Rabbit Warren Bakery reviews
24Popped in for breakfast since I had an early start, the bacon, egg and cheese sandwich was awesome, and the staff was friendly. Great experience, definitely recommend it!
Goto for many, definately a fav of mine, many good options although I tried the Hawaiian pie yesterday and definitely not a fan, think they need to go back to the drawing board for this one in my opinion.each to their own though as always.
Pies were good, disappointed that our apple bun was still partly frozen and wasn’t cooked fresh for a bakery.
Went to this bakery this morning with my family and we had pasties, peppersteak pie and some sweets and everything was very nice. The staff were very friendly also. Would definitely recommend.
Nice traditional bakery with a variety of sweet and savoury snacks, and drinks. We did a quick stop to grab a couple of items for the drive to Flinders Chase National Park - the Guinness Pie was yummy with a good flavour and huge chunks of tender beef with a touch of capsicum. The beef and mushroom pie had a decent amount of mushrooms.
The pie pastry is the type that is sturdy and ideal for holding in hand i.e. It does not fall apart on you as you eat it out of the paper bag! If you’re looking for delicate puff pastry or crumbly shortcrust, this is not it.
We got doughnuts as well and this is the variety that is bread-y and substantial - a nice brekkie if you ignore the health aspect.
It is so yummy in here, all hand/home made. Worth making the stop for your lunch or snack you won't be disappointed and U will find something that will entice your appetite. Staff are friendly and professional.
Good spread of savoury, sweets, warm, cold, small and large bakery treats. Coffee. Kid friendly. Indoor and outdoor seating. I had an apple scroll that was made from bread dough, and they buttered it. There is no reason you shouldn’t go.
This bakery is best for coffee and pie toast whatever you need for breakfast, lunch it’s the best one we stayed in Kingscote for a week and this was the first place in the morning we used to come. And the customer service is in its top very respectful and lovely people.
Best Belgium hot chocolate we ever had. We had them three consecutive days. Vegetarian have options as well to buy. Pies and pasties have nice big sizes. We liked the opening timings. Very friendly staff.
You ought to try the Belgium Hot Chocolate, milk or dark, doesn't matter.tasty af.
Clean and tidy place with a gorgeous outside space.

Very scrumptious food. Lovely lady served us. Hubby had apricot scroll plus pasty. I had last spinach & feta cheese slice plus last Zucchini &carrot cake. Highly recommend
Great food, lovely staff, nice outdoor seating area. I love a pie in a country town and this one was 5 stars.
Great coffee and goodies to eat but no bread. Very tidy cafe decor and facilities and of course, great service.
Pepper pie was really good, beautiful tender chunks of steak with a well balanced pepper gravy. The cheese kransky was also excellent. Will be returning to try their other fair.
Ok i returned recently (actually twice) and l now have an all out new best pie ever. The guinness pie is by far the best ive tasted. Ever. Picture attached i couldn't believe it. Just about need a knife to cut the beautiful steak chunks i asked for 6 cold to take away and share the experience with others.
Only Bakery on the island. Has a good selection and friendly service. Bit pricey, but expected given it's KI.
Note: Bakery recently moved from Daucey to Murray Street.
Doesn't look like much from the outside but it has great food, great coffee and great service! Love it
Visited this bakeshop during my Kangaroo Island trip. Heard it had very good meat pies and sausages. I found they were ok. Wanted to compare their donuts to the Port Elliot bakeshop and found that I still prefer the other one. Their donuts were nice and fluffy nonetheless.
The store was clean, service was friendly, however the donuts were extremely heavy for a treat that is meant to be airy and light, the one I received was twice as heavy than a note 20 phone. I was extremely surprised to have a chocolate sponge with the lamington and has been the first bakery in Australia I have visited to do so and now I know why. I know you are the only bakery in kangaroo island but I can't understand when you have such a big store and yet cook at the old store still. Some changes with the recipes will certainly improve the taste and repeat customers.
What sort of bakery doesn't sell bread. Shouldn't be allowed to call it a bakery if no bread. Maybe pattiserie would be more appropriate.
Friendly service. Sausage Rolls were good. Plenty of room to sit and recharge. Lots of pie options and cakes too.
