique and tasty! Will drop in again soon and can recommend to anyone passing through. Cheers
Food was excellent and very filling! Well worth coming back to. We sat outside as it was lovely weather and and equally as lovely view!
Food was awful coles pizza base, Thai salad with no Thai ingredients other than dressing. Understaffed, food took 40 min on a quiet day. Won’t be back.
Hotel accommodation was good, however I inadvertently left my hoodie jumper in the room (6) when I checked out. I returned to the premises the next day and then a further 3 times over the next few days and gave my details to 4 different staff members and spoke with the manager who informed me that he was too busy to help but would call me. It has now been over a week and still no call from the manager. All the staff I spoke with knew about the hoodie jumper that the house keeper/cleaner found in the room and placed it in the managers office. This manager needs to be educated about customer service. I will not be returning to this hotel.
Went there at 1.30pm staff looked very annoyed as they closed at 2. Place had beautiful outdoor seating looking at the Murray River which had 3 people sitting out there and no one seated in the restaurant we were told to sit at table 3 directly behind the people out side so out view was their backs meal was nice all plates were pounced on the second cutlery was put down staff definitely wanted to go
I had a burger here and must say the food was outstanding. The only thing I wasn't keen on was the wire serving plate with paper lining, with a burger so generous in size it is difficult to eat from the hand and a firm paper free plate would be the go, and yes I did use my bread plate in the end. But to reiterate, excellent food and service, I'll be back.
Lovely view of river from restaurant and the food was good as well - pub food but brilliantly cooked and served. Staff very friendly and helpful. Rooms small but comfortable.
Great views of the Murray
Fabulous food
Apple salad definitely different and delicious
Ate at the restaurant, plz do yourself a huge favor and eat at otr before here, microwaved awful chips, rotton over ripe salad, and a parmy tbh that you would be embarrassed to feed your dog. If you find yourself starving please try on hold on to get something anywhere else
Not as good as use to be buffet way better salad was rubbish schnitzel way to thick tuff seafood salad with schnitzel not good combination
Nice and clean could do with new curtains to much light coming though, another kettle as it leaked at
The bottom room 10 another wise had a good time
There was only 1 person serving so there was a bit of a wait but it was well worth it. Good service considering how much 1 person was doing.
Havent visited this lovely old country pub in years and was delighted it had undergone a tasteful upgrade without losing that country feel!
We lunched on the verandah taking in sweeping river views. Food was excellent and the menu was varied. Service out onto the verandah was no problem.
Ate here with friends for lunch.as most of us are seniors we chose to have the schnitzel from the seniors menu (main, fries and salad plus ice cream sundae @ $13.90). When it turned up it was half a schnitzel! Dessert was 1 ball of ice cream. Salad was also poor. Small portions indeed. A full schnitzel was $16.90. If you offer seniors portions please order smaller schnitzels.do not cut normal ones in half.remember you eat with your eyes first and it is those impressions that count.
