OVO Gelato reviews
26A great place to have some gelato. They have a great range of different flavours to try from. Tried a few flavours some good but most were delicious.
Great tasting and great value!
Waffle was delicious. Nicest ever eaten.
Will definitely be back.
Great gelato and services. Hygienic and clean throughout the place including the toilet.
Prices are spectacular for the quality you are getting! Certainly a great place to spend your time chitchat and banter over desserts and drinks.
Unsurprisingly, they have opened up another branch in Adelaide City. Hope their business continue to thrive and grow its influence throughout Australia and eventually find its way to Singapore.
I got a scoop of the spiced pear and it was the best flavour I have ever had in my many years of life. It was literally perfect. I will be dreaming about it for the next few weeks for sure.
Amazing gelato place! The first ice cream shop where I loved every single flavour that I tried, and I tried several! Super friendly and polite staff - takes time to actually provide customer service and not try to rush you into buying a scoop and move on.
I don usually have vegan gelato but this vegan matcha gelato is simply delicious! Even better than regular matcha IMO.
The space is huge with plenty of seating, and the decor are very aesthetic.
Will definitely be back to try out more flavours, plus the dessert menu!
I could not love OVO any more than I do!
The highest quality, delicious gelato I’ve ever had. The staff are always friendly and super helpful.
Top quality, seasonal flavours made in house. Gluten free and vegan options galore including gluten free cones! The vegan hazelnut was absolutely extraordinary. 100% worth the trip on a cold night! The fitout is also beautiful with plenty of seating.
So delicious! A very smooth and velvety gelato or sorbet. Their flavours are a triumph and elevated above some other stores attempts at making gelato. Many stores make great gelato, Ovo in my opinion makes excellent gelato.
I was quite excited to go and try Ovo gelato at Newtown, as I saw it even had a small kept selection of flavours, so my friend and I made a special trip. Everything in the gelato fridge is apparently gluten free, so I dove in with gusto. It’s sister cafe almost opposite, Clay and Co, is owned by the same people and also has many options for different dietary requirements. Apparently in the owners family there are a few celiacs and quite a few different dietary requirements, so there are a few options in both places. Clay and Co is open in the morning -Ovo is for the afternoon and evening crowd. It’s is quite nice to have the option of evening desserts, as in Adelaide there are few options past 9pm.
The cafe and light and airy, and had plenty of seating. As mentioned, I did try a taste quite a few of the flavours offered, as it’s unusual to have a large gluten free selection, but did stick in the end with the keto selections - raspberry and the limited edition plum, which had small pieces of the said fruit distributed throughout the gelato. The raspberry had a lovely rich flavour - you definitely wouldn’t guess that it was sugar free as it had none of the artificial sugar aftertaste. It was light, refreshing and wonderfully enjoyable.
We had Monestry coffee, a dark rich roast, in double walled glasses before we left and it was a nice way to balance the sweetness of the gelato.
As a treat nearer to Easter, I’m going to try and come back and try one of the sundaes with the tiramisu flavour - the small sample I had was amazing, so that’s something to look forward to.
Very delicious and super tasty. Being Lactose intolerant I chose the vegan chocolate and keto raspberry gelato choices and they did not disappoint. Definitely will be back to try other flavours.
A very classy surprise tucked away in the suburbs. Very clean with friendly staff and most importantly the gelato was delicious!
Every member of the family tried different flavours and no one was disappointed, we will be back here regularly!
Always nice to see little niche shops popping up in the Newton area. The more the merrier I say.
I heard about this first from a friend and wasn't even aware that it was open. From the pictures / reviews, for some reason I imagined it to be a giant dessert shop but it's pretty much 98% a Gelato bar.
Can't fault the ice cream taste. Was smooth and tasty. I got a 2 scoop cone which didn't really look like two scoops but on the same note, the ice cream is so soft, it's a lot harder to get the scoopage size right.
Customer service was ok. Lady behind the counter took our order and that was it. But then again it's an ice cream store, not a fine dining establishment so hard to hold that against the place.
Will be back.
Good range of gelati flavours and coffee drinks.
Whilst my gelati is in a glass cup, I was disappointed to find that like many other newer icereameries, there is a preference to use non recyclable containers (because of the way coating). In years past you could order your chosen delicacies in a coppa - a stainless steel cup, with a metal spoon, which would be washed and reused, surely a more environmental solution for dining in.
Nice and bright interior. Spacious shop. Really creamy gelato with various flavours to choose from. Bacio and pistachio were my fave. They also serve other desserts on plates.
I recently visited OVO gelato shop and I have to say, I was extremely impressed. The standout flavors for me were the pistachio and spiced pear ice cream.
The pistachio gelato was creamy and had a strong pistachio flavor, it was not too sweet and it had a good balance of nutty and creamy taste, it was also very smooth.
The spiced pear ice cream was also delicious, it had a great balance of sweetness and tanginess with a hint of spices, it was very refreshing and I would definitely order it again.
The overall atmosphere of the shop was also great, the staff was friendly and the gelato was served in a timely manner. I highly recommend OVO gelato shop.
Friendly service and great variety of options for people like myself with food intolerances. The vegan chocolate gelato was sooooo delicious. Will definitely be returning to Ovo Gelato in future.
Quite average tasting but highly-priced. I’ve definitely had better gelato for cheaper in Adelaide.
Visited on their opening day and so far very impressed with the gelato!
We tried Coffee, Strachiatella, Chocolate and Peanut Butter
A nice new gelato ice cream store, with other desserts. Tried few Gelato today. Taste and size a good and the gelato is smooth. However they are slow.
Great product, great and friendly staff that go that extra mile. No wonder it was still full just before closing.
