Mr Chu Contemporary Eatery

Super friendly staff and the service is prompt. The few dishes we shared for dinner were very tasty and full of flavour. Got a little noisy as the restaurant was filling up. I would visit again. It's a little on the pricey side but the food is quite good.

The most Outstanding breakfast in the whole of Adelaide to date. Great service. Go and try their pana cotta …. Fresh …. Delicious

Lunch was absolutely delicious, we had panang beef curry & ultimatefried rice with truffle chick. It was delicious

My favourite place to grab a coffee in all of Norwood. The coffee is just delicious and usually only a short wait during weekdays.

Wide range of choices and service was great. Had a burger on the special with a speacial sweet chilli sauce, sauce is a bit too much but it is delicious. The laksa is average and normal on taste and portion, not my fav, other brunch options are better choices for me myself. Coffee was a bit disappointing.

The attempt at Western-Asian fusion didn't hit the mark for me. The roti didn't have enough flakiness and crunch, the burger was OK but left me rather wanting a real beef burger.

Had a lovely brunch at Mr Chu. It was so kind that they could accommodate my preference (steamed instead of fried rice in a nasi dish). Finished off with a thick and delicious berry smoothie. Overall a great experience.

We went to Mr Chu for my son birthday dinner. Food was amazing and the staffs were very friendly, they gave my son a surprise dessert with a candle. Thank you for your five stars service! We love your place!

Last Saturday my husband and I went to Mr Chu and we really like. All good, delicious brunch, the coffee was so good and the staff really friendly. I recommend that place.

I had the 'FEED mE' meal (roughly 70 bucks per head) with my husband and it was not what I expected after hearing good reviews of this place. We were served scallop as starter and light meal of fried tempura brinjal and fried squid, mains were lamb rib and soft shell crab fried again. The taste was just flat as I felt I was eating flour most of the time and it if not what I expected as I wanted more REAL taste than fried food. The setting and decoration for the shop is beautiful but the restaurant falls into our “NO RECOMMEND “category. Sorry guys.

Suggestion: . For the Feed me menu, do a mixture of fried and grill more, I think there are more grill or curry option on your menu that you can serve. Picking wisely perhaps it would be great.

Always a wonderful experience. Food is flavoursome and fresh, with plenty of variety. Staff always look after you and ensure you have everything you need. The resturant is clean and aesthetic with a wonderful atmosphere. 100% recommend, it's our favourite brunch destination!

Spotlessly clean (including the washrooms).
No delays in service.
Food was flawless.
Not overly expensive, but if the product and service is right one wouldn’t mind a somewhat higher price-point anyway.

The food was very fresh, tasty, and well presented.
I had S&P squid, and it was perfect!
The wagyu beef was also cooked just right and melted in my mouth.
Reports from those who had the soft-shell crab curry were that the sauce was too spicy hot. Be warned!
Nice selection of beers, wines, and cocktails, too.
Bench seats are very comfortable.

Best Laksa in East Adelaide. I’ve gone back several times for it, full of flavour! Would highly recommend their entire menu, we are never dissapointed. Plus, lovely service too!

Absolutely delicious food as always! We’ve been going to Mr Chu’s for a while now but only ever for breakfasts. Dinner was next level tasty and did not disappoint. Fresh ingredients, beautiful mix of flavours and impeccable service as always. For dinner, I highly recommend the eggplant and scallops for starters, then the roast pork and salt and pepper squid for mains. The som tum papaya salad was equally as tasty and was a great addition to have on a warm summers night.

Had a wonderful lunch at Mr Chu. Went in expecting not a lot, just an ordinary brunch, however the food was not bad. We ordered the calamari salad, nasi goreng, laksa and mushroom truffle. The food arrived swiftly, portions were very generous and overall the food was good. The laksa could’ve been better, regardless 4/5.

Not recommended at all.
-Breakfast Mushrooms are dry, over cooked, not fresh.
-Even Laksa soup is not hot, raw material inside the dish. If they wanted to do it SEA way like using raw bean sprouts in the noodle soup, at least the soup supposed to be hot, but sadly not.
-Coffee not tasty.
Overall $72.9 for these presentations are way too much.

The only good thing about this shop is the Norwood location.
By the way it’s the second time that I visited this place, definitely won’t back again because this very first meal of Lunar new year day one.
Hope you won’t experience same thing.
