Port Wakefield Caravan Park reviews
44 We stayed one night at this park a couple of weeks ago.
The park itself is a little tired and a wee bit small and probably more suited to campers rather than caravanners.
We did have a drive through spot (23ft van) but it would have been tight getting the van out of another one had been next to it.
What made up for that was the manager's.
A lovely couple, very friendly and helpful.
Quite a few showers and they were nice and clean.
Would stay here again
Cindy and Shane are very friendly and helpful and made us feel very welcome. We'll mentioned and clean
Great place if you like being a sardine. When the owners greed for $$$$ is to the detriment of the paying customers then this c/van park is not for you. We arrived just after lunch and were given a drive through site next to marked rd. By the afternoon park owners had put vans on either side so close our door was nearly hitting one side and my bedroom window was nearly hitting the other side. If they'd (owners) explained how squished in we'd get, we would have moved on. Back channel of water has green algae problems. Would never recommend this park.
Great facilities. Clean, hot showers. There are reverse and drive through power sites. Dump site behind wall near shower block. Was $32 night Aug 2023.
Great place to stay right on tidal lagoon. Unfortunately, had to leave because the winds came up. Would be a great place in summer with swimming at back of your van.
Wish we could stay longer. Maybe on way home. Staff helpful and welcoming. Lush lawn drive through site. Very good value and spotless. Highly recommend
Handy overnight stay before arriving into Adelaide. Hot showers and a short walk to the local pub. Clean facilities
Have been here several times, what a little gem of a park, very helpful owners, very clean, a credit to them.
Great Caravan Park, Amenities are old but clean. Very friendly Managers and location, backing onto the Tidal Pool was very relaxing
Brilliant staff, very friendly. Relaxing spot, everything you could need in a small campsite
I spent one night here with a friend, our trusty Toyoto Corolla and a tent. Cindy the manager was really friendly and reserved us a spot right under a tree.
The caravan park may be a bit small but the facilities are clean, the location nice and you can jump directly into the water!
Lovely spot for an overnight stop-off. Campsite well maintained and clean facilities. Shane, the manager is a lovely bloke and the cat who likes to sit on the counter in reception is gorgeous.
Not impressed this time. Stayed here before on a riverside site. These are are roomy van/awning/car setup with nice outlook. Was good, so 6 weeks ago rang to book a riverside site for 5 nights. Arrived and was put in a narrow drive thru site. Couldn't put awning out. Close neighbours each side each night and they only stay overnight. Interestingly on several riverside sites people have come in for only 1 to 4 nites. If I come here again for more than 1 night it will only if a riverside site is guaranteed.
This is by far the best little caravan park we have ever stayed in. It is in such a beautiful little spot! If you go for a walk to the park there is a little bridge going across the river and it has such a nice swimming spot (but it is swim at your own risk). The sunsets here are to die for with such a flat horizon. As for the camp itself it’s SO clean and tidy. It has showers and toilets that are immaculate, it has two washes and two dryers that are coin operated. The camping sites are all powered and really spacious. You are allowed dogs but they have to be tied up and cleaned up after. We rang up the day of on New Years Eve Eve and they fit us in for $34 - absolute lifesavers! And to top it off the caretaker/owners are so lovely! Definitely recommend
I wish to give a big thank jou to the Port Wakefield Park for the wonderful help l received when my partner and l booked in on Friday my partner took ill and they had an ambulances there within 5 minutes and he. Was on his way to the Balaklava hospital where he was for4 days and the manager picked him up and brought him back they could not do enough to help me in a difficult situation so a big thank you for all your help.
Looked like a nice place with lovely staff in the office, pet friendly and clean toilets and showers but the drive through sites are packed in very tightly. We can hear everything the neighbors say. If you have a big van don't do a drive through site but book another site by the river. Would be quite pleasant otherwise
Loved our 2 nite stay. Clean amenities friendly staff and a town with 170 years of history. Loved it. Thanks Shane.
Excellent great friendly service fitted us in overnight with our 13 metre rig on a drive through site. Nothing seems to be a problem. Thanks Cindy outstanding.
Staff were very nice but park is very tight to get around. The first site we were given was too small so we were shown another which was OK but very difficult get out of. We've got a 23ft van and we informed them of the size when we booked. We got out of the site after doing a bit of back & forwarding before we could spin around the corner. We won't be back.
A quaint little gem of a Park with extremely helpful staff. Because of unfavourable weather, we relied on the well appointed and clean Camp Kitchen to congregate. We'll be back to visit again.
