Nest Bistro Coffee Bar reviews
57Pleasant first experience at Nest. Returned today (1 year later) and it was the complete opposite! Our table ordered and paid for drinks, only to be told they had run out of lemonade and also beer. A cook / chef delivered food to our table dripping in sweat then proceeded to wipe it away with his hand. Had to ask for cutlery and napkins and the people next to us had to ask for plates. Food was underwhelming. Overall the service was extremely sloppy. Will not be going back.
There was no salad served with fish and chips for $28. Most places would serve salad with the fish and chips for this price.
My friend and I go there every Sunday morning. Great coffee and food, and very friendly service
Busy venue on a Friday afternoon. We had a wonky table and the laminex edge was peeling off and kept catching my sleeve. That detracted from what could have been a nice coffee and lunch.
It wouldn't take much to fix. Small details like that count toward customer experience.
The food is nice enough, classic bistro and reasonable sized servings. Wait staff are friendly. But.too many times now, we've had excessive waits for food.
On return visit will try the menu, dishes coming out for service looked appetizing.
Enjoyed our coffee & cake.
Great atmosphere modern and my go to place for meetings.
Great breakfast menu and best coffee
My gnocchi main course wouldn’t have filled up a child and the cold sagenaki was gross.
Utterly disappointed to say the least.
Came in first time and ordered mug soy latte and a easy tropical juice.the juice came out quick which was good.waited for about 10 mins and the latte never did.walked in and asked if there was a soy latte coming for table number.looked at the screen and order was not there.said she can do it right away.coffee came out about 5 mins later and 50% of it was just froth.
Meals were good and come out quite fast, coffee wasn’t too bad.
Lots of sitting area and lots of cake and cookies for something sweet
I’d suggest these owners watch Diners Drive Ins And Dives. Guy Fieri. Check You Tube.
You’ll. Be shocked at the excellent value for money everywhere in US.
Australian cafes need a wake-up call.
We went on a busy Sunday morning. Inside was packed & noisy but there are outside tables (each with a dog or two). Prices were high. We attempted to order two dishes modified to leave out the meat & fish but a complete fail. Probably too busy? Staff were friendly but run off their feet. Maybe a week day would be better? Not great value for money.
First and last visit. Had to ask to have our table cleaned. Occupancy maybe 40%. Ordered the “chicken”parmigiana which tasted like old fish. Dry withered salad, chips were acceptable. Took half of it home for the dog. Decided to bin it instead.
And is this suitable attire for waiting staff? Not even in Daveron Park let alone Walkerville. Staff have a general ‘give a fck’ attitude.
Decided on breakfast outing at last minute. Very busy on Sunday and so service was very delayed. Think we waited an hour for our breakfast meal. We were understanding of wait for food seeing how busy they were but were quite disappointed with the size of serving and presentation of food. Food was nice but not outstanding.
Terrible.ordered a bacon and egg piadina.got white toast.questioned them.thats what we do.no refund offered
Pluses:
- One of the better dirty chais I've had in Adelaide
- Gourmet mushrooms were delicious (when they came)
- reasonably priced breakfast
- staff polite
- reading material (magazines and newspapers) available for solo diners.
Minuses:
- so, so, SO busy
- my mushrooms/poached eggs took FOREVER to come and I had to chase them up
- when they did come, there was no Turkish bread as per menu so I had to chase that up as well
- my Turkish bread took another 5 minutes to turn up and by that time my mushrooms were lukewarm
- mushrooms/eggs were served in a ridiculous bowl (used for serving curries) which made eating them a frustrating experience.
Verdict: I'd go back for coffee but not for a meal.
Had a great walk with my group then back to Nest Bistro for a lovely mug of almond milk coffee and a chat. Mmmm. One member brought her dog. Covered outdoor space with a bowl of water!
Nest is a great café for pizza, eggs on toast and coffee. It is especially good if you go to the Walkerville shops after. The service there is avarge which is the only reason I give it 4 starts highly recommend
We live in the Barossa Valley and travel down once a month and always stop here for the best coffee, carrot cake and the fantastic service. Well done guys
