Motel Mount Gambier

If all you need is a bed, then it ticks that box. Very basic room and dated. Wifi flakey. On the positive, plenty of power points for charging. Exactly as expected for the good price.

We couldn’t book a pet friendly room in Portland. We settled for a room here. But this town was such a surprise. The Blue Lake, which is 8 min drive from the motel, was amazing before sunset. Different choices of restaurants are located nearby.
The room itself is spacious with all amenities. Plus the parking is free.

Would have been amazing except the local dog would not stop barking all night

Room smelt like mice. Large hole in the ceiling. Thin towels, prickly sheets, bed that sank in the middle. Great location, but could hear a rooster crowing all night long Overall, very uncomfortable stay. I don't recommend.

Great value for money. Much better than you could expect from a 3 star motel. Very spacious and clean rooms with all amenities, big comfy bed and friendly service.

All round great place. Comfortable room and clean. Housekeeping staff are very friendly. Only downside is that there is no restaurant on-site. But the shopping centre is just up the road. Will tell everyone about it.

If you are expecting 5 star hospitality from a 3 star motel, it's your problem. Very big rooms, old but tidy. Very friendly owners. Value for money.

Huge room, neat clean and tidy, recently renovated room and great price. Would stay again.

We had a double bed family room. Very clean and spacious. With everyday routine cleaning as well. Price was definitely reasonable. Motel is within walking distance to the city centre and umpherston Sinkhole. There's a pool at the back of the motel that is open during warm seasons. Also a trampoline is next to the pool.
The best part of it is that they are pet friendly.

Do yourself a favour and find somewhere else to stay.
Have a look at the reviews on booking.com and the way management responds to any criticism, by being abusive and degrading to customers. Clearly this lack of professionalism shows the way in which the motel is poorly run.
The motel is so dated and decrepit, it desperately needs a good clean and updating. The wifi sporadically works and when asked if there was a fix for it we were told “it should work”, we agree it should work but didn’t!
The rooms, linen, towels and reception all smell like Indian food. As much as we, as a family enjoy Indian food we don’t want our bed and towels smelling like it!
If you do stay please do not dare to offer any constructive feedback as you’ll be abused (after they’ve taken your money of course!).

Rooms was very clean, spacious and hygienic. Staff very hospitable and generous. Highly recommended.

Fantastic motel, everything you needed was there, staff & owners were lovely. Room was the Cleanest motel room I have been in plus no noise from the busy Rd. Lovely garden areas too

The worst in mount Gambier, rude disrespectful and dishonest owners who used threatening language, and doesn't provide you with any booking policy and will take money from your Feb or card without your permission or knowledge! I had to report them to consumer Affairs. Stay anywhere else.

Nice place to stay, if the amenities are updated the motel will attract many repeat customers.

First time I saw the house caretaker walking to us and asking about the stay! While leaving the room.

We booked 4 and stayed 5 nights at the end. This motel has a basic room and facilities but - big plus you can bring your dog. Our bed was very comfortable and room was spotlessly clean. Daily service also available. Position excellent. 12minutes walk from town centre. Walking distance to shopping centre. On top of everything, you can hardly beat the price. Overall great place and if we need to stay round Mt. Gambier this will be definitely our first choice.
