Mr Viet reviews
28My go to place when it’s hot or when I’m in Rundle for a quick trip - love their sugarcane drink and banh baos!
Great customer service! Lovely family run business! Whenever I’m in the city, I always stop by and get a BBH, bao buns & Vietnamese ice coffee! Quick service & amazing food! What else can you ask for!
The vegan bun bowl is tasty! By itself though, I think the serving size is small. Might try it again with noodle and tofu add-ons. I'm excited to try the other vegan options.
All the tables I could find were sticky. Not a good indicator of hygiene. Coffee was ok-ish.
Main meal was tiny! 8 small prawns and a mountain of rice to make it look more.definitely NOT value for money! Combo roll full of meatloaf hardly any meat and absolutely no crackle! Won't be back!
I used to love this place but a recent visit found they have changed a lot. The lady at the check out is very rude, as if she didn't want to be there, the way she talked with customers was terrible. Food quality and quantity are noticably worse than before; if you love Viet food, there are plenty of better options than this one.
Service is a great but the food can be inconsistent especially when purchasing combination phô (fer), sometimes you get a good amount of ingredients sometimes not much. However the plating (lemon wedges in the soup and NO garnishes on the side) and the use of cheap and nasty tissue instead of napkins is by far the worst in the food court considering how much these guys would make by cutting the cost of the simple things is not an excuse to go cheap! Lift your game Mr. Viet
They serve pretty good and authentic Vietnamese drinks at the drinks cafe (a few stores away from the food restaurant). I liked the sugar cane drink, except if we mostly ice and didn't get much sugar cane from it. The jackfruit smoothie was also quite nice as I've not had it for a while. Both pretty cheap at $12 for the lot. Yours truly @fooderarri
Only cheap, but nothing else…pho taste just ordinary…. I believe if you would like to pay $1-2 extra for a good pho.there are many better restaurants just around the corner.
Had a combination pho and a beef pho with coconut juice as a side. Big stand out from the start would have to be the broth, full of flavour and balanced well with fresh chilli. Noodles and meat worked well together with the broth. Only downside unfortunately would be not having table water available or else it would be 5 stars. In turn, worth a visit. Cheers
Great place for vegan food even if you are not vegan.
The mock beef tasted and felt like the real deal.
So much so that I thought they got my order wrong.
I had the noodle bowl and it was great, I will try the pho next time.
Came here with my friend today and it was pretty good! My bao bun was a bit soggy but otherwise the food was all really yummy.really cute atmosphere and the ordering was very well organised.
Despite the excellent location and good prices the last dishes of the day looked like an anorexic immitation of a real pork chop and chicken. Dont be cheap with your products and furthermore, please dont try to convince a customer with a couple of eyes in the face that your meat looked like the picture in your menu. Very poor customer service. Woulnt come back.
The place had a very nice atmosphere, staff were friendly and the pricing was also reasonable.
I had issues with my order which unfortunately ruined my experience. The orders which were correct however we well enjoyed by my friends.
Mr Viet's has a good range of vegan options. I've had their vegan noodle bowl, and their vegan pho.
The noodle bowl tasted great, a good mix of flavors and extra sauces available on each table. However I did feel really gurgly in my tum after, and felt a bit sick for the rest of the day.
I went back some months later and got the vegan Pho soup, which comes with fake beef, tofu and bean sprouts. It was alright, it didn't make me feel sick, but nor did it taste amazing. It was kind of bland, with minimal ingredients and minimal flavor.
The atmosphere is fine, not super special but not at all unpleasant.
Solid mid-range place, woopwoop.
Too expensive for the little noodles salad bowl. The roast pork is very soft and bitter.
Bad place, won’t be back.
Some of the best Pho I've ever had (really loved the spicy beef), and the staff were all lovely and friendly. Couldn't recommend this place more.
Awesome Vietnamese food! The mock-meat bowl is so good, heaps of flavour. Staff are awesome and make it even better
I’ve been eating brunch/lunch here nearly every day for several years now, so I figure it’s time to post a review! The fact that I’m such a frequent customer says volumes in itself - here’s a few of the reasons: the food is always super fresh, good range of options, and as close to authentic as you might hope to find in a CBD cafe (I think it aligns fairly well with cuisine from Vung Tau region in Vietnam). I think I’ve tried and enjoyed everything on offer across the menu (except the spicy items, but other customers seem to really enjoy those too).
As a frequent customer, I’ve had a chance to observe how the team here behaves. The owners are incredibly personable, even when super busy at lunch times, and this attitude flows through to all the staff. They try *very* hard to learn their customers’ names, and I’m amazed how well they succeed with this, with many customers greeted by name as soon as they arrive.
Went here for the first time on Tuesday and was honestly the best pho I’ve ever had, the service was great and I loved the atmosphere of the restaurant!
