Payneham Tavern

Came here for an anniversary, was lovely atmosphere and they even put up balloons! The salmon was really nice as well as the fried chicken. They gave complimentary drinks to the couple. We got our food rather quickly. All around a great experience, except for the green chippies!

Popped in at the last minute after driving by for years. I still remember when it was an old Sizzler restaurant.
Food was great, the flathead and roast beef was perfect. There was even yorkshire puddings! Service was great and it was quiz night and the guy organising that was a legend.

Very modern pub experience. Customer service was great. The food wasn’t as good. Schnitzel was like the average. One batch of chips were full of crunch the other batch was rushed.

We attended a fundraising night here and it was a fantastic.
The bar staff (most notably Mark) were fantastic and it almost seemed they went above and beyond to provide a high level of service. The menu was set to about 5-6 options because of our fundraising event, I ended up ordering a simple beef snitty, I must say it was one of the best snittys I have had in years, the meat was so tender and the crumb was perfect. This was a memorable night and we will most definitely be back for another meal and top notch service.

Quiet pub. $6.50 beers during happy hour and the only time in adl I've been served free 'tapas' (eg packets of nuts and pretzels). Huge tv screens showing the racing/betting and pool tables to boot! Friendly staff!

Great place to stop for a quick coffee or drink friendly staff well looked after while having a drink or a little flutter.

Very very disappointed service was poor and took staff 3 attempts to get the price correct when paying! At our requests to amend them some were undercharged others overcharged we were a large group pre-booked but still waited over 1 and half hours for our food and it came out in dribs and drabs and very noticeable that other tables of people that had only recently arrived got their food etc before us. The coffees were sent back as they were ice cold!
When food arrived either gravy or sides were missing. We are not at all picky people however this was not acceptable for a prebooked event of 2 large tables lift your game Payneham tavern

Had a meal on mother's day, disappointing to say the least. Chicken parmy the outside was burnt, 2 ham slices on top with tomato paste, no taste whatsoever. The salad was a disgrace 3 little lettuce leaves one Tommy toe tomatoe cut in half with a bit of onion. The salad dressing was disgracefull tasted like water. I haven't enough time to write about the other 2 meals suffice to say they were disgraceful also. Never again.

Took the family. Kids ate free (mon/Tue) and had activities provided as well as a spot for them to play and watch a kids movie. Cheaper pricing for seniors and the regular meal pricing was very reasonable. Food was really tasty. For the gluten intolerant out there calamari and steaks are options. There may have been more but I get blind sided by GF calamari. Really friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. We will definitely go again.

Decor outdated, suitable for aged pensioners. Meals low to average.
Here's the kicker. Server brings our meals to the table. Spills a full glass of wine over my trousers, jacket and shirt.
Cleans the table says sorry walks away. Leaves me soaked and smelling of wine. I would have thought, some compensation. Nada first & last time there

Rude female staff the hotel itself has an identity problem which confuses patrons because they keep closing the sports bar so they can just hang out and do nothing in the bistro/pokies bar wake up you lazy lot start being there for the non pokie heads disgusting work ethic for a place I have been frequently going to for years

Nice friendly staff. Plenty of tables, well spread out. The service was quick and the food was very good. Lovely chips.

Food quality was quite poor and not very well done had to send the chips back as they were cold when they came out and the person taking them back was very displeased about having to take the plate back to the kitchen service was quite poor except for the guy serving the alcohol was very polite and spoke to you in a friendly manner If I come back again it won't be for a very long time if ever as I was sorely disappointed in the place I don't recommend going here if your after a decent meal
