Port Hughes Tourist Park

After a long trip on the road, you want a decent place to pitch up an crack a cold one. Unfortunately Big 4 in Port Hughes can't live up to this promise.

While the amenities are good. The inconsistency of the camping grounds and organisation leaves a lot to be desired.

All unpowered camping is unmarked and free for all. In our case this ended up with one family camped on a rocky outcrop more akin to a roadside lay by.

We were lucky enough to get a level site with a bit of grass, but it still had rocks all over it.

After an amazing stay at Renmark over Christmas, which was jam packed, but well marked and organised I can't understand why this place is set up so poorly.

We came in to check in. The 2 ladies there (one was named Paris, I don’t recall the other ladies name) were so happy and pleasant and helpful. The check in was very easy. We got to our villa, and it was so clean and fresh, and smelled beautiful. The view from our villa was beautiful. We ended up paying for another nights stay because everything was so perfect.

We always ask for the same spot, amenities nice and very clean, lively place to relax, amazing pool area and shirt walk to the beach

Stayed on foreshore grass site. Great spot so much room. We had a beautiful spot overlooking the water with a large grass area. Met great people. Straight below is a dog friendly tavern and general store with takeaway food. Caught plenty of squid - really enjoyed our stay.

Fantastic park, comfortable cabin at a good price. Will definitely stay here for my next work trip.

It’s hard to leave any sort of positive review here, we left 3 messages and sent an email to get a response from them about availability, why have a message service that clearly isn’t monitored.

Absolutely love staying here. 3rd time for us and won't be the last. Our cabin overlooks the beach front and sea, only 10 minute walk to Pt Hughes jetty and shop. The Pt Hughes Inn is place to go for meals too.

I want to say a special thanks to Micheal, he is a staff of here, he helps me a lot when my car got out of battery.

Really lovely people at check in, lovely sites by the pool. Fabulous camp kitchen and ablution block near the pool.

Nice shady trees for camping or caravans, large sites. The amenities are good with the camp kitchen first class. The swimming pool and adjacent amenities were also great.

Loved our stay at Port Hughes. Our cabin was small and dated, we couldn’t get the oven to work and the air con struggled to keep up on the hot days but we paid for the cheapest most basic cabin for 4, so not realistic to expect it to be amazing, and we were perfectly happy. The park vibe was lovely, the pool was lovely and such a short walk to the beautiful beach. Overall very happy with our stay.

What an awesome caravan park - brilliant park for kids- mini golf, jumping pillow, pump track and a beautiful pool and the beach is just over the sand dunes and its amazing and safe for kids.
The owners Paris and Michael are so friendly and helpful couldn't do more for you.
We are on an ensuite site and facilities are clean and the sites are nice and roomy.
Looking forward to our next trip back

Unfortunately, not a great experience. We booked a year ago to be next to friends in their cabin and they booked the incorrect dates. We were 2 days out from each other.
Upon arriving, the front door didn't shut (no biggie) as we could close the main door. The next day the screen door fell off its top hanging there. I walked down to the front office to tell them (trying to get thru via calling is almost impossible). They sent someone to fix it. The next day it became loose again. Showertime-the hot shower tap flew off and water went everywhere. Couldn't get a hold of front office, so a friend who is a plumber managed to fix that. The fridge- froze all of our food- so veg/fruit/drinks ruined. I went to turn down the dial, the dial was missing (I didn't bring pliers). Upon check out, the 1st thing I was asked was if I wanted to book in again next year. Not, how was my stay? It cost us $1200. Money not well spent, nor did management contact me to offer an apology. Beautiful beach and location. Such a shame and a let down (

Booked a foreshaw view site. Very nice. Facilities are cleaned regularly. Park is well maintained. Worth the visit to the Port Hughes area.

We had a wonderful stay. The amenities were very clean and lots to do in the park as well as well located for other activities.

This was our 3rd stay here and our first stay in a cabin. I am very disappointed with the cabin, the toilet seat broken, no fly screen on bathroom window, microwave tray dirty, shelf on fridge door broken, grime in the bathroom, tv not very good and bathroom exhaust fan cover disgusting. Pay a grand for 5 people for four nights I'd expect something nicer and more than 2 rolls of toilet paper, I asked a cleaner for more toilet paper and she gave me one! Would have been nice to be offered clean towels also. However the new pool area was very nice and the kids enjoyed it but very disappointed with the "games room" or lack of I should say. The new camp kitchen looks very nice also.
Our next and last stay here in the newer cabins will hopefully be much nicer and we are all looking forward to that. The lady at reception was very nice and helpful when booking our next stay which I appreciated.

Love this place! Trees for shade, plenty of space, a short walk to a beautiful beach, what more could you ask for? It's so peaceful at night!
