Norwood Ballet Centre

My daughter has been attending ballet lessons over 2 years in Norwood Ballet Centre and she is always exited to go there each single time. The teachers are all professional, kind, caring and supportive. They are always smiling and nice to talk with and encouraging. My daughter loves them! This term she begins to try Jazz and her big brother also joined in. They had lots of fun. As their parent I could not be more satisfied with the centre. From what I see this popular ballet centre has families from all kinds of different backgrounds and all kids are treated nicely like a big family. Thanks for the great job, Miss Tara, Miss Lauren, Miss Jackie and all the other teachers!

My 6 and 9 year old daughters have been going here for ballet since they were not even two and a half years old. Mrs Thompson, her daughters Tara and Lauren and their helpers are great teachers: they're very kind and warm to all of the children and they make the lessons enjoyable, but they care about technique, too. You don't need to be stern to produce good dancers. And while they do notice dancers who have great potential, they are very encouraging and pay attention to all of the dancers. They're great to deal with - I email them every so often with a special request about changing days / classes and I get a response back on the day and things are never a problem. They're very accommodating. Yes I do really really like them but it's with good reason.

A good mix of opportunities for advanced children - but also very inclusive for kids who are not natural dancers or who have special needs. Very welcoming environment.

Our daughter has been going to this ballet school for nearly 8 years. The teachers have been nothing but supportive, understanding, knowledgeable and caring. It is clear how much time, love and effort they put in to their students as a small family business. Couldn’t be happier.

My daughter has attended NBC for 7 years, She takes classes in ballet, tap, hip hop and contemporary and adores her classes. The girls are genuinely supportive of each other and there is not a "Dance Mom" attitude in sight. Competitions and exams are available for those who wish to do them. Three of my daughter's have all attended Norwood Ballet Centre and have thoroughly enjoyed it. The environment is warm and inviting and classes are well structured with highly professional teaching staff. Our fourth daughter has just begun baby ballet and we are extremely pleased with our choice of ballet school.

I highly recommend Norwood Ballet Centre. I have had 2 girls attend over the past 10 years and have nothing but respect for the dedication that the teachers have for their students. They have been very supportive and caring, my girls have grown into confident teenagers.

I started going to Norwood Ballet School when I was probably about 5, Miss Thompson might be able to correct me there but from classical, jazz, modern, and Flamenco, this was my dancing sanctuary until I went overseas at aged 24,14 years ago, yet I still count many of the girls I danced with as well as Tara and Lauren who have stepped into the teaching roles over the years as my longest, closest and dearest friends - and certainly not at all the type of people some of the bogus reviewers on here have suggested.
Having recently returned from London, I did even start back with adult ballet but sadly I haven’t been able to go this year. I fully intend to pick it back up again as this institution of Adelaide provides a warm, relaxed environment at the same time as being consummate professionals who have been in the business for years and truly know what they are doing. Every time I drive past I look down the path and my other half has lost count of how many times I’ve told him that’s where I did ballet! I used to love the end of year productions and still am proud to say I performed on Australia’s biggest stage, the Festival Theatre. Thank you Miss Thompson (as you will always be known to me), Tara and Lauren, if my little boy is into dance when he arrives, I know where I’ll be sending him:)

I have always had nothing but praise for the professionalism and enthusiasm that the teachers display and this shines through to the students. I can highly recommend this ballet school for those wanting their children to learn the art of dance from teachers who are truly passionate about their craft.

The teachers at Norwood Ballet are professionals. It’s been a pleasure to see our 5 year old daughter grow under their guidance for the past 2 years. You recognise the “know how” in their routines across all age groups. Your heart melts when you see the fruit of their work.

My 4 yo daughter can be shy at times but she really loves dancing and wanted to take classes. Miss Hannah and Miss Tara are both extremely patient people and wonderful teachers. They always take the time to help all of the children to feel comfortable and enjoy their lessons. They have created a nurturing, inclusive and fun environment. Through their gentle encouragement my daughter even got up on stage and participated in a performance which was something that she desperately wanted to do, she was really thrilled about it! We are very happy with Norwood Ballet.

My granddaughter attended ballet classes for 1.5 years here. She suffers from anxiety and the teachers were very good at assisting her to feel comfortable and settle into the classes each week. Tara was also very observant at recognising when her skills had improved and recommended she would benefit from moving up a class (twice). There was never any pressure on her to perform at the concerts (mid and end of year), only encouragement to enjoy herself and participate in the classes.

We love Norwood Ballet! The teachers are all absolute professionals who have nurtured both my daughters through their ballet experiences over many years. My eldest daughter has been a Norwood ballet student for over 11 years and I’ve been nothing but impressed with the tutelage she has received. Most of all I am grateful to Jackie, Tara and Lauren for the kindness and care they have shown both my girls. This amazing trio certainly go above and beyond in every aspect as far as we are concerned. We are huge fans!

Lovely ballet school with the right mix of fun and formal dance tuition. My six-year old daughter has attended ballet classes at Norwood Ballet Centre for over two years. Beyond happy with the caring nature, supportive environment, exclusive attitude and excellent ballet tuition. We have been attending for 8+ years and my daughter has developed wonderfully. She is growing into a young adult surrounded by caring and loving people. She has the confidence to try new things, be herself and appreciate the effort it takes to succeeds. She hasn’t always been the best student, but the patience of Tara, Lauren and Miss Thompson has been invaluable. She has always been included, no matter what she looks like!
