Oasis Tourist Park reviews
74Staff was amazing, Brooke got us in at the drop of an hat. Very good facility's and squeaky clean. We could not use the disabled shower due to plumbing concerns but we managed. Thanx guys for a amazing stay.
Not a bad little place quite cheap real kid friendly as there's a pool there arcade like games in the game room which looked really cool
Reception were so friendly, cabin was really nice and they have a good games/lounge area. Loved it there
Loved our stop here in Coober Pedy. This park is really central to the town, perfect spot. The park itself is a bit different but facilities pretty good. The most modern spacious bathroom which was welcomed, nice big shower cubicles which were amazing, you can get dressed without standing on wet floor! The tour with the owner was so fun, we had a bus full and was a great way to see Coober Pedy. Missed the breakaways unfortunately due to road being closed for something to do with the finx racing.
I stayed here with my camper while passing through on a shady pitch with electricity for $42. Shower $1 for 7min. Brand new very clean laundry building. As a woman, I felt very comfortable and safe here.
Staff very friendly and helpful, excellent camp kitchen, clean amenities and quiet position
I didn't stay there but took the tour they do of the mines and church it was alright. But what made it fantastic was George the tour guide he is very funny and fair dinkum aussie and a character
It's a surprise package. Great service Hot showers. Great tours. Rain great for the locals.funky kind of town.
Very well kept, beautiful amenities. Gates close at night for safety. Reception staff were so friendly.
Town tour with George was informative and fun.
Do not miss the Town & Mine Tour with George, the owner! He is a great tour guide and knows the town inside out. We really enjoyed our tour - thanks George! Now to the caravan park - amenities, pool & everything is supertidy. The place is secure, gates will be locked by 10pm. Please note - water hook-ups available but no fling of watertanks & showers are $1 for 7 minutes. Coober Pedy gets the water from the Artesian Basin, then it is desalinated & filtered, which makes the water from Coober Pedy the most expensive in AU.
Also note that the water for sale at the BP station is NOT AVAILABLE as it's out of order.
Five stars for the receptionist that was lovely and very helpful. Four stars for and the amenities that were clean and very tidy in our pet friendly accomodation. Happy campers:)
To be clear: I did not stay here, I am reviewing the sunset tour in the Kanku National Park. The views were beautiful but the tour guide was incredibly racist and disrespectful towards Indigenous Australians. I was absolutely shocked by some of the things he said, clearly showing he does not respect their traditions and beliefs. He did this while also using their stories to talk about the park, which I find hypocritical. If you think their beliefs are ridiculous, then don't use them to entertain guests on your tour. It takes absolutely zero effort to not be a bigoted person. To give some examples of things he said: he stated that the government has given back too much land to Aboriginal Australians (you do realise that it was theirs first and was stolen from them, right?), he laughed about them not wanting to bring rocks from another place to add to sacred rocks in this park, he ridiculed the penalties/fines you can get if you destroy anything that has sacred or cultural value to Aboriginal Australians, he mocked the decision of the government to not let people climb the Uluru anymore (in reality, a notable reason for that decision were for safety reasons as too many people had died climbing the rock, doesn't sound ridiculous to me), and I could go on.
This all made me feel very uncomfortable. He was nice to me and the other people attending the tour, but I'm pretty sure that was only because we were all white.
If you want to see the Kanku National Park, I definitely recommend it because it is incredibly beautiful. But I would advise everyone to either go on your own or book a tour with another organisation.
Great little caravan park and the staff were happy and helpful. Easy walking distance along Main Street and to some of the tourist spots. We also paid to do a couple of tours through the caravan park which we thoroughly enjoyed. George was a wonderful tour guide.
Very friendly welcome from the hostess and Neville kindly guided me into our allocated space. A shaded site with power and water for two adults we paid $77. A bit pricey but this is an oasis in the outback. There is a standing one off charge for the water supply, turned on with the tap key provided. Water charge was the $7. Water is at a premium out here, filtered artesian water good for drinking. Non domestic use is not allowed. Dog friendly our 2 boys were warmly welcomed. There is a pool. Amenities are very good. The gates are locked overnight for added security. Your receipt gets 10% of the local pizza bar and 2c per litre off fuel.
Great caravan park. We enjoyed two stays here on our way to Uluru and back. On the way up we arrived with gusts up to 90km/h and had a site out of the wind and undercover. It wasn't to windy on the way back, but hot and the shade cover was great. The amenities are modern and always clean, their tour was great and staff are friendly. Used their discount for fuel and pizza's, the pizza's are delicious, and overall a great stay twice. Great phone reception for bot telstra and Optus.
Best spot to stay in Coober Pedy for camping! Close to the shops and restaurants on the main street. Staff all super friendly and welcoming, we had an unpowered site which was located close to amenities. Bathrooms were sparkling clean and modern, laundry and the kitchen facilities were clean and in good working order. Happy to pay $1 for the shower considering the cost of water for the area and it was nice water. We did the morning tour with George around Coober Pedy - highly recommend you won’t regret it. Learning about the history of Coober Pedy from George as well as good pointers from him for your stay whilst you’re there! Couldn’t recommend this place more.
We stayed on a powered site down the back. Nice quiet secure park but back amenities building needs serious attention. Lack of lighting of a night time, severely cracked tiles on bathroom floor. At one point even tho cleaners had been in and done there job there was no soap in the dispenser. $1.00 a shower and $7.00 water fee. We would stay again but would hope the facilities had been updated
(stayed in a cabin two years ago and cleanliness was not up to standard, lipstick stains on glassware, filth between lounge cushions so would avoid cabins)
Super 2 night stay in Coober Pedy.
Staff: friendly and welcoming
Grounds: flat and some shade available
Toilets and showers: 2 blocks, 1 near reception were new, others at the back of the site were older but all were immaculate. $1 for a 7 minute shower seemed fair enough given water situation.
Free wi-fi would have been nice.
Did the morning town tour and the sunset Breakaway tour with George, can highly recommend both.
Bit run down but their trying. Great swimming pool inside the tank. Toilets and showers are very good but cost an extra $1 for 7 mins. Powered sites under cover but if you want water it will cost extra $7. You do get a discount of 2c a litre at Bulls Service Station. It's Coober so everything costs.
Nice and clean little gem in the middle of no where. Coober Pedy. Very friendly staff. Thank you for our stay
