This was a really beautiful and peaceful camping site. Don't forget to pre-book your camp site so you don't miss out. There is a great walking track here as well as areas to rock climb. Most of the camp sites have a designated fire pit. You need to take your own wood to burn though. You're not allowed to collect fire wood from the surrounding bush. The toilet facilities aren't that great. There is only one toilet and you should take your own toilet paper. Other than that this is a fantastic place to camp.

We walked a lot on the banks of Onkaparinga, through wetlands, crossing the Old Noarlunga swing bridge and starting at Piggott Range Road gates to get to the gorge. I still think that we've just started, there is so much to discover.

As many have said, the ground is rock hard. I never thought I'd bring a drill for camping! Lovely environs, but the camping is a bit cramped.

Such an amazing lookout and easy interesting walk. Koala on the way. Lived in Adelaide all my life and never seen this must see location.

Had a very nice view on the hillside, and quite challenging hiking route, will eventually easily get lost if not follow the right path

Perfect place to spend time with family, discover yourself or just be one with nature
Would need multiple visits to explore completely
Good trail walks, paucity of adequate signages

Went to check out the Punch bowl Lookout, it was amazing. There is also many trails to take to look around the river. I highly recommend for people that love bush walking.

We went there yesterday. The weather was so beautiful. We went along the Punchbowl Walking Trail, took a left and got to the Punchbowl lookout point. Such an amazing spot to overlook the gorge! We tried to make it all the way down to the bottom but stopped halfway as it was getting hot approaching noon and to be honest, the road was not for inexperienced hikers such as ourselves (newbies in town). We’ll make a mark and definitely come back when we are more properly geared up - proper hiking shoes to begin with. Highlight of the day - a friendly passerby pointed out to us that there was a koala sleeping on a tree. Koala makes everything better doesn’t it.

A great park full with lots of wildlife and beautiful birds. You don't realize you are in a built up area. Dogs are allowed but must be on a leash. I enjoy walking around this park

I have done all the hikes on the otherside so I decided to head into McLaren Vale and do the River Hike.
Its really easy to start with as you are just walking down a dirt road then you reach the stairs where the absail from. After the stairs the path narrows and is uneven till you reach the river. It's a great hike which is not difficult.
You can head down stream and link onto the Gorge hike.

I did the gorge walk - let me tell you, this track is not for the inexperienced, faint of heart, or unfit. It was magical! From the descent into the gorge, to finding your own way along the river, to ascending the gorge - there was something to see and experience at every phase. I personally avoided the tall grass parts of the track due to sighting a few red belly black snakes - opting to climb the rocks to the side. Make sure you pack at least 2L water per person if you decide to also do the gorge track! Can't recommend it enough!

This place is quite beautiful. A good walk for the family, however as I was unprepared for the professional trails, I got lost about 2 hours in and had to make a double trip back as I didn't have a pre-planned route or the right equipment and clothing. Consisting of small trails bustling with trees, bushes and all things nature galore. Even steep parts of the walk I had to use my hands on. I will return to conquer this trail one day. Unless you're experienced and well-prepared. Do not attempt this trail. Otherwise, one of the most beautiful places to hike near in Adelaide

Gorgeous views of the Onkaparinga Gorge! Walking trails to suit all, and many of them are now legally ridable so bring a bicycle too.

Expect to see roos on the side on the Punchbowl Link Trail.

We parked our caravan at Pink Gums Camping Ground for 4 nights in late May. The weather was overcast and showery but that made for ideal walking conditions. The River Hike is a 4.5km return hike from the parking area down to the gorge. Although there is quite a climb into and out of the gorge the track zigzags around the hills to keep the grade manageable. The scenery along the route and in the gorge is beautiful and well worth the walk.
The campground is well maintained and basic. 11 sites, each with a firepit are all within walking distance of the single flushing toilet. No other facilities are provided. Sites are bookable online.
