Penfolds Barossa Valley Cellar Door reviews
70Service was great. It was not super busy. Wine was not really to my liking. Just personal preference.
We had such a lovely tasting here thanks to the fabulous Chrystie & Annie. A great experience with fantastic wines. Thanks so much ladies, we had a ball!
We stopped here as part of our wine tour and Karen was our Penfolds tour guide. She was professional but engaged with us and shared in our jokes and humour. She offered to take photos for us so we had some fun memories to look back on. Hope to see you again soon Karen!
An amazing wine tasting experience. Matthew was an excellent host. He had the perfect balance of humour, knowledge and professionalism. We thoroughly enjoyed it.
Matthew went through the tastings in our selection. Knowledgeable, interested and keen to answer any questions. Very polite and and attentive. Great asset to Penfolds.
Great cellar for wine tasting and getting your hands on some proper wines. We had the honor of having Mathew help us with the wine tasting which made our experience superb. Thanks @Matt!
Ducked in over the weekend just to pick up a few favourites. Was greeted by Annie, she was not only providing elite customer service but made you feel welcomed. She was so genuine and happy. Will be back for Annie and the wine of course - keep it up and thank you!
We spent a week in the Barossa and this wine tasting room was our highlight. The staff are so professional, without being stuffy and they are so generous with their knowledge and stories even on a very busy day. Amanda was kind enough to drop a pair of glasses left behind to our accommodation on her way home that night. A must see
As a part of my Sperm Donation Australia tour of South Australia I headed out to the Barossa Valley and the 2nd stop of the day was here, had a lovely, knowledgeable host in Annie and got to try some lovely wines.
Penfolds cellar door was a wonderful experience, staff were fantastic, Stein's Taphouse was next level for a Brewery experience Luke the owner is the man for beer choices thanks
Great customer service from Cyra, well informed and very friendly and approachable, beautiful wines, worth the trip
The best wine tasting experience my girlfriends and I ever had! Annie was such an amazing host she was an absolute ray of sunshine and delight to be around - she made our experience very special? One of the most memorable tastings we’ve ever had - THANK YOU ANNIE YOU SUPER STAR
Very friendly staff, made our time there fantastic. Very knowledgable, and $10 for a tasting is incredible value, the same in burgundy expect 100 euro. Must visit when in Nuri
Basically a glorified tourist welcome center for Penfolds. Tastings were good and staff were great but far from the Barossa vineyard experience we were hoping for. Go to Magill instead.
My expectations were much higher. The venue was very basic. It wasn't inviting for families. You can find many more venues with much better experiences close by.
Tasting here is $10 but the tasting list is great value - most wines are over $100! It was very busy when we visited but the service was fantastic - Amanda was our host. We learnt a lot about Penfolds history and went home with some wines we had never seen before.would recommend a visit for sure
One photo, the name says it all! We keep returning for our favourite wines and the tasting experience is one of the best in the Barossa. Matt our host was a wealth of knowledge and a gentleman, not out to push sales but there to get to know you as a person and help best understand what wines are best suited to you. We ended up leaving with Father Grand, Grand father and Viognier. Thank you again for a wonderful visit.
Penfolds is big and has been around a long time. It consistently produces good wine, but we tend to like a more unique expression of fruit and terroir. I did not expect surprises. Then, Annie showed me I was wrong. The reds remain solid for sure, including The Grange. The two surprises are the deliciously complex Great Grandfather (CD only) and the brilliant XO brandy - both went home with us. Kudos to Annie!
Very commercial. I found no wine that matched my taste. Staff friendly and they know their stuff
We booked in for the 'mix your own blend' of GSM experience and we had a great time. After the blending and with our own creations to take home we were informed that the booking included a free Penfolds tasting. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating throughout the afternoon even though it was quite busy. I highly recommend the Penfolds Cellar door to anyone visiting the Barossa!
