Pt Noarlunga Fish Shop / Jimmy's Fish & Chips reviews
66Fantastic friendly service with amazing seafood. The prawns are fresh and the calamari is up there with some of the best. Scallops are big and juicy. Definitely a recommended feed.
Great service and the best fish and chips in SA (real chips - not just fried frozen oven chips).
See below for VEGAN options.
Steak SW nice
BUT the chips, omg, wth were they?
They were old, chewy, oil clearly old too.
Inedible
Some of the best fish & chips in a very long time. Staff here demonstrate knowledge and skill in what they're doing.
Food is only one part of a good fish and chip shop. A simple smile, hello, idle chat when the shop is empty doesnt cost anything, when i walked in they looked like i was about to kill them. You can tell their tired & hav been their for decades or all their life, retire, enough is enough, you need money to live but it can also kill you.
Sorry but this place must have been off it’s game when I tried it. Potato fritters undercooked, ditto the vegie patty which was still semi-frozen. Fish was ok-KG Whiting but the batter was soggy. Two ladies behind the counter. The cook was nice, the server was sour-faced and grumpy. I was holding out a bit of hope because of good reviews, but yeah.nah. Won’t be back.
Service 5/5, very quick and also very friendly
Fish 5/5, Very very good, one of the best I have had
Chips 1/5, very ordinary
.
Will definitely be back
5th Feb 23, things have changed except for the chips, they are still terrible. Fish was ok, and service from lady taking orders was pretty bad, need to drop the attitude towards your customers
Just ordered some chips, chiko roll and grilled fish … it took a bit longer no doubt to grill the fish.
Got back to our weekend stay - most of the chips were too raw to eat and the chiko roll was cold in the centre - needless to say there wasn’t much to eat for lunch
Very disappointed. Patricia & M
Best fish & chips we have ever had. Cooked to perfection and oh so delicious and a big serve. Even the Chicko Roll was delicious! We will definitely be back. Yum!
Very busy fish and chip shop, big queues on a Friday night, Fish is beautiful, curry sauce has a great taste, chips were a bit dry for my liking but were ok. Lots of teenagers hanging around there, and on busy nights prepare to wait for a car park anywhere near the shop.
Tasty king george whiting, but more care required when scaling. The three of us agreed the Chips needed more salt, so ask for extra. Calamari, scallops and prawns were good.
Came in for a feed today before heading out to the beach. We had the dinner for two and it was quite nice and I asked the lady if I could please have the chips well done to which she seemed very annoyed at and didn't even bother to relay to the chef. I'm not sure what her problem was but it appeared the customers were a bit of an inconvenience. I'll still continue to come here but next time, I'll get served by someone else.
I understand why there was such a long line!
we ordered a variety of different things for the family to share and everyone enjoyed what they got. Food was reasonably priced and portion sizes were generous.
Staff were friendly and smiled as well as had a bit of a chat with each customer even thou they were busy so no one felt rushed which is always nice because it's easy to fall under the pressure of lots of orders.
When we got our order number there was about 15 other orders ahead of us so we thought we'd be there for quite a while but the food came out pretty quick too which was a nice surprise.
Certainly deserves five stars. Constantly serves the best take away fish and chips in the south.
LOVE THIS FISH AND CHIPS SHOP.
MY FISH BURGER, CHIPS AND FISH IS ALWAYS TOP QUALITY.
10/10 FOR THE BEST FISH AND CHIPS SHOP IN SA
Best Fish and Chips in Adelaide have going there for a few years and never had a bad piece of fish
Fresh seafood unlike many other fish and chips place. But fries was so undercooked we had to discard it. Cashier aka lady boss could be less grumpy and be more cheerful when taking order
It’s very rare to come across these wonderful little Gems! Family owned and operated, handmade chips, fresh fish and most importantly a warm and friendly welcome by the whole family. Thanks for making our day!
Poor quality chips very disappointed we had recommended this shop to others but won't be in future.
I love fish and chips and have (luckily) tasted them all around the world - this was easily one of the best! Fish was perfect - and chips just right and the pineapple fritter my indulgence - was actually one of the best ever!
