Rawnsley Park Station reviews
33Had an amazing experience here. Rooms, service, restaurant, pool and location were all incredible. No complaints whatsoever!
Brilliant place to base yourself with in the Flinders Ranges. The woodshed restaurant has a superb menu, a lovely bar, and fantastic staff who are always happy to help.
The unit was clean and tidy and gave homely vibes. You can see Sunrise from your balcony or go for a short/ long hikes up the hills. Overall it was good stay.
I traveled down from QLD and visited Rawnsley Park Station. I stayed in an eco villa, which has a kitchen so we could self-cater. It was a very nice place to stay, and had fantastic views.
Disappointed as we didn't go to do self catering (meaning we had no food with us). We got there just after 6.the shop was closed so couldn't get anything from there and then went to the restaurant and this was fully booked, we ended up going to Wilpena Pound resort for dinner.
Pool was amazing, and rooms very spacious and clean.loved that the Aircon was on when we arrived, which made the room a very pleasant place to be.
I stayed here last year while I was on a solo roadtrip with my dog. People were lovely and I had the best nights with fellow travellers. I set my tent up next to a damn with an incredible view of some mountains. Cant wait to come back
The only disappointment was the last minute cancellation of the booked flight for our daughter's 50th. Chinta need to lift their game and improve communication.
Absolutely Amazing place and even though we stayed in peak time, it was worth it. View from eco villa was amazing, absolute attention to detail was spot on. Many thanks Tony and Julie for providing the amazing Dukkah and wine, it was really worth every drop.
We had the chance to stay in Eco Villa for a day and then jumped back to standard unit, both had their own charm. Standard rooms can be looked slight bit more, not in terms of amenities bit just the maintaience part, which can make it even better experience.
Other than that, very satisfied with the stay and locale, beautiful place to enjoy Sunset and Sunrise. Network is a bit of problem but of you consider this beforehand, that should be fine.
Overall, highly recommended to stay by on in the bounty of nature and mesmerizing scenery and immerse yourself in the unparalleled views and hospitality. Thanks again Tony and Julie for looking after us in such a grande style. We will be back again and would love to meet you guy's.
This a must if your going to wilpena pound staff very helpful we had trouble getting flights but that was our fault we should have booked a week or so before we got there
Excellent accommodation options from camping/caravanning to upmarket units. It's a great base to explore the Flinders Ranges and Wilpena Pound. The Woolshed restaurant is also excellent. Definitely need to book in advance.
Great facilities and helpful staff. Can easily access walks with great views. Because it has some "out of the way" caravan sites, many visitors were leaving on external lights to navigate their way around rather than using head torches. So the park is lit up like suburbia, which ruins night sky viewing.
Toilets and showers were a 10 minute walk, they claim to be a gday parks but when you try to redeem your rewards they say that this is a privately owned park, the dirt track in was Preety rough, showers were weak and it was $45 for a family of 4, view was beautiful though so an overall 2 stars
Not too bad, but was more to my liking years ago, but now is very busy to accommodate the new travellers.
Great place to stay clean and tidy amenities, helpful staff. The Flinders Ranges and Rawnsley Park do something to your soul you won't want to go back home.
A very nice place, BUT I stayed in cottage 13 and there was a constant smell of effluent outside, when I walked between the cottages. I mentioned it to reception and was told No one else had complained. I find that hard to believe. If the smell was eradicated I would highly recommend this place.
Amazing views, showers are nice,
Good service.
Deffently recommend the helicopter ride
Great 'base' from where to explore the surrounding Wilpena Pound and the various gorge drives in the Flinders Ranges. Fuel and shop located in the camping area. Swimming pool and helicopter flights available on site. Comfortable accommodation.
Very poor. Booked 2 nights here, and they failed to inform me to book their on-site restaurant as its in the middle of nowhere. Arrived to find its booked out. Seriously. Cabins are extremely very basic and expensive for what is offered.
We stayed in a cabin for 2 nights.
The cabin was large with a comfortable bed and good facilities, including air conditioning.
Each cabin has a large front balcony.
Tank water is supplied in a separate tap near the sink. There are clean gas BBQs available.
The only issue is that all the roads on the station are dusty which can coat the balcony with dust due to traffic. Some suitable road base material would reduce this problem.
Try and book a room at the end of the road to limit dust.
Overall we were happy with the accommodation.
We had 1nt unpowered camp site and 1nt helicamping.
Definitely worth the cost to do the helicamping. The stars are like nothing else. We also seen rock wallabies in the morning.
Only complaints
1. Unpowered sites aren’t allocated, slightly difficult if you arrive after dark
2. Showers arent warm
3. We received no communication regarding food or drink preferences for the helicamping. The dinner wasn’t very nice but breakfast provisions made up for it. We also went and bought things to take up as we didn’t know what we were getting.
Also note we were dropped up there at 4pm and it was really hot and no shade.
