Oaklands Recreation Plaza

The Plaza is only a small area with a very small carpark but it is packed with things to do for kids of all ages.
From the energetic Skate park to the leisurely picnic table and bonus there is a Public toilet.
But as someone who walks here it also serves as an entrance to the much larger reserves the Wetlands and the Estate. And as such it's like a breath of fresh air that welcomes you to the peace and tranquillity of Oaklands.

Love this place to walk my dog and relax. A great range of activities and events over the course of the week so keep an eye on the Marion council website. I catch up with girlfriends in the morning and walk our dogs and have a good chat over there. The wetlands are beautiful with wildlife too. If you like to take photos.

Great park for a stroll in the wetlands, or with the kids down the back is a playground, plenty of grass areas and BBQs, dog friendly. Great place for family get togethers.

Great spot for beginner skateboarders and scooters with enough room for everyone. Also has a basketball area ideal for a 3v3 game.

I don't skate or ride anymore but I do love rc toys and this place is great! Perfect for beginners on a board or bmx and the back corner kind of bowl section is really cool. So many options of lines for the more experienced. I try and go during quiet times as I'm just bashing rc buggies these days. Seats, shelter and a well maintained toilet surounded by trees and grassy areas. Top spot to spend the arvo.

Lovely walk around, play area for the kids, play area for the dogs, plenty to see here great job Marion Council! One of the best city walks around here

Love taking my dog here but you need to put better dog water facilities around the wetlands USED MEAT TRAYS is not acceptable.

Always kids or adults playing or practicing their sports.
Well maintained, and always clean.
Plenty of shade for bbq or parties.

A little boy died here 6 months ago he now haunts this place very scary watch out for the ants that get in you're pant when sitting down in all the piss and beer on the seats

Really good spot that has multi skilled sections for all riders.
It can get quite busy but its still worth the stop, 99% of riders respect eachother and the courtesy rules

Awesome skate park for the kids, lots of variety and even a little mini parkour area for young ones.

Ripper skate park. Some good sections for begging and advanced. Good paths. Good shade. Drinking fountains, seating and a good bunch of kids.
Maybe some more car parks could be handy.

ENJOYABLE, A BIT ON THE SMALLER SIZE BY COMPARABLE RECREATIONAL SKATE PARKS, BUT AS SAID ENJOYABLE. FUNCTIONAL

I just happened past this amazing place today and i couldn't believe my eyes, i thought that it must be a part of a business or the swimming pool but it was a standalone playground with the most amazing play equipment i could only imagine what the children think of this spectacular wonderland.

Great place for a BBQ, but Bush area looks a little "how's your mother". The skate area gets a lot of use.

If you bring your children here. Control them please. Other people do go to this skatepark to actually skate and ride for practice and have fun. We’re not trying to get cut in front of and falling off because of young children. Yeah we’ve all been children and loved to run a muck but damn it’s not fun to be in the middle of it.

Not a bad skatepark, but could have done well with a nice long rail. Transition is more suited to nice flowy skating. Good lines, but only a couple spots where the quarters arent curved around or on a slope.

Great place to skate and hangout. Amazing program fortnightly on Thursdays with free food, drinks and great people that really care!

This is a great facility but it's too close to residences. Very noisy especially when users departing late at night. Marion Council has been derelict in it's failure to turn off lights (it doesn't seem to have noticed daylight saving has started) and closing gate at night. Users ignore the bins provided and drop litter everywhere, which pollutes the adjacent wetlands.
