Parwana Afghan Kitchen

Had a fantastic meal here on our recent visit to Adelaide. We shared a plate of Ashak Dumplings, Narenj Palaw and Karayee Morgh with a side of spicy pickled veg. The dishes were all fantastic and was more than enough for two people leaving us with leftovers to take home. The food was a grand introduction to afghan food as somebody who has never had it before and overall good value as we spent ~$80 and had enough to take home. Also very quick service, as the food arrived to our table within 10 minutes of ordering.

The only issue we had was it was quite loud inside with a couple of large groups and the sound would echo quite a bit making it hard to have conversation. Once the big groups left it was much better.

Really beautiful food, they really know how to make flavours pop. The Karayee Gosfand dish with the chutney is a real stand out to me. Friendly people & sweet owner. A really warm atmosphere to eat in. The whiny people saying "average" food wouldn't know good food if it fell in front of them. You would enjoy it

I can’t believe this restaurant is one of the best in Adelaide. We were so excited to try this after hearing so much good things about it. We went here for lunch. But unfortunately, it disappointed us sooo much. For people like us, who are very familiar with these type of food, the food was extremely tasteless. The eggplant dish was very bland, rice was very dry. The chicken dish (supposedly the best one) was terrible as well. Rice tasteless, salad was poured on top of the rice with no dressing on and chicken was bland. If I could give 0 stars, I would have.

Bad experience with this restaurant. I ordered to meals qabuli palaw and chicken. Qabuli was without meat and the chicken was without rice and the there was not any spoons or forks or tissues with it. They charged $30 dollars each meal. Not recommended

Bought takeaway cause dine in gets busy very quickly even right at 5pm. Dumplings were a standout from what I ordered. Enjoyed the Afghan flavours as they share similarities with other middle eastern dishes. Would go again as the to try the other dishes as they sound good but I didn’t want to over order.

A bit disappointed given the reviews. We reserved our table for birthday dinner and we had to wait for quite some time to have our orders taken and food served. Venue was a bit dimmed where we were seated. Food was tasty though but wont probably come back due to service.

We came here for lunch. Food was excellent. Decor is so nice, loving the pink walls and floored tiles. Suitable for small or large groups. Service was fast and waitress is super friendly. Worth the trek

I had very high expectations after reading various reviews and recommendations. The food was very good but just a little below what I was expecting as an overall dining experience, also taking the price point into consideration. Service was a little slow on the floor as may have been understaffed on the night. We tried all the vegetarian dishes on the menu. Favourite dishes were the veggie fritters and chick pea curry. Date halva dessert and pistachio ice cream also very good. Naan bread was disappointing as expected it to be made up fresh and be soft and fluffy.

Went here with my family for my birthday. The service was super quick and the food absolutely delicious. Everyone loved it! I would return. Only thing that could be improved is perhaps just a little bit friendlier/louder/more genuine customer service - but overall nothing to complain about.

Delicious meals. Limited option lunch menu. Our kids (aged 5 and 2) loved everything we put in front of them, which is always a good sign.

We had high expectations after reading the reviews. We ordered the spiced vegetable fritters, the steamed dumplings and the pan-fried chicken. Unfortunately none of them made any impression. The dumplings were tasteless and the lamb bolognese-like sauce poured over the dumplings was strange. Fritters were ok but no chutney. Instead they served it with the same paprika and mint dip that came with the dumplings. And the yoghurt and spices marinade didn't soak into the chicken. We were left wondering if the chef had the night off cos we couldn't believe that so many good reviews could be wrong.

No air con or ceiling fans.gets claustrophobic when too many people in store.little air circulation. Not good on a hot day.

Underwhelming menu, ok but not special dishes and third rate service. Incorrect dish initially served, table not cleared for 40 minutes and only after asking. Dessert not offered, and finally refusal of a cup of tea "because the table is needed". Many better choices available despite the cult status. Two stars only because I don't want to appear mean spirted.

Amazing restaurant. The food quality was incredible and our first Afghan food experience and boy were we impressed. The portion sizes are very generous; the flavour incredible. 10 $ corkage enabled us to bring a very nice bottle

Outstanding. Just outstanding, every dish a winner. Beautifully executed, and low key but friendly service. In short, these people really know what they’re doing.

Did not expect this. Understated and delicious. Seriously yum and affordable. Recommended by a mate, it's another reason to support the local suburban food culture. It exists in every state around of Australia

I was very impressed by the quality of the food - all the dishes we ate were full of flavour and really well-priced. The chicken was succulent and the eggplant dish was the highlight of the meal. It was our first time eating Afghani cuisine and won't be the last. The ambience inside was warm and inviting, highly recommend!

Gorgeous setting, generous servings of beautiful and traditional dishes, with great service. No wonder it's such a popular choice in Adelaide.

Food was ok-ish, not as good as advertised.some dishes were missing some of the ingredients mentioned on the menu (like no pistaccio on the rice, naan was so hard, no basil seeds on the sharbat, etc). Service was HORRIBLE, servers are apathetic and not helpful at all, worst attitudes, not a single smiling face. They wouldn't clear our empty plates until we asked them to. We've been sitting here after 20 min of asking for the menu to order dessert, no one has come yet. Won't be coming back and won't be recommending it either.

Your food at Plant 4 is amazing! What I get for $20 is so good. It feeds 2 people and it is delicious so what great value. Thank you and keep doing what you do!
