We hired the Elifn Houseboat and it was the perfect boat for our first houseboat experience.
We also based our wedding and honeymoon around the boat!
The Elfin is beautifully renovated and well set up! Would highly recommend to anyone looking to get away for a week.
Oz Houseboats were great also, friendly and knowledgeable staff, easy to contact and hire.
We will definitely be back!
Thankyou all so much!

Was absolutely amazing. Would highly recommend to anyone wanting to get away for a break. Was awesome to be able to just cruse down the river whilst playing a board game, casting a fishing line out or just chilling and soaking up the views. To be able to wake up and look out the windrow to the glassy water was like nothing else.

Highly recommend Oz Houseboats, Murray Bridge! Their boats are immaculate and their staff are knowledgeable & helpful.

We hired "Riverdance" for 7 nights and couldn't fault it. It easily accommodated our group of 7 with plenty of room to spread out and find a relaxing quiet spot on board. 4 bedrooms, 2.5 bathrooms, 2 lounges, full kitchen, rear swim deck with room for 2 boats or jet skis to tow behind. The second fridge in the bar area & the rooftop spa were great additions.

Loved every minute of our stay on Riverdance, highly recommend this boat & Oz Houseboats!

Oz Houseboats, operated by Peter and Sonia Somers is a great operation. After getting my times wrong we turned up 4 hours early to be trained and to take possession of Jubilee 2. Not to be phased by this, Peter arranged for Sam to change his schedule and sort us out early. Sam’s training and general advice about operating on the river was first class. Practical, to the point and comprehensive. Thank you Sam! Jubilee 2 was as advertised. Three minor faults, one of which we were able to fix. The extractor over the stove was inoperative, as was the top deck light. There were quite a few big kitchen knives in the kitchen drawer – all of which were blunt. I reckon the blunt knife problem had been solved over the years by people purchasing new knives which eventually went the way of the old. We purchased a knife sharpener and they are all now sharp – except for the bread knife which was beyond our sharpener.
The houseboat is very user friendly and practical for 4 people. It would be OK for 4 adults and 2 children but a very big squeeze for 8.
Our trip was in August and it was cold on the river – falling to freezing on our first night. Like most houseboats, Jubilee 2 has a lot of glass, and we needed every rug in the boat + two hot water bags we purchased at Mannum. Anybody contemplating travelling during winter should take extra layers of bed-time clothing and a doona to counter the cold (and hot water bags). The houseboat is well equipped, and the living area is practically laid out. The upper deck is spacious and a very nice place to sit back, relax and enjoy a drink after a day’s houseboating.
We also learned, to our happy surprise, that Jubilee 2 was an ideal platform for astronomy. We took along a small telescope, a variety of lenses and a high quality camera – returning home with good pictures of the moon, Jupiter and it’s four Galilean moons.
For anybody thinking about a houseboat cruise on the Murray, we highly recommend that you turn thought into action and Oz Houseboats are the perfect people to do it with.

I hired Just Perfect in February with a group of friends. The boat was very clean and had all necessary facilities. The manager Peter was extremely helpful and friendly. We loved the Jacuzzi on the upstairs deck.
I wouldn’t hesitate to rent Just Perfect again for another excellent short break.

Holiday on Jubilee 2. Full marks to Oz Houseboats and staff for a great time hibernating for a week during the covid-19 pandemic. Went to extreme lengths to make sure all contact was within the guidelines and the boat was super clean. Couldn't have asked
for more

Would highly recommend Oz Houseboats. They were friendly, professional and certainly helped us in preparing for our week stay on the Entertainer. The Entertainer boat was amazing and everything that I thought it would be. Didn't want to leave it. I look forward to hiring this boat again if available. Our time on the boat was memorable and a holiday that will never be forgotten.

Sundown and still at the marina. The Murray River is gorgeous and a houseboat holiday is the best way to see it.

Our Houseboat Holiday was the result of a successful travel auction bid. From the acceptance of our bid through to the booking process and payment was all completed on line without a hitch.
As our first experience with Houseboats we opted for the low key approach and chose a four berth for my husband and myself and two adult children.
The instruction provided by the operators was comprehensive. We were taken out for a test run before us taking over control. We were given emergency phone contact numbers which thankfully we didn't need to use.
The boat was very well fitted out, sheets, kitchen cooking items, maps of where to go and what to see and good mooring spots. There is safety railings around the perimeter of the boat but not adequate enough for toddlers who would need to wear a life vest at all times.
Everyone we met along the way were very friendly. It was relatively easy to park the boat following our first couple of clumsy attempts. The barbecue was gas and easy to use.
The bathroom was good with plenty of hot water. The beds were very comfortable.
The river itself is magnificent with plenty of wildlife to see such as pelicans, fish jumping out of the water, eagles soaring overhead and at times the raucous Sulphur Crested Cockatoos' creating havoc in the trees above.
There were ample secluded little mooring spots between Murray Bridge and Mannum. The river traffic picked up on the weekend but it was the weekend prior to peak season so wasn't too bad considering. We found the the boat easy to manoeuvre. On return to the Marina we're greeted by the operator who was interested in our experience and any maintenance issues. The petrol consumption is paid for from the bond with the balance to be paid into our account within 10 days.
A truly wonderful family holiday and highly recommended by us all.

We picked this up through Travel Auctions and really enjoyed our 5 days on the River Murray. Thank you Sonia and Peter. Great communication. Whilst the Jubilee 3 was not the most modern looking boat, and was in need of some minor repairs, it was clean and provided us with everything we needed and it was as advertised. We took our own linen, but found teatowels, pillows and if needed, blankets for our use. Toilet paper was also provided. The instructions given to us by Sam were clear and easy to follow. Thank you Sam.

The following comments are not directed at Oz houseboats. There were very few clear landing spots along the river, mainly due to being overgrown by willows. The other issue we found missing was a clear display of distance markers along the banks of river.
We thoroughly enjoyed our time on the boat, but it was marred by the extremely hot weather. Thank goodness for the roof top spa.
