Murrays BBQ and Bar at the Exchange reviews
47Build your own platter was amazing, great serving size and lots of options for add ons etc.
The atmosphere is good & the staff helpful and friendly but the food was disappointing.
Grilled fish was wet like it was steamed & the chips overdone, the salad was not very appealing.
We love the food and atmosphere at Murray’s. On our last visit we waited 5 minutes at the bar counter while 5 or 6 staff walked around looking busy and not one acknowledged us while we were standing there waiting to be served.
To make things worse the same happened during our last visit.
Surely an acknowledgment to say I’ll be with you in a minute could have been done.
Back to the training your staff……as next time might be our last.
We had the chefs tasting board for 2 people.
Was very tasty and the staff accommodated a small change from chicken pieces to cheese cransky at no additional cost.
We also had the Blue Coconut cocktail of the month which was delicious!
Will be back to try more from the menu.
A great night out, fantastic atmosphere, service, a wide variety of beverages, and great quality yummy food!
Well done Murray Team!
Gripe up front, the internal ramp between the two dining areas was hard to navigate as my hips are stuffed. Not impossible but just hurt kore than i liked. The good though definitely outweighted in shades with this place. The vibe was energetic and warm with a heritage buolding and plenty of quirks with a glass floor overlooking a ornamental piece. Good was amazing and filling we had the pork ribs and beef brisket with my son having the sliders all food was amazing and fast.
Staff were all very polite and welcoming it was just a really cruisey and stress free dining experience i would definitely recommend anyonr head down and enjoy we will definitely be back!
What a magnificent refurbished place.
Even the toilets make you feel like you are at the Hilton Hotel.
Lol
Because They are renovated to such a high classy level.
The American pork ribs were not only of a generous proportion but extremely tasteful
Be patient when ordering them.
They take longer to cook because of the slow cook style they require.
Patience required
Worth the wait.
Adelaide, folks, wanting to visit a country town, won’t be disappointed

We had lunch here on Saturday 4/3/23, boy was the food disappointing!
We ordered the Gravedigger burger with “crispy bacon” according to the menu.
The patty was huge and flavourless, no seasoning whatsoever, the so called crispy bacon was all fat and the hot chips were a grey colour and awful tasting.
I had to remove the burger and bacon so I basically ate a salad roll!
For $26 a burger I expect better.
There was no salt and pepper anywhere to be found and no sauce or Mayo for the chips.
After eating here several times I doubt very much we’ll be eating here again.
I’m not sure if there is a new chef or what the issue is but something needs to change.
No excuse really as they weren’t busy!
Great vibe to the place, fantastic food, friendly staff, highly recommend. Tried the show cooked meats in a share platter and 10/10
Great food, nice pub. Would have been 5 stars except some little things. No serviettes with chicken wings and no steak knife
Consistently good food, fun /relaxing atmosphere. Fresh, contemporary and attractive building and environment! We’re addicted to the burrito bowls! 10/10!
Good chips, kids were happy, not impressed that a serve of garlic bread was only one piece.
Meat on the ribs fell away from the bone. But corn was cold and apple slaw wasn't the tastiest.
Music was good too. All in a
Initially rated Murray’s BBQ a 4 star 4 years ago but since then I have been there for numerous occasions hoping that the next time might be a different experience. Tonight just had me very disappointed though. Not bad service, I will give them that. But food is well overpriced and below average quality. I ordered a southern fried burger; first of all it was absolutely burnt to a crisp, to the point that the crumbing could audibly snap in half. To top it all off, it was also missing pickles, tomato sauce and bacon as per described on the menu. My family who also ordered were also less than impressed by their meals. Whilst other reviews say different to my experience, I will be avoiding eating here in future unfortunately
Love the idea of making your own meat platter and adding other goods to it.
Lovely staff with excellent food, would reccomend to meat lovers.
Very underwhelmed with the food
Ordered a jug of coke and a glass of Pimm's
2 jugs arrived charged for both
Onions ring were very nice
Don't order the potato skins
Some friends and I attended this morning at around 7: 30am after the dawn service. 2 of them ended up with food poisoning after eating the bacon and egg rolls…
Great food and a nice atmosphere. A bit pricey but it all tastes great! Plus Moscato on tap! What's not to love
The staff here are friendly and helpful. Been here several times with my family and no one left hungry or disappointed!
Good food as always!
- Have visited a few more times since, and the meals are still awesome!
