Newland Head Conservation Park reviews
19The campground was good, in general everything was clean, my partner and I saw many kangaroos, very nice place
Breathtaking views along the coastline. Several hikes and surf beaches to visit. Highly recommend a visit if you're looking for some time in nature
Do not swim here! Very dangerous! Surf beach for experienced surfers but also a great place to breathe the clean sea air and amazing views of the wild landscape and ocean
If you love trails, beach, surf, fishing and appreciate the simple luxury of toilets, then put this beautiful place on your bucket list!
Great place to get away and explore nature. Unfortunately the whole conservation park is unfriendly to dogs which is such a shame. Amazing walks a scenery.
This is a Lovely part of South Australia and very accessible, a great day walk or as part of the Heysen trail if your looking for an extended walk, we went from Waitpinga to the Bluff and with lunch and drink stop's took about 5 hrs
The Heysen trail from King's Beach to Waitpinga rock climbing area was well maintained and a nice hike with stunning views. The approach to the Cepholapod rock climbing area is difficult and unforgiving, and should always be done with a partner.
Great spot for camping or even just a day trip picnic. There's toilet facilities and plenty of shade. The beach is amazing, but the water can get pretty rough.
The walk between Balquhidder and Waitpinga is just stunning. I was lucky to see surfers and dolphins surfing the water together. Amazing and different rock structures. A must do walk
If you love the beach and also love hiking.this is your dream destination for your holidays.
With its miraculously humongous waves this ocean contributes as a home to some huge lovely whales. Enjoy the view with some sizzling soda and walk all the way around the cliff with your friends and family.you're gonna love it!
Coastal cliffs walking trail is really beautiful around the cliffs! A quiet walk but beautiful scenery and nice sounds of the waves crashing into the cliffs.
Plenty of unallocated campsites (just choose a spot that works for you) and heaps of parking. About $20ish per car per night but no caravans or trailers). We couldn't get any phone coverage in the park (not even Telstra), so book ahead of time (but you can get it back on the main road or down at the beach. There are flushing toilets and rain water (boil before use) plus BBQ facilities. Rangers were onsite daily (and volunteer host staying at the entrance of the park) that checked in with us and informed us about the extreme weather and potential closure of the park due to fire danger. Great cliff top walk from the camp, and close to a beach where there were plenty of people fishing. Would recommend the site's off to the side of the larger ground as they are a bit nicer (closer to the BBQ facilities and road into the park can get a bit noisier, but we found them to be nicer). We overheard people commenting on how busy it was when we were there, and we had no issue finding a campsite. Bins available throughout grounds too. Saw lizards and kangaroos during 2 night stay. Would recommend to bring your warm clothes for overnight, middle of summer was about 11 degrees. Plenty of shade and trees for hammocks and solar showers
Walk along the cliffs at Newland Head Conservation Park, enjoy the views, flora and fauna along the Heysen Trail! Amazing!
Beautiful spot. Not a soul in sight today. Coastal Cliff walk is definitely a must see, plenty of local flora and great view of geology from the cliff top. Walking SA listed this as a four hour hike and we managed it in under two with a stop for snacks and photo opportunities. Very happy to see no signs rubbish of human interaction other than footprints.
Good campsites, shelter and even a BBQ make this a great place for a day trip. Walk along the beach or to the cliff tops for great views asking the coast. Nice central place for other trips along the coastline. Also nice and quiet.
Great place with bbq toilet block and plenty of space with a 10 minute walk through sand dunes to the beach
Wonderful views of coastline, many walks, surf fishing/surfing at either parsons or waitpinga beach, toilets at all carparks.
Camping area in bushland near waitpinga beach with good facilities, flushing toilets, some water for washing and excellent undercover seating with gas barby
Minimal phone coverage so book online and is $20.00 a car.
Only grizzle is you aren't able to park your car right next to campsite.
Cool little beach and great natural parkland. Camping could be a little crowded in busy season though.
Great relaxing place to camp, good facilities, only down side no fires allowed but definately worth it.
Good walking trails to a beautiful view!
