Queen's Theatre reviews
28Great venue. Knowledgeable staff on the bar - though it's Australian-expensive. The sound quality was good and the musicians excellent, they seemed well supported by the staff at the venue. Shame about other patrons who disrespected the support artist and other members of the audience by talking loudly throughout. No wonder we don't get great acts with that kind of rubbish. I wish venues would do more in terms of codes of conduct and enforcing them, to protect the experience of other patrons and performers and kick those idiots out.
A great space. I saw Big Echo and six other bands playing the "Rites of Spring" event here. The sound was excellent. The atmosphere was relaxed. The bar was stocked with great beers and wines. I highly recommend keeping an eye on Queen’s Theatre for upcoming events. Please check out my website therecordingstudioguy dot au for my blog and info about music and voice recording, mixing, and mastering in a great sounding studio space.
Quaint how they've done up this old girl in a really trendy way to keep using her for performances and a bar next door for drinks and socialising before or after shows was a great idea and looks so cool way it was setup.
Really cold in here in the evening. We had fun here for our stage show debut. Would like to come again. Too bad there ain’t lots of shows here in Adelaide.
Nice venue for theatre performances, good vibe and lovely bar area. However, they need to seriously consider putting in heaters into the actual theatre part. Went to Tick Tick Boom on Saturday afternoon and it was FREEZING. Everyone was wearing full snow gear, scarfs and beanies, even then I was still cold. Don't need heaters in the waiting area, need them in the theatre!
Wish there were multiple entrances to the main theatre. Otherwise a great place to watch the perfect shows.
Friday Lounge was great, what a gem tucked up in the lane way. Great atmosphere and decor, friendly team.
Often something unexpected and arty going on. The music is chill. No cash at the bar, card only.
I went to the Queer Formal here recently, and it was absolutely wonderful. It’s a great space and an epic venue for many things. I loved it
This is always a fun venue, and the show was great. We had an issue with disability accessibility. We'd booked our tickets specifically for a wheelchair accessible space and was told by email that would be organised, but when we arrived it wasn't. It was handled ok once we raised the issue, but really should have been sorted before we arrived as it was an inconvenience for everyone involved and also embarrassing.
Great atmosphere in this old theatre in the back streets of the Adelaide CBD. Loved the pre-show entertainment in the dimly lit lounge area- once we moved into the show itself we were well entertained- only issue is the seating in the theatre itself is a little uncomfortable and very closely packed.
If not for volunteers pointing out queens theatre we would have missed this special light display
Don't expect a lavish theatre, it is old. But the performance we saw called BLINDNESS was amazing and suited this theatre perfectly.
Great artist/artisan market on the weekends. The setting is spectacular, almost wish there was no renovations plan. There was a street party on the day of my visit, with truly amazing tacos! Worth having a look
The Designer Market was generally over-priced. However, the Queens Theatre had lots if character. The man selling stained glass Christmas Ornaments was great & his prices were VERY good.only $6 each!
Sophisticated marketplace that caters to all walks of life. Thriving metropolis that seems to revel amongst the best of them. Daring, yet subdued. Hilarious movie nearby, lots of opportunities as well. Glad to know when I'm back in town this way again I've got a friend (or three) indeed! Thanks Queensland
Very atmospheric. Staff above wonderful. Be careful of uneven floor though if you have mobility issues. Take it slow and enjoy.
AnimeGo 2021 organiser made the mess on the queue line. Form 1 line to 2 lines now most people have to wait longer to get in. Not happy!
What an experience full of local craft and foods. Worth dropping in to see and a $3 donation for z good cause worth it. Get out and do something different in the city, embrace the old world feel.
Magnificent- fine acoustics, awesome ambience and a lovely building. Some of the best Adelaide Fringe programming around
