Port Wakefield Bakery reviews
50Have always stopped here on our way out of Adelaide to support small business. 3 months ago staff rude and food not great. Again 2 days ago, so disappointed in the service and food below average. It does not cost anything to smile and be pleasant to your customers, I was made to feel like an inconvenience.
Lovely ladies, great coffee and baked goods, worth stopping in at this little gem in Pt Wakefield
One of our regular stops when travelling to Yorke Peninsula. Quality pies, pasties and other tasty pastries. We usually add some nice cakes, especially from the home made choices. Add two quality cappuccinos and all delivered with friendly service. Our final decision is eat in or drive further down the street to eat at the picnic tables next to the water.
Great fresh food with lovely service! Highly recommend stopping here if you need some good food
Pies were nice but service left a little to be desired. Like they didn't want to be there. Was quick but in grumpy manner. Cheer up a little or stay closed.
Cornish pasties are so yum! Coffee is good. Vanilla slice ok - have had better. Cheesecake a little on the dry side but good.
Stopped here on the day after Boxing Day, just a little way into a full day’s drive in a heat wave, on my daughter’s birthday. Needed coffee, birthday breakfast, and a toilet, and this bakery was a welcome sight. Appreciated the good signage taking people to the toilet location. The bakery was lovely and cool and inside and out the decor was very welcoming and pretty. Places to sit, which was nice, and plenty of staff. However, the service was awful. The staff looked at my daughter and I as if we’d just crawled out of a rubbish bin, and spoke to us in the same manner. I used to be the manageress of a bakery- I know about early starts, very busy workload, and working in the heat. However, this was a lovely cool shop, the staff weren’t rushed off their feet, and my daughter and I were nothing but polite. There was just no excuse for this attitude towards their customers. A shame. I liked everything else about it: the coffee, the food, the location, the decor… but if I ran this place I’d either train or sack my employees before they chased all the customers away!
Food was fine. Staff just kept talking to each other. Eventually I got served. No hello, what would you like, no goodbye, thankyou. I made sure I said please, thankyou, enjoy the rest of your day. I got nothing. Will not return
. Good luck keeping this business lasting.
If you're looking for a very ordinary coffee and indifferent service try this place, you won't be disappointed.
Staff obviously don't want to be at work on a Sunday
‘A smile is the universal welcome’ unfortunately the staff here couldn’t manage a hello or a smile! Fortunately, the hot food was delicious and the coffee average
This has now become my stop to look forward to. I recommend the Cornish pasties. Delicious
The pies seem to be getting smaller in general these days, but not the prices.
Not value for money.
Bad service and way overrated food, keep driving don't stop it's a very disappointing experience. I will be going to one of the other bakeries in town next time for sure.
Can't really recommend this place as the service was cold and uninviting, and they will have to change their oil as the chips were yellow and tasteless. Blessings!
Salad rolls - outstanding. Service - 100%. Will definitely be taking our Tour Local tours back here
Don’t bother. Wouldn’t allow us to sit down on a 40 degree day with our two young children because there was ‘more than 2 of us’ (yes we’re vaccinated). We’re (obviously) from the same family. There was no else there, it was after the peak lunch period. Zero compassion. Very poor. Food looked unappealing & my son didn’t even finish his lollie biscuit thing (we’d promised a treat).
Pies are good, donuts are the highlight though, so soft! Not heaps of area to sit and eat so probably more a ‘grab and go’ place
Pies and sausage rolls are pretty good, however; STOP PUTTING SULTANAS IN CURRY PIES! Its not the norm!
Had a very brief stopover here but had a very nice pasty, suspect the rest of their range to be just as tasty, give them a try on your next pass through Port Wakefield.
Bezt bakery ever. Their apricot slice is out of this world, Great choices of pies and pasties, filled with yummy things.
