Have been here dozens of times. Whilst the prices are quite high, generally the service is excellent. Never have to wait too long, and the staff behind the counter are friendly and helpful

Very helpful and great staff. The service provided was brilliant, thank you. I'd definitely recommend them. Best in the Adelaide Hills!

Couple of big tubs of sandpit sand for $5, heaps better quality than the Bunnings bags and heaps better value.

Ryan, Bec and the team at Mount Barker Landscape Centre run a fantastic local business and we highly recommend them. Their exemplary customer service really stands out. They have a great range of landscaping supplies and wood heaters, Great job guys!

Thank you for selling a very small quantity of Sand & Loam, it’s greatly appreciated, and the level of service, a credit to Mount Barker Landscapes.

Good place to purchase garden soils/sand and metal etc for your garden, efficient weigh method, drive onto the weighbridge, load up and get weighed, pay and you're off!

I have been to the garden centre in the past and was less than impressed with the service. I heard new owners have taken over so did the right thing and gave them a go. What a complete 180, Great customer service and knowledge. Will defiantly be back soon

So refreshing to have pleasant people now owning this business. We had wonderful helpful service on our first visit since it changed ownership. Keep up the good work guys. People will return in droves.

Good service and reasonable prices for bulk purchases by the use or trailer load. Good variety of mulches and composts, though at times it can be a bit confusing on which to get. Interactions with staff have been pleasant.

We spoke with Karen who really knew all there is to know about the combustion heaters in store.
She was friendly and helpful and have us lots of information, no pressure to buy and an all round good genuine sales woman.

DO NOT BUY A WOOD HEATER FROM THIS BUSINESS!

What they do not tell you when they sell you a wood heater is that you will have to cure the paint yourself by burning wood and fumigating your home with the most chemically noxious gas you’ve ever smelt - no doubt cancer causing. It is appalling that they do not warn you of this pre sale! These wood heaters should come pre-cured! This is an industrial process highly unsuited to a domestic setting. We have had our wood heater for a month - an expensive brand MORSO. Designed in Europe but who knows where the noxious paint is applied or supplied by. They said it would cure in a single burn. It’s been 30 BURNS!

Terrible customer service, I found the owner rude and unhelpful. I was trying to gain a solution to an issue with a wood heater, and she was condescending rather than offering assistance.

I went to Mt Barker Landscape Centre to buy some river bed pebbles on the 13/02/20. I was initially talking to one of the employees who was very polite and helpful. I politely mentioned they were substantially dearer than my local landscape supplier (about $25 a ton dearer) as I completed my purchase when someone else behind her who claimed to be the owner delivered a barrage of abuse saying they weren’t ”rip off merchants “ etc. I tried to respectfully say I never said or inferred these comments or anything else she mention, just giving feed back but the tirade of abuse continued. She never tried to discuss it in a civil way. I thought maybe this person is having a bad day but looking at these reviews I can see it’s not just me. They won’t see me there again. I suggest anyone wanting Landscape supplies in that area drive a bit further. These people don’t respect or value their clientele!

Sales team has no idea what they are doing or selling. Sold me 2 tonne of "special" veggie mix for raised veggie beds, it set like concret about 1-2 inches thick and killed all my planta. Sales team couldn't help rectify the issue or suggest anything to inprove the soil. Still no sign of an apology or compensation. Utter embarrassment of a landscape shop.

I recently purchased 4 raised garden boxes from Bunnings and purchased 2 tones of soil to fill them from Mt Barker Landscape supplies.
I asked the staff for their advice on what sort of soil I required to grow vegetables in these raised beds. I was told quite emphatically I needed what they called, "Hills Special Mix".
I have been duded, this ' Hills special mix' cost me $70 per ton and is completely useless. All vegetable seedlings planted in this mix struggle to simply stay alive. 50% of seedlings have not survived, and what remains needs a constant stream of external nutrients.
The only thing that grows well in ' Hills Special Mix' is the abundant weeds that come with it!
Definitely would not recommend to others

Always a pleasure dealing with Karen, David and their crew at Mt. Barker Landcsapes. Our Landscape company has been relying on them and their fantastic range of products for nearly 20 years. We don’t only recommend their Hills Special Mix Soil, we specify it to build our award winning gardens. Most certainly the best blended soil in Adelaide. Keep up the great work.

I have worked in retail for over 20 years. The older gentleman needs a few lessons in customer service found him to be very arrogant and not friendly at all. I would say that the establishment is well set up and if management want to keep customers coming back then give the older man some lessons in manners and customer service. Unfortunately i wont be coming back nor will i recommend to anyone. I am currently in the trade industry and understand that tradies will only give a place one shot. Cheers

I'd think carefully about going here. We would never return. We complained about a load of scoria (way too much dust/sand/other) and the man was very rude. He said we could leave it here.shovel 700kg out of the trailer but there would be no credit

Never had a problem with products but customer services skills are sadly lacking as mentioned in other reviews. I'd rather travel further and give my business to a company that appreciates the business.
