OTR Murrayview

If you're stopping in en route to Adelaide hoping to eat at the Diner, forget about it. Despite the large menu on the TV screen, we were told they did not do chicken schnitzels. The staff member proceeded to pull out a paper menu to show us what they did do, and low and behold, schnitzels were on there. We repeated our request, only for the managing staff member to sigh and huff and says "it's okay, I guess I'll just have to cook them. ", whilst making it obvious that this was an incredible imposition. Now, I will give her the benefit of the doubt and assume they were short staffed, in which case the management of this place is at fault. But if you're going to be a diner, I would have expected there to be a chef on at dinner time on a Saturday night, in the lead up to Christmas. I've been stopping here yearly for a decade now. But I'm afraid tonight was my last visit.

Was overcharged by attendant for a toasted sandwich by $3.00 it was stated as $5.00 with coffee purchase apparently I should have used an app which wasn’t stated. Manager however was kind enough to refund difference and sandwich was lovely BUT initial attendant made coffee that was so weak, no coffee taste and charged for an extra extra large when I asked for a medium sized cup. It tasted like dish water with hot milk. A waste of $7.00. Horrible coffee, we went there cos the coffee was always so good. Attendant just did his own thing really. Won’t be stopping there again

Went in this morning for breakfast fast 2 toast and a coffee and was turned away as there was 1 staff working. What a pathetic excuse for a so called Roadhouse. When truck drivers can't even get breakfast at a OTR Roadhouse/dinner. How embarrassing for OTR and the poor service to it's customers.

I was charged for another customer‘s fuel on 5th August due to an attendant’s error and I’m still waiting for a refund… I gave the cashier my full contact details and she promised me that BP back office agents would get in touch with me. Haven’t heard anything from them in over a week… So it seems that I had to pay 164.88 AUD instead of 78.52 AUD due to their lack of interest to solve this issue. Very poor service, avoid this petrol station and OTR / BP in general like the plague!

Been getting the freshly made cheese and tomato toasties almost every other morning for a week and it was great and this morning was being told they don't do them anymore. Was a little surprised with this. After telling them that I had it 2 days ago, then they decided to do it. Anyway the toasties were still good though. Hope they keep consistent with their menu.

Best OTR I've been to
The food was great (chips & hotdog) and the staff were fantastic, friendly and welcoming.
There's even a balcony overlooking the mighty Murray River.

In mid March, we stopped in here on a long drive to Kingston with our two young children. A lovely gentleman there (had an OTR shirt on but was not behind the counter) gave the 4 of us free Krispy Kreme donuts! The boys were so happy. We ate them outside overlooking the mighty Murray.

The HAPPY WASH DOESN'T LEAVE YOUR CAR LOOKING LIKE A LIMOSINE, after trying twice and paying two different prices still all the bugs on the front - not impressed especially when you keep seeing ad on TV

Often call in out of necessity but it’s usually understaffed and not a very welcoming place since OTR took over. Called in today and met a new staff member Roxy who was really lovely, hard worker, welcoming and most of all pleasant. Would be my preferred place to stop while she’s employed there.

Have always called into this petrol station, and found the food ok but the toilets have always been pretty bad, but now I think they are disgusting and you don't have eating tables at the front of toilets

Been stopping here for years great meals and friendly staff. The store has had a make over, everthing in a fridge help yourself. Sandwiches stale long wait for milk shake and toilets locked. Wish the new owners the best of luck with the changes.

Toilets were disgusting absolutely filthy.staff only interested in food orders.stood around for ages to pay for petrol.liked it better when it was Jasper's.home cooked meals.lovely atmosphere fabulous staff.have been coming here for over 20 years.today is last time EVER.

We’ve spent 30 years stopping at this place and the condition of the toilets never bothered us because they were clean. Even the new makeover is already filthy, and there’s not much seating left for when it is hot, cold or dark, however with the home cooked meals gone (which kept us going back) maybe they won’t need much seating.
OTR - cleaner on the run, chef on the run.

Will never stop at this shop ever again. Was supposed to have a transaction reversed due to attendant error. Have contacted the shop on the following Monday and they had the gall to say I had to go back into the shop to discuss. I sent otr the transactions slips and no contact received from them at all. Done $57 COLD. BURNT ONCE BY A RIPOFF BUT NEVER AGAIN. BYPSS THIS PLACE.

With all the money you have why just revamp the diner? Toilets/shower are old and stink a real health and safety issue, no screen tiles uplifted, especially with covid! Mens absolutely stink of old urine when you are eating on front benches. The aircon inside is 50yrs old and so humid and loud on a 35 plus deg day it was awful. Not enough staff they were stressed sweating and exhausted and over Christmas holidays. The kitchen out back looks 50yrs old? The bowsers are so old there are bugs inside screens. A new diner with veiws just wont cut it mate! Your in Australia now!

What a hidden gem. Good tasty food, Barista Coffee, service with a small and a peaceful view over the river.

The store is always clean and you're always greeted with a smile 24-7.

I rang up and placed a phone order, half way through my order I got rudely interrupted and told to wait becuse the lady didn't have a pen. As some one that works in customer Service, you would expect them to have a pen the moment you said " id like to place an order". As for the orders all three bacon and egg rolls were incorrect, as the lady didn't have the basic skill of listenìng.

Excellent older servo with a proper kitchen that cooks proper food not fast food, and is also quite well priced too. Staff are wonderful and very helpful and the whole team is a very big part of this important meeting place for the local community.
