Mount Lofty Summit reviews
56 You get the best view of the city from this place. Also the drive is really nice and scenic.
Parking will be paid and toilet facilities and restaurants available
Been to adelaide many times but never to mount lofty. Fantastic views and koalas in the trees but unfortunately my photo missed them. Highly recommended.
Cold and windy. The city is a bit far away but it’s good to see at least once. Free parking.
Our visit to Mount Lofty Summit was met with cloudy weather, obscuring what I'm sure would be a stunning view on a clear day. While the conditions were less than ideal during our visit, we could sense the potential this spot holds, especially during the sunny summer days.
The $5.20 parking fee for a quick lookout did feel a bit steep, but we understand that maintaining such scenic locations involves costs. Perhaps a more flexible pricing structure for shorter visits could be considered.
Despite the weather hindrance, we appreciated the accessibility of the summit and the opportunity to witness the natural beauty that surrounds Mount Lofty. We'll keep this on our list for a return visit, fingers crossed for a clearer day next time!
Good view. Great walking trail, but it was not as great as being meant to. We started with the waterfall gully car park. There are 7 waterfalls on the way, but only 2 were right on the path. Better check out on the map to view all of them. It was a steep up ride in some places which can be tiring, as i prefer stairs. This was because we have not done this for a while, but nothing difficult of you take rest once a while. The top was great with the towet. The view was magnificent stretching from Norlunga, glenelg, airport to port adelaide, and even farther. You can spot a few wallabies on the way. Once you reach the summit, the journey will be worth it.
In just few minutes we reached at the top of the hills where can watch whole city I recommend one must go and see how energetic it is!
This is one of the best places that you can see the whole of Adelaide City. Amazing place.
The 5 stars are for the view and the walks and not the hideous, ugly expanse of grey buildings and concrete.
Lovely view from the summit. Botanic Garden was also fine.need a good weather for mesmerising view
Breathtaking views. Lots of ehnthusiastics hiking & walking trails.
Restaurant and cafe open. Also a shop open for postcards and odd items.
Toilets are kept clean.
Best place to visit specially for hiking. It has beautiful hiking trails with waterfalls view. These view of Adelaide is just wonderful
This place is breathtaking!
Beautiful views of Adelaide from the top.
If your up for a hike, there are some really enjoyable trails accessible.
Food was excellent, staff were exceptionally helpful and nice. They catered for my daughters wedding and we could not be happier with the way we were looking after.
Great spot to gey a coffee and look out over Adelaide. Also a pretty good destination for a walk uphill from waterfall gully.
Fantastic views of Adelaide. Bring a jumper, it can be cold up here.
Great restaurant, book ahead to be sure of a table.
Nice views of Adelaide city. And good for sunset. Better after sunset with Adelaide on lights.
The summit can be accessed by road from the South Eastern Freeway at Crafers, and from the eastern suburbs via Greenhill Road and the Mount Lofty Scenic Route. The more enthusiastic can walk up the gully from Waterfall Gully, through the Cleland Conservation Park and from Chambers Gully. The track from Waterfall Gully to the summit is a 4 km uphill trek and one of Adelaide's most popular exercise circuits so the carpark at the bottom is often busy. The summit provides panoramic views across Adelaide, and a cafe-restaurant and gift shop. These are relatively new due to protracted disputes over appropriate development following the destruction of the old cafe in the 1983 Ash Wednesday fires. Kangaroos are often spotted on the trails leading up to the summit cafe.
A beautiful but steep hike from Waterfall Gully to Mount Lofty! Trails are in great condition and are very easy to navigate. I saw a lot of wildlife as it was getting dark on my way back down, which I loved.
Best place to enjoy nature. Located in Adelaide hills with awesome view of whole Adelaide city and suburbs. Sun sets are always mesmerising. Co breeze blows around and make u feel light and relaxed from the hectic life routine. A lot treks for adventurous and u can easily encounter wildlife views including Kangaroos, koilas etc.
Excellent views over Adelaide & surrounds, the meals & souvenir store goods are pricey, but still worth a visit
Nice and attractive view from every angle. You will see Whole adelaide from one place even Sunset also great view from there.
