Ricky's Chicken Rice North Adelaide reviews
25The best Hoinan chicken rice you can find in Adelaide! Loved that they offer different combinations to go with the meal, eg steamed or fried chicken, rice or noodles and choices of chicken portion. Also, we’ll never have enough of the hk style iced lemon tea. Yum!
Impeccable and super friendly service. Combination laksa was one of the best I’ve tried in Adelaide. Recommend to go here for a quick feed!
Excellent restaurant.
Had Char Kwai teow and steam chicken rice.very delicious and reasonable price.keep up the great work!
Saw plenty of good reviews so gave it a shot. Ordered half a chicken and rice, chicken was overcooked, chicken sauce tasted a bit burnt, chilli sauce plus ginger and spring onion sauce were all not authentic. The seafood laksa soup had too much coconut milk and not enough flavour Mee goreng looked more like Hokkien noodle and doesn't have enough “wok hei”. Hong Kong style lemon tea again too sour and taste of tea was not strong enough.
Overall I'm puzzled at all the good reviews but each to their own. For me though this will be an unfortunate one off.
Nice (obviously popular local Asian eatery - full restaurant with a line up) chinese eatery specialising in Hainan chicken rice. We ordered the double serve of chicken and rice, char kway teow and fried rice. The chicken portion is generous and all dishes were tasty. The chicken rice is not exactly authentic but they do have their own unique flavour (have to say it was nice). The sauces was also interesting but probably can be a bit more spicy for Asian taste. The standout for me was actually the hot coffee milk tea (very aromatic). It is definitely worth a try if you are in the area.
Best comfort food ever. The service, food quality, price everything in point. Like the fact that the menu is limited but they know what they are cooking and they cook it best
Ordered through Uber eats
Had the steamer chicken and rice and the char Kwai teow combo with blue lemonade. Both dishes were delicious and good portions and the soup that came with it was so tasty. Nothing to fault and will be regular customers from now
Great value for money
Great food. Loved the chicken Laksa. Went back a second night and had wonton Laksa which was great also. A new favourite. Good prices too.
Only tried their full set chicken rice. Quite like it. Keen to try other dishes next time. Bring cash to avoid card transaction fees. They can be quite busy during lunch time.
Legit singapore/malaysian food if you’re craving for one. It was busy when we came but worth the wait and the service was good. Will definitely be coming back
Good quick meal. Hate that the serve the chicken warm deliberately wish they would blast it before serving
Rickys Kitchen is a gem of Adelaide serving very good Malaysian food.
Wholesome flavours, amazing laksa and very juicy chicken.
5/5 would recommend
Been meaning to come here for ages, everybody only has good things to say about it. Was not disappointed at all. Tastes like home. Love the green sauce
Have it 3 times a week, still never get bored.
I just want to buy a house close to the restaurant.
The chicken noodle is my favourite, the soup is so tasty, I just feel home.
There is an art in doing something so perfect and that is what they do! Their steamed chicken and rice is our favourite, we have been ordering for a few years now and it is always the same dish we love. A big plus if trying to keep healthy too! Thank you so much Rickys, we will stand by your business for years to come.
Yum yum yum… happy tummy. Affordable, value for money and very tasty authentic asian food. Friendly and very courteous wait staff.
Ricky's Chicken Rice was a recent discovery for me. It's a non-descript little eatery on O'Connell St that has a good following of local customers. What it lacks in decor is more than made up for the generous servings of consistently yummy Malaysian dishes, such as the laksa and Hainanese chicken rice.
I highly recommend ordering the Hainanese chicken rice. I've had laksa here twice and they never scrimpt on the ingredients, meat, sauce, flavour.
I'll keep coming back to try other dishes on their menu.
Generous meals to be had here. I am particularly fond of the Char Kwai Teow and the Mee Goreng. Good value and tasty. Good service too!
Great place to eat south East Asian food. The combination Laksa was big and very tasty. The chicken rice was a bit small in portion.
I don't really recommend booking for more than 5 people as the restaurant size is quite small. Parking might be difficult in North Adelaide.
Nothing too special here, I was expecting more flavour and it didn't have the 'yum' factor. Just a one off for me.
