Mr Chaloob, words cannot thank you enough for changing my life. If it wasn't for your determination and patience I wouldn't be where I am now. Extremely happy and comfortable with who I am.

Also a big thank you to everyone on your team who helped me get to where I am today.

For anyone sitting on the fence, I say do it. I had the RNY bypass and have lost over 50kg in almost 2 years.

I was married 24th September 2022 and honestly felt like a princess.

Words cannot express how happy I am, thank you so much

I would recommend the following so Dr. Salim can increase the value he gives to his patients.
1- The amount of waiting time to see the doctor for consultation at the clinic was ~=30 minutes. I found this as inconvenient for me.
2- Dr. Salim consultation session is expensive, however, I could not get the best value out of it, as most of my inquiries were answered by " read the documentation" instead of answer or taking the effort to explain. I found the type of communication and the body language are passive aggressive.
3- The estimated cost of the Gastric sleeve surgery will exceed 23000 AUD, means if it is not covered yet by the private health insurance, you either have to wait 12 months to get your private health insurance covered, or to pay 20000 out of your pocket.
In general, I was not happy with my consultation experience at Dr. Salim Chaloob clinic.

Absolutely the best surgeon I've ever dealt with. He's so welcoming and understanding. Extremely knowledgeable and professional but always gives such a personalised approach to every client. I've had surgeries with him and cannot fault my treatment or recovery. His staff are amazing! I've never had a surgeon who cares so much about his patients and goes above and beyond to check up to see how you're recovering and going in life. Anyone who is looking for bariatric surgery or skin removal l would 100% in a heart beat always recommend Salim!
He changed my life and I'll forever be grateful to him! We love him!

My mother and I were both sleeved by Dr Chaloob, and Dr Jess Weekes, on the 07/10/2019 in Mildura. Once the decision was made that “yep this surgery is definitely for us” after many years of yo-yo dieting and finding nothing that worked for us to aid in a healthier lifestyle, we took the plunge and signed up for PHI (private health insurance).
We booked our initial consultation with Dr Chaloob and from the very first day we walked through his doors we were treated with respect, honestly informed of the whole process, and continually supported in our decision. We had to wait the standard 12 month wait period for our PHI to kick in, but this was a good thing, Dr Chaloob explained he didn't like his patients to feel rushed into surgery and encouraged us to use this "waiting time" to research our surgery and start to change our unhealthy habits before we could actually have the surgery and embark on our new lives - we successfully used this time and felt it was an essential part of our journey.

PRE-OP - Appointments included face to face appointments with Dr Chaloob (when we was visiting town), blood tests, a barium swallow (scan), and appointments with our lovely dietician. About 3 months before our PHI wait was up our surgery date was booked - the whole process was very easy and stress free.

DAY OF OP/HOSPITAL STAY - We had surgery in our rural home town of Mildura Victoria where Dr Chaloob was visiting/working at the time, which was great as it meant we had our family close by to support us rather than being a 4 hour drive away in Adelaide. My mother and I were very nervous the day of surgery (obviously) but we were reassured by Dr Chaloob and his team, and were also provided with a hard copy booklet of post op instructions/recommendations about what to expect, where to seek help from, what to look out for, diet, exercises etc. (which we were all provided in the lead up to having the surgery, but on the day of surgery to have that 'booklet' to take home was a huge help if we had any questions - and then of course if the booklet didn't tell us what we needed Dr Chaloob and his team were only a phone call/email away. I even remember having my hand held whilst being drifted off to sleep for my sleeve and it’s something I’ll never forget - it’s the little things/the extra mile that really counts. The following 2 days in hospital Dr Chaloob came to review us and ensured we were ready before being discharged home. We both experienced a little bit of post op pain.however due to the excellent education we were provided with by the team there was nothing we didn't expect or were worried about - we had a virtually uneventful recovery.

A YEAR POST OP - We both though we would have been “further along” with our journeys at a year post OP, BUT everyBODY is different and we need to remember that (for some WLS {weight loss surgery} patients) it’s a marathon not a sprint. My mother Tania has lost 43kg and I have lost 38kg. We've each lost over 150cm's in total body measurements. We could not be happier with these results - and Dr Chaloob + his team are also very happy with our results! The only hiccup we've had this whole time was we both had to have our gallbladders out after flare ups in March 2020, and even when our own hospital in Mildura cancelled our surgeries THE DAY we were meant to have them out, Dr Chaloob arranged for us to both be operated on by him in Adelaide that following week (rather than waiting another month for him to return to Mildura). We've had regular check ups and blood tests with Dr Chaloob this year, all of which have improved considerably - life is so much better!

My mother and I will never be able to thank Dr Chaloob, and Dr Weekes enough, their extensive knowledge, professionalism, as well as respectful and friendly approach is one of a kind - they have literally saved our lives.

The receptionists Ellen & Georgia have also always been very friendly and helpful when we've had queries.

(I could write about our wonderful experience with Dr Chaloob forever but I've ran out of room!)

I have Salim & his amazing team to thank for giving me my life back & for the opportunity to look forward to a future free of pain & reliance on pain killers & symptom modifying pills.

I have MS, Greives Disease (thyroid disease), Endometriosis, Fibroids, Ovarian Cysts & (until l had the gastric sleeve) an undiagnosed Hiatus Hernia l thought was an "MS HUĢ".

I have lost 32kg from my 165cm frame.
12 tablets from my daily medication routine, reducing it from 14 tablets to 1 1/2 tablets & a multiple vitamin per day.
MS has taken away my ability to walk unaided but after losing the weight I can now walk further & for longer without needing a rest & I can once believe l can give things a go without the anxiety of instant disappointment!

Many people think that a Grastric Sleeve operation is all about losing weight & looking good in clothes BUT for me it was always about the opportunity to get back to living my life with as much normality as I possibly can while living with MS & the disabilities it has gifted me along my 12year journey with it as my life companion.

I would have absolutely NO HESITATION in recommending a gastric sleeve performed by Salim & his team to anyone who is looking to improve their life especially my fellow MS warriors who no longer want MS to be the answer or reason we are constantly given as to why we feel the way we do

Changed my life for the better! After lots of research and advice from forums and GP I attend Mr Chaloob and his bariatric team for bariatric surgery.

From the start they were so professional, really informative, discussed all options and best procedure for me, the surgeon and all his team were so good at preparing me for the surgery. The surgery went very well and I recovered quickly.

The post operative care and ongoing support have further impressed me.

I have lost the weight, regained strength and life. Thank you for my life Mr Chaloob and team!
