Nijumaru Japanese Restaurant reviews
36 Nice food, good service especially from the male server. Price is alright, and definitely recommend to everyone to give it a try!
Lotus root, Chicken Karaage, stir Trio Mushroom were great!
The food was delicious and fresh. We loved everything we ordered and our selections were cooked and presented in good order.
This is the best sushi place in the whole of Adelaide hands down. Defiantly worth their all you can eat it is AMAZING!
An absolutely fabulous casual meals restaurant. Great authentic Japanese food and drinks at a good price. A bit loud for us oldies who have trouble hearing but that's what happens in a busy restaurant. Waiting staff were lovely and the food came out in pretty good time, considering the number of people. A few more dessert options would be good. Mitarashi, Michigan or Manju come to mind.
Excellent food and service at a great price. The food was delivered very quickly. Highly recommended
Very nice sushi place, right by the water at Glenelg. We got a-la-carte, and were full from one appetizer and one role each. I’m sure AYCE would be fun too if I was hungrier. Great service, thank you!
The good:
Fun vibe, good for a drunken BYO if you aren't fussed about the taste of the food
Nice servers
Salmon sashimi, scallop nigiri and the maki rolls were delicious
The bad:
The food from the kitchen, essentially pre-made, pre-frozen food that's been deep fried.
"Okonomiyaki" a deep fried hockey puck
The Ebi "Tempura", more like a heavy dense batter, not tempura.
Agedashi tofu - tasteless
Good value for money with the AYCE $43 per adult. Sushi orders are made fresh and were delicious, especially the Salmon Aburi Nigiri. Great quality sashimi. Takoyaki was nice enough however needed more sauce, mayonnaise and bonito flakes. The same goes for the Agedashi Tofu. Service was great however saw a few staff members approach the table near us and pointed to their watch to indicate that the group had gone over their 90 minutes timeframe. Subtlety would probably have been more appropriate or to speak to the customers directly.
Would definitely return and recommend other than that.
You emailed asking for my review, so here it is. This was my 3rd visit and likely last.
You've gone from serving amazing food, quality ingredients, made spot on; to serving stuff that a sushi train beats.
My rolls had the tiniest bit of chicken in each, like tiny - not to mention it was basically a piece of gristle and the rest was rice - it was like eating a ball of rice.
I wish now I had taken photos to accompany this review you asked for but I was honestly to appalled too and wasnt going to bother doing anymore than mentioning it to the waitress that collected what I left behind.
My parnter and I did all you can eat and 2 soft drinks totalling over $90, absolutely obsurd for the quality or rather lack of that we got.
One of the best sushi experiences I've had, because of two things: the food and service. First, the sushi has to be quality and it was. Second, the service must be attentive where it needs to be, friendly, and assuring. This was my first sit-down sushi experience (other than a train) and I was nervous. But the staff were made us feel comfortable, brought out the food so fast! The hot stuff took a little bit longer but it was fresh and piping hot and we were able to enjoy cold sashimi and nigiri in between! When we had questions about something the server overheard it and came back and answered and it helped so much.
I highly recommend the All You Can Eat even if you think you may not get the full "value" out of it. It allows you the freedom of trying different dishes you normally wouldn't try and having a lot of fun just ordering whatever you want. It didn't matter to us, we more than ate our fill (and then couldn't walk after).
Will 100% be back again and again.
The California rolls promised crab stick and avocado. Most of the avocado was egg yolk fashioned to look like avocado. Very disappointing.
Only 1 raw fish, served warm, and so wafer thin the rice can be seen under it. Gyoza so bad the kids wouldn’t eat em. No fish rolls.
Good for mass produced food. Slightly bland compared with other high quality restaurants. You'll need to be hungry if you want your moneys worth with the all you can eat setup.
First time diner, absolutely loved the food, staff and atmosphere, will definitely be returning.
Great Japanese food. Ordered some quirky non-alcoholic Japanese drinks and was not disappointed. Definitely coming back
Delicious food, great variety.
I wish they were open for lunch, at least during the summer holidays.
If you were rich and have no place can spend your money, you can choose Nijumaru. If you hasn’t been eating for a week, you can choose Nijumaru. The sushi and other dishes were awful. There are so many place serving good japanese style food so why choose here? Kinda waste money and my time:).
A little disappointed with steak very chewie and dumplings overcooked.
Tea was tasteless.
I had a good dinner at the restaurant. The meal was amazing and the price was worthy. However, sometimes I thought I ordered something but they didn’t serve it. Therefore I couldn’t decide whether I need to order more. It was not a big problem for this good experience. In addition, the staff was helpful for my dinner, she gave me a lot of suggestions. Thank you.
Great place in an awesome location! Friendly, speedy service, very fresh fish and the all you can eat option is definitely worth it. You won't leave disappointed!
