Oriental House

Wandered in on a wet cold night. Quiet inside with few dining in and not much takeaway in the time I was there. Person at the counter was unfriendly, unwelcoming, and curt. A miserable start.
An almost 40 minute wait saw limited signs of progress other than to inform a person just before me that they were out of tofu. Egg plant was selected and retrieved from the cooler. Nice to know its all made fresh but hardly a smooth and streamlined operation. I would feel more comfortable with a.prolonged wait in a friendlier environme
Average prices are on the high side
But portion sizes were generous and the food tasty and well prepared.

Ordered 2 times through Uber. Shandong chicken was terrible. Just put in bin. It’s still taste like raw chicken. Crispy sesame beef and special fried rice was very good.

We came across this little gem tonight by accident! Absolutely amazing food and wonderful staff definitely going back for seconds. The sweet & sour prawn and Tom Yum soup were very tasty and the portions were very generous. Thank you Oriental House for a great meal!

Food was ok ok, but if they don’t have good customer service there is no way to spend money in the restaurant I strongly believe that.

Wife ordered a container of steamed vegetables and they said it’d be done straight away at that moment. 30min later and a half-full container for just under $16 charge. Terrible experience.

Really nice food. I mean really nice. My partner has not had laksa this good in twenty years. The staff are very friendly and helpful. They are great for takeaway or delivery, but dining in is great too, the atmosphere, lighting and music is just right

Restaurant is clean & cosy. Food always good. Highly recommend the Fried beans with pork mince!

This is my go to place for a delicious takeaway prawn tom yum soup whenever I am Ill. It is one of the best soups I've had in 10 countries I've visited

This is actually a “hidden gem” IMHO, a place we visited and enjoyed several times over the years and it’s never disappointed us.
The atmosphere is subdued, cosy and quiet and the facilities are very clean.
This time a new (entree) treat on the specials board, “salt and pepper tentacles” hit the spot!
The serves are very generous, and taking home those tasty remains is not a problem. (Note to self: go more often!)

Got a Groupon voucher to get 40$ worth of takeaway food for 34$ (15% discount)
Made an order by phone, and when asked to pay 40$ with a coupon and the rest with cash, was told that prices for paying with Groupon are actually different (surprise, 15% higher).
I have no issues supporting a local business, as I've ordered from them before.just can't stomach sham advertising.

Slow service. The woman who is in the counter is not nice and doesnt have any customer service skills. They dont even deserve a star.

Food was great, staff are lovely. Even though there was confusion over our booking time and our table had been given away when we arrived, they worked really hard to make it work and went above and beyond. The crispy pork belly was just amazing

Very disappointing. Ordered barramundi, looked good but too, too salty. Stuffed eggplant also salty. Service good.

We ordered a glass of wine, as offered on their wine list, only to be told it was a mistake. Disappointed that it was not honoured. Great food but we won't be back. Too many great places to go to who do sell wine by the glass.

The steamed pork belly bun had no meat, just fat (x2 buns). I understand pork belly is fatty but you don’t serve fat only.
Lychee duck curry had so much cartilage that every bite I took I had to get the cartilage out of my mouth. I’ve ate lots of duck curry and this has never happened.
Would not recommend.

I would give this a 0.5 the worst experience ever due to the service.the problem was that they forgot to put in the bread and we had to drive back for like $7 of bread and spend like $10 of gas.also u have the worst staff rather than attend custermers they are taking in the cornor

The food is nice, the place is cosy and some waiters are ok, but an older lady was very patronising and abrupt when taking the order. We won't be coming again, at least for a while
