Nuttbush Retreat reviews
38This is a must stop for the night, caretakers are absolutely brilliant, and there is a restaurant and bar there is well, happy hour between 5 and 6 and the meals are great and a great price, amenities are spotless. Would highly recommend staying here.
It's our second time to Nutbush and the new managers Peter and Corrina could not have been more helpfull. They were hit by a hail storm earlier that day and it tore through their annex. Still wet from sorting it out Corrina greeted us with a smile and sorted us out. Good meals, book them early, happy hour 5-6pm, amenities well looked after, powered and unpowered sites also cabins and a very nice pool. Totally recommend this place for a stay.
The Grippies, Jeff and Chris.
This is a great spot for a Bush Camp with nice ausi hospitality, pool and gravel powered sites. Amenities are very good. Nice country atmosphere with a woolshed dining area on end of shearing shed as needed. Thanks Deb and Co.
Pulled into this site on our trip travelling across from Melbourne to WA. Pulled in for a few minutes to use the bathroom while passenger was asleep and both were abused by the owner (assuming it’s the owner) for pulling in. Guy had no hospitality, we had been on the road all night and lacked all respect towards us. We saw the public park signs and restrooms/restaurants signs so pulled in, treated us as if we weren’t welcome. Horrible experience and will never recommend to anyone and will make sure everyone who talks about our trip knows to avoid. Don’t be in hospitality if you don’t want to talk to people respectfully
The place itself was good. Toilets and showers were clean and well kept. It was just a pity about the Managers attitude and abruptness.
Convenient place to call in after a long drive. Conveniences are extremely clean. A bit of road noise but bearable.
Beautiful place and very clean amenities, owners were super helpful. I totally recommend this place
Are the reviews for real. The food was not local it was the same food you buy from a supermarket freezer, not including the meat. The cost of dinner was far too expensive for what we got.
Manager although unique, was not the friendly person everyone seems to think. Site was good and amenities were good, but close to road and noisy trucks. I would not advice anyone not to stay as it is ok but please review accordingly.
Rustic charm with friendly staff. Very hot on the day we arrived but the pool was cool and refreshing. All facilities were provided and the dining was a great experience
Just spent a night at Nutbush Retreat and only 30kms west of Pt Augusta and a great spot for an overnighter. The experience of dining in the old shearing shed and having a meal of local produce to support our people on the land was better than any 5 star restaurant. The facilities are basic but exactly what you would expect on any station stay and were absolutely spotless. The pool was sparkling and after a long drive was very refreshing. Manager Deb was so friendly and jovial you thought you were just part of the Nutbush family. Will definitely stay again next time we venture across the Nullarbor.
Love it. Deb and Richard (chef) are great. Food awesome, cold beer. Deb will go far and beyond to make you feel welcome. Yes it's a working sheep station, but everything is clean. Good pool for a cool down.
Have stayed here twice now. The great Aussie lingo may come out, but would you expect anything else. ️
Thanks Deb and Richard.
Stayed here one night. We were travelling with a friend, a lady. We were given rooms at opposite ends of the accommodation complexeven though we appeared to be the only guests other than caravans, given our friend was a woman on her own and that the place was empty would have made us more comfortable and been good business to upgrade her and offer two rooms next to each other. Rooms were OK bed was small for 2 and very high off the floor. Shower block clean and functional. Museum $4 each, not worth it. Overall rooms good value but will not stay in the accommodation again, ok if your a backpacker or in a caravan.
Stayed one night on our trip back from Lincoln NP, such a special place, we missed the dinner unfortunately.
Lovely staff, the saltwater pool was amazing, and the grass was the greenest I've seen on the whole trip across the Nullabor. Sure the traffic noise is a thing but that is present at every roadside stop. The place has a rec room, a camp kitchen, motel rooms, and powered sites. Really nice place to stop over!
Clean, comfortable rooms. We greatly appreciated the late check in. If you don't stay for the charm of the shearing shed/dining room then definitely stay for the night sky. Thank you, we will be back
Amazing place to stay, great amenities, tidy flat camp ground for caravans! Unreal homestyle food and the best hosts Deb and Richard! Would definitely stay here again thanks so much for having us! Tim, Chloe, Jessie and Maddi
We stayed at Nuttbush for one night on an unpowered pitch. We would have loved to have stayed for longer and will definitely be back. We came in late November with our dog who can be a little nervous. The place was quite and the managers were so accommodating. The facilities are greatly, the decor is is like stepping back in time but in all the right ways and really added to the experience. It's well maintained, clean everything has been thought of. We had a swimm in the pool, a relax in the spa, a cuppa in the kitchen, plaid a game of pool and relaxed in the lounge area. The shower was powerful and hot too which was great. We look forward to returning and having dinner in the restaurant and looking in the museum's. Highly recommended.
Clean and tidy. Great place to stay. Bacon and egg roll and coffee for breaky set up the day. Beautiful home made biscuits to take away. We'll be back. Thanks Deb and Richard
Great spot. Did overnight cabin and it was old sheerers quarter's done up. Bit of a skip out to get water or use the facilities, but oh so cute. Dinner in the sheering shed was great. Get your order in early.
This place was dirty, no animals. You can only walk though 24 meters of the land and they charge more for rooms then on the website
