This is a great way to assist less fortunate people or those who can’t afford to buy small basic goods - very well organised. The op shop next to it is a bit pricey though

Great public service for those in need of a little help putting food on the table. Friendly volunteer staff work very hard to make this community service function smoothly, so please be patient as it gets very busy and it'll be all good for everyone

Amazing community service available to people struggling to make ends meet. Has really helped my family while my husband has been going through renal cancer. Unfortunately I used to be able to go weekly but they are so busy they have changed to fortnightly.

Firstly I've never had to ask for help before and it was very hard for me. But I was welcomed and felt very comfortable and not judged in anyway or form. I received some groceries when I was at a very low point in my life and struggling. I commend the volunteers and will for ever be greatful for their help and understanding. Godbless

It was a massive thing for me to go here & ask for help! Over my life I've always worked & looked after myself. Even when I was a single mum, I never needed any help because I was always able to work & always been very proud of that. But life happens & things change. Never in my life before, have I ever had to ask for help to feed myself, so it was the hardest thing I've had to do I think.
These people that work here are absolutely fantastic.
The lady I met on the first day I went, took me aside because I got really upset having to go there, she sat down & chatted to me about what ever I wanted to tell her, she wasn't pushy at all, she was just really lovely.
It was explained to me how it all works & today was my 4th time going there. It's getting easier. Produce is good.

My 4 year old daughter wanted to donate some of her toys and clothes to those less fortunate for Christmas. Quite a few people recommended Pathways, so I reached out to organise this. They were so lovely, and very keen for this to happen. They also offered to give my daughter a mini tour of their production line of food distribution and she was extremely excited!
They asked if we could wait till at least the last week of school which was completely fine, and told them that this may end up being later because I was 40 weeks pregnant. I ended up having a baby in the meantime and they said the week after would be fine.
I told them we would be coming in on Friday 23rd December and they said that this was fine but that it was the last day that they’d be open until the new year. A super busy time, we have a newborn baby as well as a 2 year old and 4 year old but this was so important to my daughter.
When we got there my daughter was so excited to hand in her donations. Unfortunately, we were told that the op shop was now closed for the year and that they couldn’t accept any donations at all. They also said that they only accept new items, even though I was told that second hand was fine.
A very upset little 4 year old, who had looked forward to this for weeks. She spent hours going through her toys, waited patiently for weeks, and not one of her things was even looked at. She also did not get to tour the food production line as she was offered. We were told to go to savers and that was that.
So much time wasted, going out of our way and then being turned down. My 4 year old is absolutely devastated which has broken my heart.

These guys helped me out when things were really tough for me, I hate taking hand outs and anybody that knows me knows I'm the person that will help anyone else out and give them anything that helps them but hate taking something from someone else so it took a lot for me to ask for help, even though there are things in the hamper I can not use I am really appreciate what I am given, it's really sad when you are waiting in line and someone complains about what they did or didn't get, what I can't use I pass on to my friends that can use it, now that things are starting to get a bit better and more work is coming in I don't call in for hampers very often now but it's nice to know these guys are here to help if I'm having a hard time, a massive thank you to all the staff in all sections for helping those who need a hand out every now and then. Thank You

Friendly staff:)
I received a fair bit less than other people did and I'm not sure why, but am grateful none the less. Will put the food to good use and anything not used goes to the chicken in the back yard:)
Thank you.

I visit with people whom utilise this service, they are so friendly. And very caring. Great work. Just one downfall. When people have food allergies, maybe substitute for other items.

We just dropped off a bootload of items and had help from a gentleman carrying them from the car. We love what you do for people in need. It was very busy today with people getting hampers of groceries

Sadly, on more than one occasion I have witnessed racism by volunteers handing out food. I attend with an Aboriginal person who is looked at with a look of distrust, his card is checked and rechecked every time (noone else's is), he is repeatedly questioned about a cloth bag that they have admitted they ran out of yet when we come with a perfectly good bag he is questioned again and again. Today a white male ahead of us was given bakery items without question yet he only had a plastic Coles bag. He was also presented with fresh salad while my fellow wasn't offered any. My fellow said it happens all the time to.him, they give the good stuff to the white folks and I get the bare basics. What a shame racism and discrimination overshadow important work. Check yourselves!

Pathways is a safe space for anybody in the community to come when they need help. The managers are always reminding us that we don't know what is happening in someone's life, we don't know how a person is going to react to us, and the best thing we can do is show compassion and hold that space for them.

Among many things, Pathways is a food rescue operation and I love that they minimise waste that would have gone to land fill by redirecting food to where it is needed the most. They offer support for those experiencing domestic violence, food shortage, and English classes for people looking to improve their English.

If you are struggling to put food on the table then come and get a hamper of fruit and vegetables. This is what one typically looks like. You would be saving food from going to landfill.
I give them 5 stars for the impact they are making in the community.
