Pinky Point Lookout reviews
14I am here from Sydney for work, so didnt look beforehand to see what was here. Well what a surprise when i saw this place. The view is great. About 270 degrees of view. The view to the loading dock was a real surprise. There is a very large carpark, with spots suitable for large campervans. There is a viewing deck that has a telescope to view around the place.
What an amazing place to come. So many things to learn here about our country. Salt, gypsum, grain to be exported. Plus history to be learnt.
We did the coastal walk from the jetty to here. Easy walk with a well formed multi user path. The information at the lookout was interesting and informative.
History displays at Pinky Point are very interesting.
I enjoyed the lookout with telescope for looking at the local seabirds. Note that the telescope mounting does not suit people shorter than 160cm for looking at the close islets. I suggest bring your own binoculars.
The Encounter Coastal trail is an easy (i.e. Flat) walk but it is exposed so it can be hot or cold or windy.
Beautifully presented Mosaic lighthouse. So well done by the Community. The area is very nice to lookout over both Ceduna and the Bay, and also the Thevanard shipping wharf. Recommend a visit.
Great spot to view Murat Bay and the Port of Thevenard. Plenty of info about the area and in particular the wreck of the Eleni K ship.
My son walks the dog here and he says it's a nice place but he is unsure about how strong the jetty is
Great little spot for a quick stop. There’s a telescope for you to view out and onto the jetty. Next to a salt plant so was interesting to see and the history info displayed.
Pinky Point is a beautiful spot in Thevenard were you can take a picnic, have a bbq or take a drink and sit on the back of your ute while a beautiful sunset unfolds before your eyes. An orange sky reflecting on the bay. You can also check out the wharf and tug boats. Enjoy!
Bbq area availabal with sheltered bench. Spacious parking area. Nice view. And much information is provided.
Lovely place but we got blown away here! Could not open car door it was sooo windy!
Nice views of the water and town. Worth a visit.
Cool views, great wander, free binoculars to use and detailed maps/info boards of what you see. The lighthouse is so funky
Nice view of the working jetty. Interrsting information boards of the area take the time to read.
Would be an amazing place for a bbq with friends. Awesome to see the ships and learn a bit of the history of the area.
