Mount Gambier Railway Lands

Good little walking spot. There isn't much to entertain the kids here, but if you want to get them out or take the dog for a walk bring them here.

I really like what both Mount Gambier City & District Council of Grant Councils have done for the railway areas. The area around the centre of the railway lands is a great recreation area. What I find the best is the transition of the railway lines into the walking/ cycling track. It runs from Pick Ave right through to Cafpirco Rd & also out to Wandillo Rd. I can easily do 15km on a ride without having to ride in traffic. Very safe & now the lighting has been installed, it will be even better in winter. So good

Beautiful example of what can be done with a disused railway station/precinct that the whole family can enjoy.

Really nice big open space. If your kid likes rocks they will be in heaven. There’s an antiques /trash and treasure shop adjacent that was good for a look round. And a brewery pub thing too.

Bit of a play ground and a nice long bike path - great for scooter rollerblades etc.not a huge amount of shade so maybe don’t go in middle of hot day

A regular spot for our regular walks. Flat level surface makes walking here safe. Popular place for families, children can ride bikes safely, skate ring plenty for children to do.

This is one of the best trail in miunt gambier because the are many destinations you can travel to by simply walking or riding your bike.

Awsome place to walk. Walk from one side of the town to the other. Do a bit of shopping on the way or pop in for a coffee along the way. Good easy walking. Nice flat walk. No hills. Easy for kids on bikes or boards.

Walking the dog for a friend. Soz. Will bring a camera for next time. A beautiful greyhound rescued by the animal welfare league. Just had to get a new pink collar and harness. Luv Bobby the most beautiful greyhound.

Massive area of the old railway yards with bike paths, grassed areas, bbq's & a huge area for the kids to play, more than my photos show

Really injoyed my walk seen some interesting items along the way.
Love how they left all the train items lights ect to look at while you walk.

Ideal for the annual Baptist Christmas Toy Run.
You can get 100s of cars and bikes in there

Busy little area with lots of families aand people enjoying a great area and the start of some spring weather.

Love walking the dog down here, but is a great play area for the kids to explore or ride their bikes and scooters. Comes alive on a warm summer night

Absolutely fantastic. Did the limestone coast toy run and that's where it finished up. Food stalls and live entertainment. Almost 500 motorcycles and motor cars. Excellent turnout. Well organized and great day.

Fantastic place. Bike track is very well made, flat and very clean. Goes a fair distance but a nice easy bike ride or walk.

Absolutely fantastic. A lot of grass to put your blanket down to watch the Carols. Great place to catch up with friends. Easy access to public toilets. Well done the City of Mt Gambier

Great family space, with green lawns, BBQ area, & kids nature play area. Must keep an eye on kids at all times as this is not a secure space; with roads on three sides & a man-made lake. Nice space for kids to run off some steam.

Good place for kids with skates and scooters. Not much in terms of parks. Apparently it's much better after it rains as the ponds get filled. Could do with a plaque with a history lesson.

Great place to take a stroll, kids can play in the nature playground and even take doggy for a walk. BBQ facilities available and sheltered seating and tables.

Rail lands recreation area has a nice layout with tgings to amuse the kids while sitting back and enjoying the sun
