O Bun Chef reviews
19 Oh bun chef, you're an Adelaide gem! I stumbled upon this coconut delight that sent my taste buds to cloud nine. But, oh no! When I swung by for seconds, they were all snapped up.
If you find yourself in Chinatown, make a beeline for this spot. The coconut treat is a flavor explosion, and the lady behind the counter is an absolute legend. Five stars for taste, service, and making my dessert dreams come true.
Adelaide peeps, you're lucky to have this gem in your foodie arsenal. Don't miss out – grab a coconut treat and thank me later!
STUNNING
Just can't decide on my favourite flavour. Current dead heat between all of them.
Really delicious. The staff are lovely. We've made it a must visit when we go to the markets
Absolutely to die for! Great value and a must stop every time I'm in the Market Plaza. Different flavours to try and definitely a hidden gem in the Markets!
My husband phuc the taxi driver comes in the city and gets me the coconut and the custard filled ones
me and the kids love them
Taiwanese flavour, very yummy. (Maybe because I’m Taiwanese, I think they can make it better. So only 4 stars) recommend to everyone ~
I have been coming here since I was a child it’s hands down one of my favourite little treats to get when in the city. Staff are always lovely too definitely worth a try if your around the area
Absolutely Amazing Custard Buns!
Never EVER been disappointed with their buns, always delicious and hot every time. Staff are really friendly and are quick to serve you.
A little gem in the heart of the Adelaide Central Market, definitely worth some time to check out.
And only being priced at $2.50, this place can’t be beat for a quick and cheap dessert!
FIVE OUT OF FIVE STARS! You guys really deserve it!
My most favourite custard buns ever! I love these custard buns! It’s always my go-to place! It’s all my childhood! You guys can easily find it at Chinatown near the Asian shop! Do recommend this place! ️
The red bean and custard filling buns are my preferences here as they are delicious. Definitely worth trying for dessert if you're into pastries. Yours truly @fooderarri
It’s been a local for me ever since they had their first shop on king William st back in 2010 best custard buns I’ve ever had!
This is the best Obanyaki (Imagawayaki) in Adelaide!
Closest to (if not actual) the authentic taste of those being sold in Japan.
Vanilla Custard in Photo
They now accept eftpos/card for payment for a minimum price
Our family loves their custard! Whenever we go to central market we buy 2 box of 10s. It's always freshly prepared and deliciously warm. The taste and quality never disappoints!
I tried the chocolate flavour and it was more of a thick paste than a gooey oozy chocolate filling. Coming from Singapore and comparing it to the standard of Mr Bean.it certainly didn't come close.
Makes the Taiwanese woman happy although she would like them to be more waffle like. Only red bean for her as she is traditional.
Absolutely delicious fresh and hot! Reminds me of being in Japan eating taiyaki! Loved the custard ones!
Delicious and cheap simple little desserts, I tried the custard and red bean, both fantastic. Great option after some lunch in the markets, have them warm and fresh!
Delicious little crispy sponge treats with soft centres, including custard, chocolate, coconut, lemon and others.
This place is CASH ONLY.
Made fresh in store, on demand.
Located next to Kim Wang market.
After a trip to Hong Kong I came across the wonder that is an egg tart. O Bun Chef brought the find memories for these little treats flooding back. They specialise in the biscuit variety as apple to the Portuguese pastry type. They have many variants including custard, chocolate, coconut and more. Tasty and cheap: D
