Presidential Motel

Hidden Gem of Mt Gambier. Massive rooms, great service, food at the Presidental Restaurant is sensational. As a foodie, I would drive 5 hours from Melbourne to have dinner here, stay the night and drive back. We tasted few dishes from the menu across a 3 course meal. Flavours and presentation of a 5 star chef. Sensational

Had 3 night stay.
Room renovated, large & well set out.
Due to a large faeces stain on the mattess protector (although the bottom sheet was clean? We could see the stain through it!) we changed rooms within 2hrs of check in.
Pool under renovation, couldn't even find evidence of a pool. Over priced especially, with plenty of other choices available.

Stayed only one night i never want to stay again, next day, went to lobster motel in kingston, very nice place. Half the price fully automated motel next to Biglobster.why stop here and pay over 220 dollars.i coud not find even a usb port. (cost only 30dollrs to upgrade an exsiting power point). This is not presidential place. I dont want to wright everthing

What a surprise package this place was. Initially annoyed with WOTIF for selling me a room that wasn't available at the property, I was pleasantly surprised with the size of the room, the size of the double beds and the gigantic bath tub! Beautifully renovated and if you stay at the rear of the property, the rooms are lovely and quiet. It was fine for us that this property wasn't within walking distance to town too, we would definitely stay again.

Ok. Where do I start. We were supposed to get breakfast included with the package, didn't happen.could have gotten cereal but the cost was so expensive. The walls must be paper thin. You could hear ppl plugging in their phones etc.and not to mention the couple in the room next to mine came back very late one night, I was already in bed, and they were arguing and I think smoking in the room as the alarm went off. The toilet got blocked. And the staff at the desk were snobby and unhelpful. Definitely won't be going anywhere near that motel ever arguing. The wifi was so incredibly slow. Tried to log into Netflix (due to the offer saying there was pay TV and there was not) but there was no login to log into. You couldn't even cast to the tv. The amount you pay and they don't even use quilt covers just sheets. Was very uncomfortable especially when you can't sleep properly due to noisy neighbours and the bed was so soft you sank into it badly. If I could give a minus star rating I definitely would have!
And I have stayed in some real dumps. Thinking this would be a real treat. WOW! I was so wrong. Please don't waste your money.

It was definitely the presidential. Through bookit. They may have some things wrong but that's not my fault. But everything I said regarding theroom was exactly how it is. Thank

Excellence staff and great service! Rooms are always clean and neat, with everything well kept. No hesitations recommending this to others.

Food - was actually ridiculously good. Didn't expect it and actually can't wait to try their next specials.highly recommend

Positives. - New and spotless clean. Great bed. Quiet. Good front desk service.
Negatives - The bathroom was new but absolutely dangerous. We didn't know that the light was a motion sensor one. Sitting on the pan only to have the light go out was "interesting". BUT the shower had no door. Water went everywhere making all the floor wet and very slippery. Then to have the light go off while washing my hair was the last straw. In the dark on a wet slippery floor trying to get the light to come on isn't funny. Because of all the water on the floor we had to dry the floor simply to make it safe in case we needed to use the tiolet during the night. We paid to dry a floor!
The bathroom would ring alarm bells with any insurance company. Public liability nightmare.
We were in Mount Gambier for 5 nights. After the first night we checked out and found another motel. And notified other family members who joined us at the other motel.

A "clever" makeover by someone with no idea of what older guests require.

I wouldn't recommend this motel to anyone concerned about safety in a bathroom.

FWIW we travel a lot. Now stayed in over 600 different hotel/motels all around the world. This is about the dumbest bathroom we have ever seen.

Awesome accommodation, spacious rooms. Very modern great breakfast. Very nice place to stay.

Stayed there for 1 night yesterday, 4 adults and 2 young kids. Room is spacious and clean and location is convenient. The only thing makes me give 3 stars is an incident when we check in, the owner told us off and did not allow my 70 yr old father to use the toilet in their restaurant as it is for restaurant patrons only which we found very odd. We checked in after 6pm and there seems no one customer in the restaurant at the time. It took a while to check in because we have 2 groups and sometimes people just need to use the restroom. We are surprised that the lady did not want us to use the restaurant toilet and we were told that was the owner of the business. We were quite offended by that but did not escalate the issue but simply told her that it does not seems reasonable and may be put up a sign next time. Anyway, she lost us for her restaurant business that night.

5 stars for their staff，which is very helpful and polite but - 2 stars for the condition of the rooms. Rooms are very old with a very strong smell (smoke + cleaning products).
The photos of the rooms are basically a scam.

First tip is to support your local service provider by contacting them direct and ensuring your spending dollars stay local. Online booking agencies are off-shore owned.
Second tip is if you’re staying in Mount Gambier then look no further than the Presidential. We will be back for sure. Recent renovations are nearly completed and this is easily a 4 Star rating Hotel.
Jaime at Reception generously upgraded our room and it was truly outstanding. She also recommended their restaurant for dinner and we had a most memorable steak meal. Wow, so good!

Great location, spotless rooms, good service, hostess was lovely. Very comfortable. We received a free upgrade. Would definitely book here again if we come back. Great value. Highly recommend.

We had the most beautiful dinner. Great food, wine and service. The ambiance was lovely and to think we nearly drove on by because the lighting was so low and we couldn't easily see the restaurant! We had prawn skewers.such lively fresh flavours, lamb curry.yum and the duck confit.super yum.all paired with delicious local wines. Amazing.

Lovely rooms with great attention to detail. Family owned establishment where you can tell they really care about their business. We did find our room was a little noisy - the door leaked nose and cigarette smoke from our neighbors but being an older motel that's refurbished I understand this is an issue difficult to address. Comfortable beds and great shower.

We arrived late but they had all arrangements made for us. Very helpful. Good rooms. A bit tired.

Really enjoyed my stay here large clean rooms and excellent service, great meals too. Also has the best in house gym I've ever seen in any motel, will definitely stay here again.

The staff and owners are lovely. The rooms were nicely renovated, spacious and clean. We thoroughly enjoyed eating at the restaurant which was just like a home cooked meal. We ended up booking an extra night because we are so comfortable here. Thank you

I stay here weekly, rooms are clean and tidy. My only negative comment would be that there is no microwave in each room.

Spacious rooms, lots of outdoor space, awesome location and one of the best gym, very clean, reception was very warm and cordial
